They look like the best duo
oh yeah, soon enough the rest will join them :)
SOOOOOOOʻOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COOOOOOOOOL
God those knees looks so weird but the torso and shoulders look so cool. Often i find that these chinese kits have super ugly legs but really cool looking everything else, it drives me crazy
@@Freelancer604 I know what you mean. They look pretty ok in real life. They look like plasma swords sticking out to strike the opponent in the belly
Can you compare the size with in era ruling ?
Hey amigo. I unfortunately do not have that kit. Sorry.
Kosmos LED r op af.... but i wonder if its durable
@@hmmdoh7835 they are cool indeed. What do you mean by durable tho?
@@skhobbies will they stop working like the bandai ones like an yr or something
@@hmmdoh7835 hmmm can’t say. I built my Rg hi nu with kosmos led set about 9 months ago. It’s been on the entire time since. No issues so far. I also have my pg perfectibility on since Jan this year. Same. No problems.
@@skhobbies sounds solid unlike those Bandai stop working on me alrdy...
@@hmmdoh7835 it’s just my experience of course. So your mileage may vary. I have not tried Bandai LEDs, I don’t like they don’t have always on options and require batteries. But I own I think all led sets kosmos made and will eventually hopefully have all of them added to respective kits.
btw how tall is he ? comparing with in era aurora, without standbase
theyre both about 10 inches standing still without stands. sky defender is much thicker boy tho
request Zao Workshop Oracle
Coming soon! i got it in my backlog. need to finish PG exia - hopefully this week!
Is it easy to remove the parts, should I build it first or wait until I have the kosmos led?
It is definitely not easy to remove the parts. This kits is somewhere between PG and MG scale while it also has 2-3 times the number of parts. If I knew about the led kit - I would’ve waited building mine until I got both. With that being said tho - I will be disassembling my defender to install LEDs once I receive those and will certainly make a video on the process.
@@skhobbies thank you!
Are the kosmos led wired the same like the Bandai version? Were the source of power is the actual gm drive and when detached all lights stop working?
Hello. From what I can tell a the wiring is mostly the same and you need to follow the original Bandai led kit instructions. There are 2 power wires however, leading to the controller, but there’s enough space in the base arm to accommodate those. Gn drive can be detached form the main body and attached to the base and if you disconnect it while LEDs are on - the lights keep working.
@@skhobbies agh ok thanks. Seems like the Bandai less are more sophisticated in terms of how they work but have terrible lighting
I guess. This new kosmos set has a ton of settings and options. I’ll play with it later and if I find a mode that does what you mean - will put it in the video review.
Can this be on continuously for days without the lights turning off by itself? As the bandai version shut the light off every 5 - 15 min
oh yeah, i have my kosmos sets always on. sometimes static sometimes in some show mode. my RG Hi Nu has been on since september last year.
SKY DEFENDER 1/72 can find me a large quantity of stock
Check out the store where I got mine. It’s white a popular model, atm, however.
Price $50
@@skhobbies Brother, do you have any channels for this product? How much do you want
I don’t, sorry
@@skhobbies It's okay, I've sold a lot abroad anyway
Is the website advertised for real?! The SkyDefender at $75 bucks...?!?!
@@Savrollo you mean Samueldecal.com? That’s where I got mine ;) tell them you’re from SK hobbies ;)
Will do. 😎👍
@@skhobbies Oh! Well! I've waisted more money in a drinking session with some friends. Will try them and then see what's coming next...
@@Savrollo lol
how was your legs on the leo? I hear they can snap at the plastic on the ankle.
So ankles are super finicky and have almost 0 articulation in mecha form. I can see how someone would snap them if tried to pose. The knee joint is a super awkward double articulated ratchet joint that I didn’t want to mess with as it looked bad in most poses. The thigh joint is also a ratchet but is easier to work with. That’s where you get most of the leg articulation from.
Next batch is probably 1Q of 2025 and Einta official quote marks "Maybe just 50% release" So china will suck up all the stocks and the rest of the world can't lay hands directly until maybe late 2025. You can actually purchase with some "premium" added at chinese online markets which costs almost double the original price. I myself got this last week for $120 because I didn't want to wait for another 6 months or more. If I succeeded in pre-ordering the 1st batch I would've got em for $70.
@@BOT-xt8pu yeah. Msrp is quite reasonable on these but resell/retail price is nuts. I was lucky enough to get mine at a good price some samueldecal.com and fast too. Also, from what I’ve heard (rumors, purely) is over 130k units production was announced. So there should be plenty to go around eventually. But the wait might be quite extended due to hype around this model.
Where do i buy these???
If you’re an international buyer - my recommendation would be gundamit.com. If you happen to be in CA or the US - ecollectibles.ca is a good place too!
Hello, am I correct that you used the blue psycho frame here and did not get a clear frame? Even in the OTB showcase? It seems like you are able to get colors like red to shine through well even without a clear frame. Care to comment on that? Any photos of red showing through well? I'm worried about RGB not being useful without a clear frame. Thank you.
hello. yes, you are correct. i didnt even know you could get a clear inner frame for the pg unicorn, tbh. the clear blue is what i used - it comes with it. kosmos makes 2 LED sets for the PG Perfectibility: regular and RGB. I have the RGB one, but the way they implemented it is a bit odd as the G and B lights are bright clear while the Red is a smaller. It still comes through the blue frame but not quite as much. Check out the end of the video with showcase - it has a lot of demos of the lights. My favorite LED color is purple, actually. I have displayed since i built it on a shelf always on static purple.
Is it easy to install these LED's?
Yeah. You just follow the original Bandai instructions. Kosmos LEDs are a direct replacement.
😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Sick!
Ty!
Oh yes!! I'm ready! Does it have a mode for the repair unit version?
yes, it does! there 2 module options for the head light unit: regular, and repair (red and green lights).
What shelf did you use for your runners?
i believe at the time i was using a runner organized called 'runner in dock' it can be found on plaza japan or hlj. its pretty neat as it can be folded to save space when not in use. the downside, however, is that it wont fit bigger runners - its kind of designed to hold bandai runners as those seem to have a size limitation to them. third party kits runners are sometimes way bigger, but you can use runner clips for those.
Did your Kosmos LED come with the USB-C port out of its battery pack? How did you set up the battery pack?
yes, from my experience - all modern kosmos kits have a usb-c plug. sometimes, it would be on the battery pack and sometimes it would be a separate attachment. for PG Perfectibility - USB-C is a separate attachment to the battery pack. its also a longer cable so you can modify the base and make neat plug in the rear.
@@skhobbies How did you modify the port? Or where did you place the port in the base?
@@krsspr1032 I modified the base by cutting into one of the rear walls to attach the port.
@@skhobbies What about the screws? Did yours came with screws?
@@krsspr1032 nope. I used a couple tiny ones that I had laying around
What tool did you use to vaccum the nub?
its a handheld vacuum from DSPIAE - HC-V! i love its neat design.
How much did you get this for?
hello, you can check the price on samueldecal.com - i got it from that store. cheers
@@skhobbies Is the website trustworthy? I mean, The SkyDefender at $75 seems kinda fishy, imo
@@skhobbies in that website said: * First edition comes with metal frame parts. What is that mean ? will the next batch not get metal parts?
@@lsop1342some inner joints are POM plastic, but first edition comes with those joints also as cast metal. no external visual difference tho
Did you matte topcoat the whole thing?
hey. the armor parts individually - yes. no top coat on the inner frame or plated parts. i also left the few red pieces original too. for highlight.
@@skhobbies nice thanks, I have this on preorder
right on. a heck of a kit!
@@skhobbies yeah it looks it! You said you used the metal parts on the inner frame, does it give you the choice as you build?
yes. if your pre-order comes with metal parts - they will be in a small separate plastic container. they're all joined parts: shoulders, lower torso, ankles. the main manual does not list them. you will have a separate sheet of a4 black and white paper that instructs where to use the metal parts, if choose to do so. make sure to look good for that sheet - i personally almost lost it. but if you cant find it - lemme know, i can share photos of it. the metal parts are cool for photos/video - extra subtle shine here and there - but are only adding more difficulty to posing this beast. this kit is super intricate and quite small (smaller than PG quite a bit) and metal joints throw off the weight balance even more... but its fun!
I don't know I've been putting it off to buy this kit. You motivated me to get it now. 😍
Haha. Well, I’m glad you like the video. The kit is fabulous. I have to admit I glance at it once a day as it always draws an eye. It’s a very spiky but yet seamless and fluent design. And the combination of color is majestic. I’m sure you’ll enjoy building and displaying it ;)
Cuando el tutorial de luces LED
Probably end of this year. Will make it as soon as I get a set. Stay tuned.
saw your comment on gundamit I just got this kit myself 20 usd cheaper then gundamit it was the second round version I plan on using LED filament to try to copy the anime will see how it goes oh yeah and subbing !
Thank you, amigo! Really appreciate your support! It’s a gorgeous kit! I believe the second batch has gold and transparent accent parts, right? If so - LEDs would be dope. I also saw some accessories for anime-like green rings but the best version of it I could only find on a Korean site with no shipping option for Canada, so bad luck. Nevertheless, happy building and I am sure your kit will look fantastic!
@@skhobbies yeah all the cool stuff including some of the best waterslides I have ever used (decal factory) comes from korea and is hard as hell to get shipped to north america
This is the coolest thing I’ve seen❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🧸🧸👨🏼💻👨🏼💻👦🏼👦🏼🙀🙀🙀
Thank you so much!!
just got mine today. Damn it's a huge box. Didn't expect it to be perfect grade size. gonna wait to build it though. wanna get that kosmos lighting set for it
Good idea. I got in touch with kosmos and they also recommend installing the LEDs when building the kit for the first time. In my case, since it’s already built - I’ll have to do disassembly and to install LEDs. Will be an interesting and hopefully useful video!
@@skhobbies I don't envy that disassembly..oof
Can't wait for mine, not looking forward to the decal work haha EDIT: 710 DECALS?!
Yes indeed. Depends on the finish version you choose. Basic finish will guide you to apply 258 decals and deluxe will expect you to apply all 710. And if you use spares I think it’s smth like 720. The decals are very high quality, though very tiny.
Waiting for the KOSMOS light kit before building mine.. so nervous about panel lining this thing. Afraid of the liner cracking the armor pieces
Good plan! All armor is made of PS plastic so no need to be afraid if you use enamel panel liner, like Tamiya. I didn’t panel line inner frame.
Great build video. I am building the same kit but the instructions do not indicate qhere to use the metal peices accept for the torso. Can you tell me where you ised them?
Check the box the runners are in - there should be a separate black and white sheet for metal parts instructions. It’s not part of the manual booklet. I only kept the manual as memento but if I recall correctly - it’s the shoulder joints, lower torso, and ankles. When you get to building those parts - you’ll notice the POM joints look similar to the metal parts.
Thanks much!
Damn thats dope as hell but id be shit scared of trying to build these sorts of things
thank you! dont be! its just one part at a time - take it slow and easy and be patient. you can build any snap model kit like that. as far as i can tell, the difficulty goes up significantly when/if you get to those model that need to be fully painted and glued and all that.
If you’re careful, take your time, and make sure you follow the instructions exactly, you’ll be surprised!
I'm shopping for a display case for this monster. Trying to avoid custom acrylic, but I'm curious about the dimensions for the included action base. Do you have those measurements by any chance?
sure, the base is about a foot deep, 9.5" wide. depends on your pose the kit can be as little as 12.5" and as much as 20" in height. the width and depth can also extend drastically depending on the pose. i was able to put the kit in last pose seen on video on a shelf with 16.5" depth, 15" width, 13" . height.
@@skhobbies much appreciated thank you! 🤜🏾💥🤛🏾
Nice video. I got some tips about the decals, btw where did u get the sponge for the decals? Cheers
thank you! its a decal moisturizer box. i got it on aliexpress for like 5 bucks. i believe its just a regular wet palette just rebranded (and potentially priced higher). its kind of neat as you soak the sponge in water, place a ton of decals on it and work through them. they will be wet but not swimming in water. plus, with this particular one - you can close the lid if you need a break and the decals will remain safe inside.
@@skhobbies Got it thanks for the data I will get one, the one I have doesnt work as I want. Cheers
Nicely done! Did using the metal parts make it any tougher and for the decals, can they just soak up water from the top of that sponge to activate? Posing was great too but crazy how long it took to get some poses in
thank you! not at all, metal parts are internal so no decals are applied to them directly. i use a moisturizer box for decals and at times left them in it overnight. the moisturizer box has a sponge that you soak in water. so decals are kept wet but not drowned in water. i am sure others will be quicker with poses - my sausagy fingers make posing a little tough but it is still fun :)
Absolutely love it man hope u make a video when u get the led
most definitely. i will also be adding a couple other interesting add-ons to this kit along with the leds. will be fire!
oh ... i almost forgot... happy anniv for the channel :)
thank you thank you :)
superb!!!! nice job on vid too
thank you very much, glad you liked it!
Is that a metal alloy on its frame?
yes, the preorder bonus is a few replacement joints that are metal cast. you still get the original POM and those are much easier to work with and sturdier. i just liked the shine of the metal alloy ones.
FYI: I reached out to Kosmos and they said they recommend installing LEDs when building the kit first time. I assume they will provide video instructions as always. Since my defender is nearly done already - I will make a video instruction showing how to install the LEDs on a complete kit and point out the risk/difficult areas. Cheers.
Do u need to disassemble the kit to install? Just curious, so I will wait for the LED before build it 😅
Unfortunately, yes. I also got in touch with kosmos and they said they recommend installing the led kit when building the model. Not on the finished model.
@@skhobbies i guess so bc i saw ppl fingers hurt for how tide the parts r n disassemble will be super difficult lol
well, i hope if you got the right tools and a patient approach - it is doable. will be an interesting challenge. i dont want a second sky defender and already pre-ordered the led kit for it. will definitely make a video guide showing the process and sharing my experience.
@@skhobbies looking forward to it god i can feel ur fingers wil....
haha, it will be for a good cause! :)
