my pb (6 months ago) is 8 flat but now probably like 8.30 coz i stopped training. Do you think Its possible for me to get sub 8 by april if i start training now
i think its pretty easier to get back to where you once was, much easier than having a fitness breakthrough. I think your sub 8 in 3 months is very possible.
i'm surprised u felt tempo workouts didn't benefit 2.4km for you. jakob ingebriegtsen does almost exclusively T and T+ workouts, rarely doing Vo2max or mile specific workouts... despite being a miler. that said, everyone responds differently. i've been alternating tempo (like 6x1k) and vo2max (6-8x400) on weekly basis for my own 10 week 2.4k program... if i don't get a good result i'll try dropping tempo in lieu of vo2 max or faster stuff.
hmm but we don't really know what he actually does besides reading stuff on the internet. Tempo would help 2.4/mile but i feel there's limited benefits especially the entire 2.4 is done probably higher than VO2max pace. But it could work who knows haha.
everytime i attempt z2 runs by hr i always end up doing more walking than running is that normal?
The heart rate is just a gauge. As u get fatigued, hotter and more dehydrated, hr will go up at the same pace. I think there's no point in walking just to get your heart rate down if it still feels good to run

Yep just for 2.4k only. Because we're not running in those energy systems for 2.4
How do you do easy run. Using heart rate or just by feeling.
I try and keep it below 75% of max heart rate for the entire run. A bit by feeling also

It's our military fitness test distance (8:30mins for full marks)

When you talk about the mileage, how long does it take for the mileage to translate into fitness? Would keeping 50km/week for 2 months be enough to see progress? What about compared to 6 months?
I find only a few days and you'll lose it after maybe 2-3 weeks.

Hey bro, since the bike leg is not draft legal, see if you might want to place an empty bottle or what down your suit in front of your chest for aerodynamic gains? 80km is not short.
Nope that's illegal in Ironman and t100 now, you can place ice in front of your suit tho

New but already 8mins for 2k is pretty fast! Im not sure if i can do 6mins also 😂 but id start with 200 and 400m intervals and those definitely have to be faster than 3:00min/k

Been running for 1yrs, i really dont train for speed i just enjoy running but i hv test run for jobs 2.4K passing time is 11.59Mins, i just do interval 400M 6x 2mins rest. my time interval run 11:40. Can i make it 11mins+ for the run test? 🥲 thanks for motivation.

Hope the wheels are good and durable enough....the course should not be too bumpy. Be careful of the expansion gaps on the way down sheares bridge, it's like a much faster / extended version of what you see on WCH or elsewhere. lol Some might be ok while others might be unsettling.

i think the garmin run club training helped. We had to run at our target pace which was lots of 4:45-5:15min pace runs for 8-18k twice a week

How to improve my 1km run times for (hyrox)? Do i do more compromised runnings i.e 1km to hyrox station or more intervals 1km intervals at race pace with 1:1 work rest ratio or more threshold/lactate threshold training i.e 2km intervals with 60s rest?
Depends which energy system youll be doing during hyrox! If youll be running at threshold then include threshold intervals.

@@MrFyce peoples 10km can be from 30mins to 1hr plus hahaha. threshold is roughly 1hr max effort. I like to do just 40min straight at threshold. no intervals.

I don't think the spikes are really all that useful for those who aren't training for track events. They probably add a ton of training fatigue due to the much lower amount of cushion. Maybe you should keep them if you want to explore doing some track events.
Even so idk if they are actually faster on the track haha. Maybe more testing needed
