Im glad someone else enjoys pickerel fishing as much as i do . In my area theres a pond that only has pickerel and everyone hates it but theres 6.7.8 lbrs and i think world record LOL but theyre so much fun to fight on light setups and for top water id use a good leader the bigger ones tend to inhale the whole bait and cut you off before you even get a chance to set hook. Amazing video man

Yes in Maryland we call them Rockfish. Technically striped bass just what we say here.

My parents just had their shoreline in the rappahanaock rocked for erosion prevention, Caught my first puppy drum off it. Love spinning for perch of their dock as well.

Funny thing about 15 years ago a buddy and i fishing in his bass boat had the same thing happen we were in the middle of a rockfish feeding frenzy, we threw everything we had in our tackle boxes and could not get them to bite crazy. Still cool to see the water boiling like though. Nice vid. Tight lines.

Love top water Pickeral fishing! Here in eastern Canada it's amazing fishing. I have a spot I go to that produces 23"-26" almost every time. April to November. Good vid! Tight lines.

It's great to see reds coming up this far. I hope this becomes a common occurrence with more slots around in numbers. I drive way south to get on nice schools of slot size and over reds.

Today i went to poplar island and caught a nice 25 inch rockfish
