What a super fun idea! I may have to borrow it, if you are ok with that.😊 I’ve read all three of the books you read. I did love Belladonna and Heartless Hunter. Better than the Movies was cute. But I am very sensitive to swearing and there was a lot in the story. So it ended up not being as enjoyable for me.

Glad you enjoyed all the books. I was wondering why you were reading the Lynn Painter book. I had a similar reaction to Tweet Cute by Emma Lord. I didn’t know it was YA romance when I picked it up but wanted to give it a shot and loved it. I have also read one of Lynn Painter’s adult romance and really liked it.

If you want cozy, the Hallmark channel. Reading is for adventure, the unusual, thrillers, and mysteries! Totally agree with you.

Added a few books from this to my list of "want to read"s. The only one that I've already read is First Lie Wins, and I also very much enjoyed that one! I was hoping for a little bit more detail in the end, but besides that, I loved the overall story and how it all ended. You said you enjoyed the spy books and although it's not a thriller/mystery, I just finished reading A Song to Drown Rivers by Ann Liang and I really enjoyed it.

Great video. I’ve read a number of them and got some added to my TBR from you and the comments. The Good Sister is my favorite Sally Hepworth. I’ve also enjoyed Alice Feeney’s books.

Love so many of these (I'm here for all Blake crouch books)! If you like slightly speculative mystery books like dark Matter and 7 1/2 Deaths - you HAVE to try Adrift by Brideau which was my fave read of 2023. Amnesia, near future setting, really clever, I loved it and need more people to be talking about it! 😊. 🏡

I enjoyed The Silent Patient, but I love psychological thrillers. I remember reading Then There Were None probably 15 years ago, maybe it’s time to try more Agatha Christie. Have you read Recursion by Blake Crouch yet? I loved Dark Matter, and then I loved Recursion just as much. It’s different, but still has that Science fiction with some mystery and thriller.

Hi Angie, These are my very favorite types of videos because I am always looking for the best of a genre. My experience of The Secret History was so hopeful but eventually boring. After reading about 200 pages, I skipped to nearly the end and picked up it seems exactly where I expected the story to go. Two books later the author won The Pulitzer for her writing; so I will agree her writing was absolutely beautiful. I am just now reading Recursion which I hear most people liked even better than Dark Matter. The Woman in the Window introduced me to the thriller genre, I can still picture her umbrella! Such a great job compiling this list. Thank you!

The only one I’ve read so far is The It Girl, which I really liked. Definitely adding a bunch of these to my TBR. I keep meaning to read those Agatha Christie books but haven’t yet. Great recommendation list!

Author Richard Osman is an auto read for me, my heart was filled and crushed (in the best way) by the entire Thursday club books...I've never EVER reread a whole series but I definitely would these!!!

Thanks for the recs, have read some and added a couple. I finally started The City of Mirrors. Thrillers are so hit or miss for me. Check out We Begin at the End by Chris Whitaker. It’s a favorite mystery thriller of mine. That author has a new book called All the Colors of the Dark which I own but haven’t read yet. It’s got a 4.4 rating on Goodreads which happens very rarely!

My daughter just told me to read Someone Knows by Lisa Scottoline she said its the best book she has ever read.

I enjoyed Darling Rose Gold because it had an interesting premise, examining the unhealthy relationship between a mother and daughter.

I have The Secret History and The Seven 7/12 Deaths to read.

I recommend Daisy Darker by Alice Feeny. It has the And Then There Were None trope and is super fast paced and keeps you guessing! I gave it 5 stars!

The Fury....i read it and loved it. I have a crazy theory about the end that i dont want to say here but would be curious if anyone else wondered the same thing. Sorry to be ambiguous!!

I went through a thriller binge (after being scared of them for a long time!) and I have also realized that they rarely get 5 stars. I've had a few, but not many. I've also come to the conclusion that, for me, it's not worth buying thrillers. I only like to keep physical copies of total stand out books, and thrillers rarely qualify. So now, I get them through the library or on audio and that works great for me :)
