This channel is a place for me to talk about all of the cool projects that I work on in my spare time. As a kid, I dreamed of doing awesome things some day. As an adult, I now work to fulfill these dreams. Most of my dreams relate to things I liked as a kid: arcade games (especially laserdisc arcade games), old computers (especially the Apple //gs), and creating technology.

Bega's Battle Sync Gen Replacement - Flaws
Просмотров 67Год назад
I'm a perfectionist and so I tried to make the Bega's Battle sync generator replacement as perfect as possible. But despite all my efforts, there is a little horizontal jitter in the computer generated graphics as shown in this video. This is probably as good as it's going to get.
Bega's Battle Sync Generator Replacement - How to install

This video shows how to de-solder an original sync generation chip and replace it with a new sync generation replacement solution. Details: Bega's Battle is a laserdisc game from Data East that came out around 1983. Unlike other laserdisc games of the time, Bega's Battle contained a chip to generate its own video sync signals which its choice of laserdisc player, the Sony LDP-1000A, would sync ...

Punch-Out!! Arcade ROM mod to eliminate risk of burn-in
Wow! This is very impressive!
😎😎
This is awesome bubby ❤
KOLL!
There’s one on eBay right now for $5k
I had the exact same issues I got a replica expecting it to be good but it wasn’t so I’m part swapping them
I accidentally lifted the middle pad for the horizontal potentiometer on the right analog stick while replacing the unit. Is it repairable or am I completely screwed here? I can't find any schematics so I'm not sure if this pad actually goes anywhere.
Yikes
I'm so glad that it looks like Rick Dyer is living comfortably, and I'm ecstatic that I'm able to watch a fairly recent interview with one of the minor gods of gaming.
Nice soldering setup. You must do a lot of jobs to warrant a $600 setup; maybe cheaper when you initially got it, but that's the price for your setup now.
How the hell we meant to follow when its so fracking speed up
what are the products you put on the solder points before desoldering?
It's this flux ( www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01DR62IYY/ ) but I've since learned that using flux with a desoldering gun like the Hakko can cause problems. The flux can get deep into the guts of the desoldering gun and may require a lot of cleaning/disassembly to get rid of. If I were to do it again, I'd probably try to either not use flux or replace the filter right after using it.
@@mycoolprojects6367 thanks a lot for the info!
I need to ask: is the analog stick smaller than the Xbox/PlayStation ones? I have a gamesir gamepad and the analog stick is a bit smaller than the Xbox, making it difficult to swap or fix. I found a hall effect analog stick on Alliexpress that I want to test but, I need to now if it is smaller or not...
There are specific joystick models for the PS4, PS5, Switch Pro, Xbox One/S/X, and Xbox Elite controllers.
Wow, this is the cleanest footage I ever seen of Star Rider gameplay, thank you so much for sharing! I was able to rip the Sinistar sprite from the ROM files using Sean Riddle's Williams graphics ripper. I couldn't get the palette colors right for the biker sprites but I'm currently using Splat's color palette as a temporary workaround. I would love to figure out how the 6809-based sound board works, it seems like it would've been the next evolution of Williams 6800-based sound boards.
has anyone tried to put Wii U thumb sticks into a switch pro controller?
May I ask you a question about this? I wanna know the way to change the the game from cobracommand to roadblaster? Just change the EPROMs?
Yes.
thanks!!
l think this is not a ns pro controller, the pcb looks totally different. And it's not that soomth when doing the circle text 7:22,the spot stop a while when it goes to up-donw-left-right 4 side. We should make sure that the joystick's tow carbon film is FULL CIRCLE,not pieces.and spot stop issue will be resolved. Carbon film is in the green(orange) chamber.
He already said in the video that it's a knock off.
@@co8wei Oh I see!Thank you for telling me. My English is too bad that couldn't totally understand what he said. And I just learn a new word "knock-off"😅
Do you think it’s possible to attach a analogue stick from a completely different controller to a Pro Controller? Like using an Xbox stick?
Only if it has the same pins
So cool to see that game working
i what to plat it on saturn ok
Is the replacement still working? Just trying to gauge the longevity of replacement parts. Thank you.
Nintendo released some updated firmware for the Switch to permanently disable this controller so I just ended up tossing it and getting an authentic pro controller. :)
Thats awesome!!!
College tuition depleted on these games (and M.A.C.H. 3). Worth it.
Is this like a pi board with mame like playing..looks cool need a lcd light gun and play mad dog magree

Спасибо за проделанную работу. Имею такой же джойстик. Думаю тоже нужна замена, но таких же резисторов не нашел в интернете. Попробую от PS4

Any chance you take in orders? I have the same problem & don't know anything about what you just did lol. So just wondering if you do how much?

Wow. Hidden gem on RUclips. Was wondering if he’s still on north county San Diego. I know RDI was in Carlsbad / Leucadia.
I thought this was going to be a full walkthrough 😞
how can i get his info for a repair?
Awesome work !!!!
I have one thing to say to this.... KOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!

I have no idea how you got a hold of him, but I'm glad you did. This man is one of my heroes. I saw DL and Space Ace as a little kid, and they changed my life. God bless you for the wonderful Daphne emulator as well.
Absolutely awesome!!!
Thank you
How cool is that! Meeting the creator of Dragon’s Lair and so many other classic laser games!
I think the first text-adventure, both original text-only, and then later with graphics, was simply called "Adventure" ("Adventureland?") by Scott Adams (same title as the Atari 2600 / VCS game). He then had a whole series of 20 or 30...or more! I like to joke that there WAS a version of Dragon's Lair for the VCS...and it was called *"Adventure!"* ;-P
Me too , i have the same oven but the problem i have with , it is one of the dial button that whistling intermitantly ? when it whisling , i just touch it or turn just a bit from left to right and the sound instantly stop ?? this is very curious .

I literally bpight a real nintendo controller from the store and it broke in this way.
Its certainly possible that the buzz has always been there. Sometimes a ground fault interrupt can make the difference.
My man! I loved this game as a kid. Please keep this up! You will rival John's Arcade someday I hope.
The music is super chill as well :)
