Carefully take a look at EOS or EOE battery of Mercedes which explode by itself alone for example. Safety, safety, and safety. If BYD or CATL anounce a new technology for revolutionary safety technology, it would be worth. It is so easy for any company to increase energy density without considering safety for preventing fire or safer protection from car crash. Now how to achieve such safety with BLADE which is basically a complex shaped heat shield.

Nonsense Fake Dream! BYD or CATL never think about the safety or fire. Such wierd battery kills people even in car crash with no escape because of rapid fire explosion. It explodes so fast so no escape possible. Safety is much more important than energy density or capacity for longer drive.

I was wondering if you were talking about newer version of BYD Blade battery, but it did not seemed to be the case. The use of the safe Blade battery was what prompted me to buy Atto 3 which uses it more than one year ago ang to park it in our lock-up garage with confidence.

I never see things made by China last for long. The good things from China is cheap but not reliable

I believe EU, Japanese car maker should take advantage of BYD blade battery integration to their EV model and enhance range and create more competitive market for consumers choice. Love to see EV car from EU and Japanese since Chinese car design taste is lacking something , only to see copy ideas from other brands. No offense

High nickel(90% or more) NCM or NCMA batteries are more suitable than LFP batteries for the EV environment that require high discharge and charge, i.e., high C-rate. It is even better in low tempratures characteristics and energy density. LFP batteries may cause fire in high C-rate, so it is suitable for ESS that requires a low C-rate.

this article forgot that the BYD blade is already on the road since early 2023, Tesla uses the Byd blade LFP for its Model Y SR MiG (made in Germany). Way better charging than the current Catl and is on par with more expensive NCMs. The 2024 upcoming new blade LFP is next gen, same with the new Catl shenxing blade. Both improve performance again

Das ist ja die Krux bei den Elektrofahrzeugen. Es war immer zu befürchten, daß man zu Batterien kommt, wie die Beschriebenen. Sie sind einfach auf allen Ebenen besser. Das hilft den Elektrofahrzeugeignern aber herzlich wenig. Sie haben ja eines. Wer noch keines hat kann sich freuen. Wenn die Batterien jetzt auch noch kostengünstig werden, dann geht die Elektromobilität ab, weil die Elektrofahrzeuge preisgünstig werden. Das kann nur die Geldgier der Konzerne verhindern und ich befürchte, das wird sie auch.

How fast do these charge? I've read 15 minutes for 80% charge. And tech advancements for charge speed only seconds. With such charge speed, and batteries lasting much longer, it's far more practical than lithium.

Sodium ion batteries are the most futuristic tech we'll probably see for a long while. This is huge news. (edit: which apparently is not the chemistry of the Blade battery, as it is based on LFP chemistry)
