I wasn’t, but I will now!

Few weeks to go :D

Opinions change over time. When I did content on Claws and Askurgans I was more positive. As time went on, I found them lacking on the tabletop. Opinions are also like asses, everyone has one. Me and Offmeta have content focused on competitive because that’s what most people seem to want. Warcry is a complex game with almost 70 factions. Sadly this leads to all kinds of confusion even for us! Haha

So speaking from my point of view specifically; when I do warband reviews by themselves, im looking from a perspective of 'you like this warband so I'm going to show you how to get the most out of it, which fighters are the better ones, etc'. That's great if you want to play casually because most of the time you are playing a warband because you like it and not necessarily because your goal is to do well in events. The problem comes when you apply that to the wider pool of available warbands where there is totally a difference between the power level of those at the top and those at the bottom of the pile, and even within the same warband, if you want to play solo faction or take allies. I think a good example that me and toast did was our tierlist for the post-April format; IIRC we went through each warband and went a little bit into why they are placed where they were - that helps give a handle on where warbands fit in overall power whereas the how to play videos give a view on how warbands work internally. And yeah, there seems to be totally less of an appetite on YT for more casual focused content; It seems like even casual players like to know whats strong/whats not and how comp play is doing but not necessarily the other way around for comp players; It's a pretty big thing to take into account when each 20 minute video represents 3-4 actual hours of work XD

My stance is - there’s no reason not to be inclusive. It takes a mere second to add the last bit to my outro and if it makes a positive impact, then that’s awesome. As an aside, it sounds cool to say. Rolls off the tongue nicely

Thats an interesting interpretation, and you maybe be right. Doing 4 damage like that with the potential to do more is actually fairly solid. Still not great, but it has some utility when it comes to finishing off low enemies

They had a rough time as the meta has progressed, but they are fun to mess around with if you aren’t into the hyper competitive side of Warcry!

I couldn’t find a image for the halberd so I just used the closest equivalent hahaha. I really like them. I enjoy what they bring to the table. They are very squishy, but I had a pair of Halberds cut down an Akhelian King in a single round of combat…and man, that was a fun time. Since recording this video I’ve even used Thorned Grasp more times than I care to admit to deal the last dregs of damage on an enemy without having to waste and action XD

Sylvaneth are a very solid option for them, although I struggle to justify the Huntmasters when a +1M Prime exists and is cheaper. Biiiig fan of the Sword Huntmaster with +1A though, ngl. I also like Idoneth, weirdly. Elathain + the harpoon guy ( I think they are the same Bladeborn) give you a net, a decently tanky fellow, and a pull for a reasonable price all things considered. Throw in a cheap Runelord or go ballsy with something bigger and you’ve got yourself some decent control Edit - So an example list would be - Swarmsage Huntmaster with Sword +1A Elthain Ill-Fated Tammael Whip Whip Whip (or blade for variety) I believe that’s 1000 exactly. Elthain is a really solid bloke for 150 thanks to his varied profiles and surprising bulk. Huntmaster for a Anni-Prime with Hammer opens up 45 extra points for blessings too

Right here bud warcrier.net/docs/warbands/order/cities-of-sigmar-castelite-hosts/#brethren-of-the-bolt Warcrier is the best place for warcry rules. Even has a list builder.

Soul Shepherd is really fun, but often it’s too expensive to drop a triple when you could use those dice to have a more immediate effect. Give it a go though. I’ve always enjoyed messing with the funky lad.

Khagra’s Ravagers are really fun. They have a funky teleport which offers a lot of utility

As interesting tech pieces I could see them work. The teleport in particular would handy for objective missions for sure! I believe the Shadestalker is also the cheapest net Order can ally, and there’s certainly power in having one in your team :)

Sadly the Hunters box is a bit naff when it comes to giving you the models you really want. Conversions and kitbashes work wonders though

Divine Blessings was an optional system added in White Dwarf for matched play. You can find all the rules relating to them on Warcrier.net Shooting into combat is only possible if you have a ranged weapon with no minimum range (see Hexbane’s Pistol, or Bridget’s pistol as an example). In addition to needing weapon with no minimum range, you also need to be within 3” of the target you are trying to shoot. Hit those 2 criteria and you are good to go. That was a change brought in early into 2nd edition via games workshops FAQ. Hope that helps!
