How I dealt with fear during my recovery
Fear was something that was so prevelant during my recovery. Fear of crashes , fear of over doing it, fear of not doing enough, in general, my life was plagued with it. In this video I talk about a few of the things that helped me deal with this common aspect of recovery

    Hope, nearly finished, well done. I don't want to get into an argument over boots vs trail runners but, as you were taking your boots on and off regularly for lovely dips in the sea, something like the Salamon XA Pro 3D shoes IMO, would have suited you much better as they have a quick release tightening mechanism. In addition, again just my opinion but your socks may have brought on your blisters. Double-ply socks are the best e.g. 1000Mile brand. Question: were you able to find places to eat i.e. cafes and restaurants along the whole way? Gracias Mike T.

    Hi HopeBoat, don't know your name, sorry. Well done so far; amazing trails. I am in my 70s and have completed 6 x Santiago Caminos and I am really interested in completing the Cavi. However, using the service "CamideCavills360", they quoted me the outrageous sum of 1,700 euros for the 10 day walk in March next year. Question: did you use them to book you accommodation etc. or did you just book yourself? If so, can you forward the approx. total 10 day cost (excluding flights etc)? What time of year did you go? Many thanks. Mike T.

    Thanks so much for these terrific tips! I was thinking today that by adding things slowly and my body does ok with it, that that proof can help with fear as well. Funny you talk if Dr. John Sarno as I have been watching some videos on Pain Free You and he talks of fear and I loved his tips. My favorite one so far is " I've got this" " im good". I feel like these have helped me. I love how you worked your way up to using the gym. I hope you have a nice time here in America when you go!

    Thanks for answering my question! I did do the ANS Rewire 4 yrs ago and it really helped me get out of being bedbound. Im now back to do doing brain retraining again. Funny you say the Curable app as I just signed up for it last week and am loving it so far! I have noticed an improvement in my symptoms since I started brain retraining again. I also have been pacing as well. I struggle with trying new activities as fear can come in over going over my baseline. Did you ever have that? Did you just use brain retraining on that?

    Thanks for sharing your success, my daughter who has CFS noticed a huge improvement in sleep within 24 hours of starting CBD oil. We can get it on prescription here in New Zealand with or without THC. The product we used is a full spectrum Cannabis CBD oil with no THC. It's expensive here but on the smallest dosage not too bad. Highly recommend reading a little about how it works. It acts on the underlying issue with CBD , rather than just treating a symptom of the illness. Anti inflammation, nervous system soothing, pain reducing, anxiety relieving magic

    Australia is a load of shite 🇮🇪 .. I hated the place. I got a skin disorder for months from the stress of the place .. But I did learn to be by myself ... Sounds like you had a similar experience with Australia .. I was watching a film about rappers in America and some people got shot over a few fake posts . Instagram just doesn't suit the truth sometimes because you're trying to be inspirational and motivated . The whole premise of film making is to activate , motivate and inspire in others . So you can always blame your motivational side for the inaccuracy . I did a 27km walk last week . It almost killed me , I've a cough now. There's limits .. endurance training helps to define those limits to one's self. I know I can walk 56km in one day . And not a single km more .

    Stay doing what you're doing. Combined , it'll come and go . So don't spread it too thin . You can always go back and delete the stuff you think doesn't suit your channel as it grows . Keep walking .. keep climbing . Chronic fatigue sounds like poor cardio health. Did you get that from training too much ? I got exhaustion when I was young , from swimming , cycling and squash and tennis too much .

    • @thehopeboat2449
      @thehopeboat2449 2 года назад

      Hey :) thanks for commenting! I guess I just don’t want to bore the people that want to watch hikes and I don’t want to make irrelevant content for people interested in health stuff. But also there’s a part of me that wants to make hiking films as a hiker and not as someone who’s recovering from something if that makes sense? And the fatigue was a combination of what started as a debilitating mosquito virus in Australia that triggered an autoimmune thyroid condition, both these things leading to extreme levels of fatigue and inability to do physical activity and over time it all merged into CFS. It was the worst time in my life so I created this channel to pass on what I learnt, but I lost track of that and started hiking again lol but maybe that’s useful too, still making my mind up !

    I think this channel is about losing hope, getting it back and working to achieving it so if you don't show where you were and how you doing now and what made you reach that objective I believe it would be incomplete picture. I would like this channel to have mixture of both health and what your doing with that health so please keep both up and coming, I really love it. Just make playlists and you should be golden. Well that's something I think and a small input. Either way you go, you have my support 😊😊🌻😊😊 cheers

      Hey Kathy! For me I paced using kilometres. So for a couple of weeks my walks may be 2km, then if that’s successful I’d add on for the next couple of weeks. Some people use steps or minutes. I kept track of all my activity in a spreadsheet so I was very organised but I would say semi strict because I easily would get carried away and over do it and have a crash! But it was strict enough to work. If you DM me your email address on Instagram I’ll send you that PDF later when I’m on my laptop :)

    • @thehopeboat2449
      @thehopeboat2449 2 года назад

      Hey thanks for this :) I read a fair bit on keto and autoimmune Paleo and was going to try keto but I was recommended not too by my clinic as they said it can often cause people with CFS to crash. So I never gave it a go but I did try autoimmune paleo which isn’t far off it, but tried to do it vegetarian and honestly it felt so much worse for my health due to the stress of trying to do it and how limited it was. But I have heard very good things from other people who have tried both these diets. For me, for now, I feel amazing and I eat pretty much everything now, though I mostly try to avoid gluten, and generally sway towards plant based. But I’m pretty relaxed at the moment :) I will check out that guys channel though! Thanks!

Even though we might think thick should be good over distance it is the movement of the sock that causes the pain rather than the physical impact . Hello! Very good question and one I always wondered about also. Im not sure to be honest. In some podcasts about FIR saunas I heard some talk about how the more expensive ones have different types of rays but I can't really remember. The one I use uses 5-15 micron range which is apparently the most beneficial wavelength for human health according to the website. I chose the fire zone one because it was in Dr Sarah Myhills book and was recommended by the clinic I see. But otherwise, Im not really sure what the differences are sorry!
