Hello, I created this RUclips channel for those interested in pigeons and pigeon keeping. I started out with 4 Birmingham Rollers that I bought at a flea market. So glad I did! They are usually the highlight of my day. I have an extensive background of animal keeping and breeding as well as pigeon keeping and flying. I am also a breeder of high quality German Shepherd dogs which Is also my passion since I was a child. I currently have a flock of Roller Pigeons and many types of high quality racing pigeons. I enjoy club racing and one loft racing very much! I show my lofts, day to day care and flying, and all the accessories that are needed. It will be easy to see how enjoyable the pigeons are from the videos! For those who have been thinking of taking up the pigeon hobby, these videos are a must! Yes, the chickens roam around every afternoon until sunset and they like to go underneath and clean up after the Pigeons

That's true about the hawks and eating in the morning in Everett, WA as well. Have had no hawk activity since November. Nice! Do you keep any heating sources in your lofts, Mike? ⛄
I keep a small heater in the breeding area just to keep it above freezing. We only have about 5 weeks a year that it sometimes gets to freezing temps

The hen has a pedigree but it’s shows a lot of winners in her back round but doesn’t mention specific blood lines. The cock I was told it’s probably a Janssen. I don’t focus on blood lines anymore I just try out the ones that show promise. The only time I look at bloodlines is so I don’t inbreed to much for my racers

How do you keep you nest pads to say in the brown bowls?
Some of them, I have to put tape on the bottom but the dark brown ones the nest pad stay in there very well by themselves

It all depends how many Pigeons you want to Race. Just remember, the birds have to be healthy and happy which means they can’t be overcrowded.

I hope you had a great holidays, my friend. I usually wait until I see the young birds come to the feed and eat. They only need to eat one seed and they are ready to be separated from the parents. Usually between 19 to 24 days old.
how long will the birds sit on fake eggs? can you leave the fake eggs under them until you want them to breed?
@@600torque no they will only sit on them for about 15 days usually and then they will usually lay a couple more between 15 and 25 days
