🎵 'Vom Himmel hoch, da komm ich her' | Organ Performance by Manuel Böhm🎵
Today I have a little teaser from Marienstatt Abbey for you! I'm very busy at the moment recording a Christmas special in Marienstatt and wanted to share some of it with you.
'Vom Himmel hoch, da komm ich her' is one of the most popular German Christmas songs. It was written in 1535 by Martin Luther, who also set it to music four years later with this well-known melody👼
Although Advent is actually the time of waiting for Christmas and the birth of Christ, I wanted to share this piece with you this week.
A little foretaste of the upcoming videos just before Christmas, so stay tuned...☺️🎄🕯️
I hope you like my harmonizations...

🎵Canon in D - Johann Pachelbel I Improvisation by Manuel Böhm🎵 This time I was in the “Stadtkirche” in Biedenkopf and recorded one of the most famous classical pieces. The "Canon in D" by Johann Pachelbel was actually a "Canon a 3 Violini con Basso continuo" - canon with three violins and basso continuo, which he probably wrote for the wedding of Johann Christoph Bach, the older brother of J.S....

It is the oldest Gothic church in Germany and was built between 1235-83 over the grave of Saint Elisabeth (1207-1231). As always, BRILLIANT Manuel. Take care 🙂
@@michaeltreadwell777 Thank you very much 🤗🙏🎶 Stay tuned👋🎄🕯️
@OrganSoundsProduction I certainly will Manuel, I'm very interested in everything you do - you have a wonderful talent. Take care 🙂
Gentlemen, it has been a privilege playing with you tonight.
I have never heard these tonalities from a pipe organ. This is a remarkable instrument, and the good padre's musical musings are sublime! His improvisation is downright compositional and his registration glorious!
Beautiful 🙂
Je lauter und mehr Register je schöner. Und dann wird's wieder andächtig leise .... perfekt danke
You even wore the elfin shoes!
And this is really lovely. Thankyou.
Many artists tend to rush this song, either in sections or in its entirety. Perfect pace sir, thank you for sharing your talent.
@@PaddyPaddy-sx9sf Thank you very much 🤗🙏🎶 I just love this piece. Playing it too quickly doesn't do his character justice. I'm really glad you like it🤗 All the best, stay tuned!👋🎶
Thank you for this performance. You rendered perfectly one of my preferred song.
EXCELLENT Manuel, Great stuff 🙂
Excellent Playing Bro.. Peaceful and Heart touching Song Feel too Good GOD Bless you
@ 😁
Glorious.
Thanks!😊🙏🎶
Beautiful!
Beautifully played! BTW, Sarah Flower Adams did not compose this; she wrote the hymn - that is, the words. Lowell Mason was the composer of "Bethany," which is this tune, to which the hymn is usually sung in America.
Hand made in Marienstatt!❤ Bravo Manuel!
What can I say?! Thank you for sharing your version of such beautiful music.
Hi Manuel Böhm Is this arrangement available anywhere to purchase? Thank you :)
Hey, Unfortunately not (yet)🫣 I'd like to make an onlieshop in the next year(s)...☺️🎶 Then you can purchase this and many other arrangements. All the best, stay tuned!🤗🎶👋

Today we lost THE voice of the Dark Side of the Force. James Earl Jones, Rest in Peace. 93.
A favorite festival hymn of mine! I grew up in a tradition that did not sing it, but when I was in high school the school choir spent a long time learning to sing it precisely and musically so we would be prepared to join choirs from schools in the whole region of our state in the annual Eastern Central Illinois Choral Festival. With the hall filled with singers and orchestra, we shook the rafters. I am pleased you have played it. And so beautifully!
@@sabin615 Thank you very much!🙏🤗🎶 It is also one of my favorite hymns:) I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed it! Stay tuned 👋😊
As an organist I've always thought this would make a great wedding processional or recessional
Wonderful Manuel - keep it up 🙂
@@michaeltreadwell777 Thank you very much 🤗🙏🎶 Stay tuned:)
As old as time and magnificent every time. Classics in every sense. Magnificent organist.....
Magnificent..Bitter Sweet Symphony would be unbelievable in that young man's hands.....on that mighty organ......
More of powerfull sound like this, please.. ❤ Love it so much!
The first time I heard this piece was at a Great Aunt's Funeral held in the Seventh Day Adventist Church where it was large enough to hold the service. She was well known and had tons of people attending. I love this prayerful tune. I am going to have this played at my memorial service someday. ❤
Bravo! ...When's the Imperial March? 😅
@@AndrewHesterLaughThank you!☺️ Don't know yet😄
A fitting place to play such a lovely song.
Really beautiful
Wonderful World wonderful playing
I have never seen an organ with so many swell shoes. Is there 5? You played this fantastically, I love how the out of tune reeds add so much character to this piece. If I ever build an organ, I will make a stop called the Trumpet en Chemade celeste. Bravo sir, bravo!!!

The Final Duel must sound brilliant on this instrument... Just a thought, not a request, though I'd be surprised if you haven't thought about it yourself already...
I play the pipe organ foot pedals barefoot. I don't understand playing foot pedals with shoes on and being able to achieve any accuracy. I bet you don't play the keyboard with gloves on. See what I mean.
well done😀

Another BRILLIANT performance Manuel ! I love the split camera work - lovely to see your feed scampering away over those pedals. It's such fun watching and hearing your playing - thank you so much. Take care 🙂
