Today I am in the beautiful abbey church in Marienstatt in the Westerwald, Germany. I am pleased to present you my arrangement of “What a Wonderful World”, written by Bob Thiele (as “George Douglas”) and George David Weiss. It was first recorded by Louis Armstrong and released as a single in 1967. The song is well known from “Good morning, Vietnam”.
The large organ by the Austrian organ building company "Rieger" was inaugurated in the abbey church in 1970 and is known beyond Germany for its particularly beautiful sound(s).The organ has 73 stops, IV manuals and pedals and over 5000 pipes and stands above the stables of the choir stalls and accompanies the daily choral prayers of the monastic community and the congregational singing.
The acoustics in the church are fantastic and the many string registers of the organ make this piece shine in a new light. "What a wonderful sound!"

I would always feel better to hear church hymns inside a church, than secular music. Think about it? 🤔
@@user-fv5ms4sz8e Yes, of course. You are right. But I would like to show that an organ can play more than just hymns. Videos of hymns and classical music are also planned😊
