- I took the day off work to rive down and explore the Piankatank River on my kayak to search for speckled trout and puppy drum. I have always heard good things about this river and wanted to see it for myself. I had high hopes, but as the day went on, it quickly became apparent that I was going to be dealing with cownose rays all over the place. I did manage to find a few striped bass and explored some really cool areas of the river. The rays were just overwhelming and I think they messed up the bite where I was fishing. Do you have any tips on catching speckled trout or blue fish this time of year June 27th?? Mid Bay area..
Hit the shallows early for speckled trout. The eastern shore will hold better numbers in the Choptank, Little Choptank, and Hong River. Fish shoreline points and areas with grass for the best results. Also The lower Patuxent has trout right now. Bluefish schools will start moving into the middle bay in better numbers this month and hopefully the mackerel arent far behind.

Out of the fish you named....what one do you prefer to eat? And how do you prepare them?
