Sonex Transition Training
Просмотров 9 тыс.8 лет назад
This video is not flight training. It is not intended to replace receiving proper transition training. All pilots should receive training prior to flying a Sonex aircraft. On September 29, 2015, SBPF President Robbie Culver attended the factory T-Flight training program in Oshkosh, WI. This video is a short glimpse into that training. The audio is raw, and does not have any in-cockpit conversat...

Excellent demo of the turbo aerovee . The best I’ve seen. This vid was six years ago how is the turbo holding up ? I have the same engine thinking about adding the turbo to it . Thanks for sharing 👍

Poating for clout doenst last long.. youll end up dead or injuried severely.. the insurance company can now see comment ahead of the crash damage and death so they dont have to cover any of it any more. 😂😂 your the type of pilot that follow highways actoss america and think youre a bad ass pilot. Youre not😂😂

Informative video, thanks. What was your fuel consumption at cruise altitude at around 150 TAS? I agree that the turbo performs better at high altitude than a normally aspired engine but please remember for those flying out a 9100 ft. altitude airfield remember the prop and the wing aren't turbocharged, it's still going to take a while to get into the air.

That was such an awesome program, I wish it (or some approximation of it, at least!) was still available from Sonex! I think Joe Norris was the ideal person for the program, I think he did an awesome job with every single pilot he worked with and I'm glad that he remained with the EAA for all of those reasons. Sadly, I also completely understand why Sonex got out of the T-Flight training program (liability, insurance, general risk...)!!! But, it was a great idea, very well executed by Sonex & Joe Norris...Yeah, I'm a little jealous of those who got it when the getting was good! Hahaha

I'll be heading your way if the school is still going. If it is I would like to get a tail endorsement that way if possible. I would rather build mine as a tail dragged all the way.

good video. I have questions about the turbo due to flying in the desert in the Southwest. I am told with our pressure altitude it is the way to go. Thanks again.

What gas type are you running? When you hit 40 manifold pressure that's at 2 minutes at a time and 35 is cruise pressure right? how long between hitting 40 can you go back to 40 if needed?

7600 msl. high altitude? come on. my home field was 6700 msl, with TO DAs frequently pushing 10K. Am interested in the airplane. How does it do on TO at my conditions? how about cruise between 10 and 12,5K What's critical altitude on this set up? with FP prop is critical alt rpm limited? what's service ceiling? this vid based on a good idea, but lacks almost all information you ned to know for operations at medium alt.
