Just watched your video on planting Elderberry sticks. I do have a young elderberry that birds planted into a container of soil in my garden. It's not tall, maybe 3 ft. Thin branches. I'm wondering if i cut it back for winter and plant those sticks now (late Oct, FL panhandle, sandy soil) WILL THOSE SMALL STICKS GROW? tks

Terry I love your American eldeberry!!! I ordered some a week ago to try. I have wild eldeberry that grows on my property and it grows in various areas of my land. I have been harvesting them for the last 2 years. I pick them , clean them and freeze them. Then i make all kinds of syrups, juices and such thru the year. I love having the tinctures in my cabnet for health. I brag all the time how powerful elderberry are. I had the covid 2 xs that left me very is with fatigue and heart issues. I never had a cough or fever or infection just heart racing and horrible fatigue. I have been taking my elderberry ever since and swear by it to keep my immune system strong and protected. I also use alot of raw honey and garlic. I wanted to ask you is my wild eldeberry that grows on my property considered an American eldeberry? I live in the california foothills , and my elevation is about 2200. We get a bit of snow not much, and temps as low as high 30's. Its very hot here also in the summer. The berrys grow like mad here. I notice they dry up fast, should i be watering them. They are wild here i did not plant them, but i did do the cuttings and put them in my raise vegetable beds theu the winter and they had leaves on them in the spring so i planted them along my drive way. They grow fast and i cut them way back each fall. I watched you on doug and stacys off grid show and learned how to prune and plant the eldeberry from you. But i rreally want to know if mine is American. I would assume it is as it grows wild. I would live to talk to yoy about my plants and get some info from you on how to care for them considering they are wild. I do simmer the berry as im not sure about the cyanide content if they are not an american berry. I am a subscriber of Mountain Hills and a customer. I am so loving my elderberry trees, or bushes! Hahaha! I would have loved to be an elderberry farmer, but i take care of my parents and theres no way i could do it alone. Well i hope there is some way to talk to you about my berrys. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! Blessing, D

Terry, I remember from watching you with Doug and Stacy how to plant the elderberry. I just cut them at the markings you showed her and I just stick them in the ground. Here in Pennsylvania they just shoot up and grow nice and big. The only problem I have is I have some sneaky pest eating my green, unripened berries this year. I saw a green aphid on a small plant that is a ways away from the bigger plants. Interesting too is I have a male and a female plant. The female is not having any problems with having her berries eaten. What can I do or how do i go about ridding the bushes of possible pests, i.e, aphids?

I live in Mexico, Mo. Is it okay to Prune elderberry now and make cuttings, and then plant them right away. I only have 1 John's and 1 Adam's elderberry plants. They are two years old this year. I've never pruned them yet. I really dont know when to prune or plant the cuttings. I found you through Doug and Stacy off grid. I've purchased some of your elderberry products at Hickory Ridge orchard in Mexico, Mo. My husband and I take it every morning with breakfast and we neither one have been sick since we started taking it a little over a year ago. We usually get colds and flu several times each year. Thank you for your good products. I look forward to hearing back from you, Sir.

Today is 1/7/23. Unusually snow free in NY. Moving in a few weeks to MO. Wondering what my best option is to get cuttings from my established elder bushes? Not sure when I’ll be able to plant after cutting. Do I cut the whole plant down and keep it in a large trash bag or better to cut into pieces and store in sand or moss or peat?

Saw you today on Off Grid with Doug and Stacy. Wow! Didn't know anything about all those potatoes. Very convincing demonstration, you made it seem so easy and necessary to be more self-sufficient. Then putting elderberry around the chicken coop. I only have a balcony to grow things. Can't say I have a green thumb. However since you say can be grown in buckets, I am going to brave it and do my best. I will be ordering the elderberry cuttings. Thank you for sharing. I also subscribed as it appears I need to learn about growing thing.

I am so hoping you can help me. I’m in zone 6 i believe (KY) and I have an elderberry cutting that I’ve been growing inside. It was growing beautifully, I put it outside (still in a large pot) and as soon as I did it’s leaves started drooping and she’s looking not so good. Do you have any idea what might be the problem. I have it in the sunniest spot I have so I’m at a loss.

Contact the company that put this video out direct, they are a professional farmers and sell/ship elderberry cuttings…they will set you up with the right stuff the first time and save a lot of grief. I purchased and planted two plants before I knew about this place and was a big mistake. One was a Bob Gordon and I was told the other was the pollinator I needed. In short the online nursery I bought from didn’t know much about these plants evidently and I ended up with two bushes that blossomed weeks apart. I removed the “ pollinator “ and will propagate a cutting from the Bob Gordon and plant that for two of that variety.
