Just curious: which batch did you use for the James Pepper? I have noticed a bit of difference in the quality between the low number batches vs the higher numbers. I was fortunate to get Batch 002 and its by far the best that I've tasted!

Somehow. I ended up with 11 bottles of Eagle Rare 10s. And I don't mind it.

I like the Green River Full Proof, but am glad I got it for a gift and when it was on sale for $40 instead of $50. I do not think it is worth $50, when there are several very good from $22 to $37.

Had a chance to get the 4 roses LE but passed because of the $249 price tag 🤔, the James e Pepper and the GR full proof are good pours 👍😉

This was my first Larceny. It instantly became my favorite bottle and I bought a backup.

That Larceny c924 is right up there this year for sure, Coy Hill-Penelope 10yr estate-OGD 16-Baker 7 high rye- WT 70th 8yr-MM heart release are some of my favorites 👍😬

I'm still trying to make up my top 10 list of Bourbon and Rye's for 2024 , so many great bottles this year plus I'm a little behind 😉🤣

No Old Fitz or Bardstown Disco available near me, but I have seen the Larceny C924. I will have to pick one up and give it a go!! Very reasonable as far a price goes as well.

Appreciate that you put glass A on the viewer's *left* . Does having the A on your right seem a little backward to you when you're doing the tastings?

Have three of the four (New Riff is the exception); RR15 is obviously so dang good but I was tremendously surprised by the 1924--very good flavor with great oakiness, finish for days...just a little missing from the body due to the proof point, and the dang bottle is priced at $200 online which is ridiculous. It became one of my favorite bottles this year still. Little Book Ch. 8 is also pretty darn tasty!

I just bought my first Larceny BP and ECBP both C924. I didn’t know what I was getting into. Guess I’ll be buying both every four months. 😂

last week went into the store and found both Eagle Rare and Blantons on the shelf... the limit one per day forced me to make the decision to put back the Eagle Rare.

I received the 2025 Barrell Bourbon New Year bottle and will be cracking that one open for sure. That New Riff 8 Year Bourbon is a jewel, no doubt. Happy New Year and thanks for a great year of videos!

Since I have to be at work 6:30 AM NewYears day, my New Year’s Eve celebration will be short lived. Current plans are to have a pour of my Lucky Seven Holiday Toast with aAlec Bradley Magic Toast cigar. A double toast to the new year.

Gave my son in law the New Riff 8 year he really liked it. I’m a fan of the 6 year malted rye. And that bottle is sitting on shelves the 8 year only saw it once. Unfortunately Barrell doesn’t really come around my area I see the dovetail and Seagrass every now and then it it’s not always available. Eagle rare I buy when I go to New Orleans for the Jazz festival it’s 30 at Sazerac house. And Old Fitz is not a bottle I’ll ever see but that’s okay there’s a lot of whiskies I will never get that’s why I stick with my shelfers. Have a safe New Year 🥃🥃🥃

I live in Wisconsin, so I have very low expectations of ever finding any allocated whiskeys. However, this year I was able to find a Van Winkle "Lot B" and just today I got an E. H. Taylor Straight Rye. As for missing out, I was really hoping to get a Wild Turkey 70th, but wasn't able to find one.

Some of it seems to be regional, aside from how many SKUs stores buy. Midsummer night’s dram price increased greatly and there’s still bottles available and sitting on the store counter about 5 minutes from my house. Devil’s Tower was fairly available this year. Scored two bottles of the Michter’s Barrel Strength Rye…. Stuff is fantastic. Scored two bottles of GTS and one Pappy 15. The Pappy and GTS were gifted to friends due to special occasions. I tried a Midsummer (unsure of act) this fall and it was horrible. There’s a bottle of Act 9 scene 3 sitting around that I haven’t gotten to, yet. Never been into Jack Daniels, so I haven’t tried any of their stuff.

I cant find Frey Ranch anything. Its the one I always look for .

That’s surprising. I’ve only had one blantons so far and it was phenomenal. It was warehouse h which apparently is the best warehouse as I was told later so maybe it does vary a lot bottle to bottle.

I was able to get a Shenks and Van winkle lot b. That's it.😒

I can still buy Redwood Empire DT for &79.99 at my local liquor store. Last time I was there they had the Midwinter for MSRP but I passed as I was shopping for scotch that day. Probably gone by now.

I lucked into JD10, passed on Midwinter for reasons you mentioned. I also was hoping for Michters BS Rye but no luck.

I stood in line at one store for Black Friday. Missed Coy Hill by one spot in line. Grabbed OF1924 asI wanted to try it once.

For me the high west prisoners share was way better than midwinter!

I saw the Jack Daniels 10 and 12 but they were museum priced. Saw plenty of Mid-Summer but not at 160. Kepp hearing it's not worth it.

Bowman cask strength slipped through my fingers a few times at stores, and I missed a found north single barrel online due to tech problems. Kinda like you said though, you can't get them all & it was still an awesome year overall!

I managed to get the JD offerings, saw the MWND but refused to pat $200 for it. I’ve seen a few BTAC bottles ranging in price from $500 to $1200. Too rich for my blood

I’ve got a bottle of that redwood, it’s great! Maybe not worth the $90 but it’s a great pour

I had a great year also. BTAC and Four Roses 2024 LE.

2024 was a good year for me. Was able to get JD 10, 12, Coy Hill 129.4 proof, 5 RR 15’s, Redwood Empire Devils Tower, Michter’s Barrel Strength Rye, Michter’s 10 Year Bourbon and Rye, Michter’s Toasted Barrel Strength Bourbon and Rye, Murray Hill Club Special Reserve 4, Old Rip 10 and GTS 2024. The best part was all at or near MSRP. The ones that eluded me were Booker’s The Reserves, Still Austin Tanager Cigar Blend, Found North batch 10 and Found North Hell Diver. 🥃

I am not a line waiter nor a tater. I don’t go out of my way to find bottles. However I do go looking randomly at times and find some pretty decent items. Nothing out there that I really wanted but would have really liked to find a Penelope 9 year again. My first bottle was absolute 🔥🔥🔥

I never see any of these either. But I’m not a camper to busy even retired I don’t have time to stand in line for any bottle. I’m a walk in and get what I like from the shelf it’s easier this way. I will say I’m seeing better bottles sitting on shelves and I believe that trend will continue with these legacy brands upping production for the most part the distribution system needs to be better regulated but other than that it’s getting better. I see prices leveling off and the real high end bottles not being sold for ridiculously high prices hopefully. Enjoy and have a safe and Happy New Year 🥃🥃🥃

My thoughts are to find a well stocked bar nearby to try small samples, to lower the amount of almost full bottles you do not like very much.

Your list is all good but it seems you allow price to steer your choices. You literally almost have your list based on price.
