Without ready patch u will never make smoth base, I saw what light shows up which u hide 😅 Profesional painter who knows how sell product😊
You are right
Wish you would have stuck with brushing rather than using your spray booth, which alot of us don't have.
Hi George, I did it one brushing in the other one I didn’t to spit up the process and also to show you that there is no difference between the two If you use good quality, thin body acrylic urethane they shrink back really good and keep the grain very well define
Thanks man!
Happy to help!
Use aqua coat to level out the face then paint with cabinet trim enamel
🤪 better to replace doors then
Thank you for the precise, straight to the point, and helpful video.
I had to watch this in silence with the subtitles turned on because my HDMI splitter broke and I couldn't get audio. And whaddya know, my brain supplied you with a generic Yorkshire accent just on the basis of what you look like. I tried switching your imaginary voice to an american accent and it just would not stick. I wonder what you really sound like.
Don’t like the grain showing through. Ceruse? Scrolling on .
Thanks for the comment ☺️🖖 not sure how you’re scrolling and commenting at the same time 🤪☺️☺️ but much appreciated!
What about krud cutter? I think that’s what it’s called? For cleaning off tacky mess and grease. Also this was a super helpful video. I’ve been wondering if I am hiding the grain when I paint the oak cabinets in my kitchen. I feel confident in letting that grain pop 🥰
Just keep the paint thin and it’ll keep the grain open when paint dries
I am not showing industrial shyt then use a spray machine
Hehehe 🤭
I have 20 cabinets in my kitchen, I won’t live long enough to do this to all of them….
😁😁😁😁 it’s actually not that hard.. and very enjoyable project I should say
Rip
I don't like it because it doesn't show ENOUGH grain .. 💔
Absolutely. I should’ve gone over with a wire wheel instead of wire brush - that would’ve opened up a lot more
Now do the other14 doors and don't forget the cabinets. 🤔🤨😁
I’m with you,.. this is a very tedious process
How much would you charge a client per door?
For this type of finish - 60-80$ per door
You're doing everything good up until you use the spray gun 🔫 that's cheating shame shame😂😂
😁
Very nice, just a bit too much work ~ prefer just replacing.
Fair enough! We do it in 99 % of the cases - but this is a very unique look. 📸🤩☺️🤙
Beautiful! I'm wondering if I can do that with Knotty Pine?
Unfortunately it wouldn’t be the same look, the grain of the pine is different not as open and defined as of the oak
Any one try this and , if so, how did it turn out?
Yep . Couple people sent me their pictures! Love the results !
Привет! Отличный канал! Отличная работа! Спасибо, много полезного. Идея с франшизой звучит вдохновляюще Не так давно делаю refinishing and refacing in Washington DC area. С удовольствием подключусь к вашей программе. Привез опыт со старой родины, адаптируюсь к местным реалиям
Beautiful job! What color blue? And what brands of paints and glaze did you use. Thank you
It was blue navy as far as I remember. For the primer I used envirolak t 9000. For the topcoat I used Cic satin sheen single component polyurethane water-Born . And it was was Milesi glaze.
Great video Konstantin. The blue cabinet color with the black came out really nice. The white was not really my taste but if I could recommend you show the cabinets facing directly the camera lens instead of at an angle and maybe much closer so the effect is even more pronounced. Thanks for the great video!
🙌🤝😊
I got alot of great info from this, but that music that is intermittently coming on is annoying.
Hi Stacey. Glad you got something useful out it ! And thanks for the comment about the music 👌 I’ll keep that in mind for the future
It is stunning! Thank you Konstantin for such an amazing video! If there was a list of those products that you used or recommended in the video description or in the comment that would be awesome!
Thanks for the comment! I used Envirolak single component primer and the CIC single component polyurethane topcoat and I also used Milesi water based glaze
@@KonstantinUdalov Thank you very much!
Hi I’m from Ontario Canada where do you got the sprayer
This particular one I would not recommend, it was Sagola (from Spain) I really like PRONA , ASAHI , Kremlin. These are my fav brands. All priced differently though,
What do you use to tint BIN primer?
We rarely use that type of primer, but when you need a tinted, usually the store that sells it can tinted they use universal tint system
What brush do you use
I use the medium density, all purpose brush . I would definitely recommend brush for thinner paints, which means the bristles of the brush should have soft tips
????
☺️??
I like your technique! Very nice finish. Im getting ready to do my upper cabinets 🤞🏼
Awesome! Thank you!
Bravo! Mind sharing the name of the blue paint color (and brand) you used? I'd love to do this to our 1985 golden oak cabinets. Thanks
🙌☺️🤝 this particular one was Navy blue from Ben Moore
Not blue
What colour would you prefer bud ? I could potentially make another video.. just need an idea on the colour
White
Is sanding glaze off a must or can you just wipe it off with rags ?
This particular one is made for sanding. Very easy to sand. But there’s an oil like glaze - that one you can wipe off. I’m not a fan of those because of the adhesion problem that it creates. When you wipe off you can’t really sand after - if you do you can make the wiped off gaze disappear , but with the sand off glaze you create a good sanded surface ready to accept next layer (clear coat)
@@KonstantinUdalovthank you :)
Fantastic clip brother. thanks... now can you get my wife back?
How would they be related to the glazed oak process video bro ?
Отлично, то что надо! Спасибо!
Great video!! Cheers from Calgary, Alberta
Cheers bro! 😎 I love Calgary! Go flames go !
The blue looks gorgeuos, but the white, I prefer the first "result"
I agree 🤓 what would you use for the upper cabinets instead of white ? If we still want the glazed look ?
Definitely liked that finish with the black in the grain. I’m rewinding the video to get to that part again since I am in the process of doing this at home, so might add that step in between!
☺️🙌👏👏👏
Helpful tips, but I didn't find the before and after photos even when I clicked the link. If the condo was listed for sale, there should be photos you can add to the end of the video.
Great job thx
It was interesting to see how you tape the corner of the ceiling. In my country they always tape it to have a white line on the wall. 😅
What is your country ?
Products used in this video are water based and are as follows: Primer was Envirolak 1 component polyurethane primer Top coat was Centurion CIC Polyurethane 1 component. Water borne glaze was from Milesi. Clear top coat was Envirolak 1 Component Clear Poly
Thanks for the useful comment, one thing to add is all products water based 👌✅
Lot of talking with little showing. Not very helpful
Thanks for the comment ! I’ll keep that in mind for the next videos 🤝🙌✅
Hey Konstantin, wanted to ask what your thoughts are on SW Emerald paint doe cabinets?
It’s good on cabinets that are far away from the water , oils, heat and daily use. For kitchen cabinets 2 component polyurethanes are best (because of its chemical resistance and durability)
@@KonstantinUdalov thanks! Also is there any recommendations on how to paint cabinet interiors with an airless sprayer? I have a Graco x7 and bought a ff 310 tip. Not looking for perfect results since cabinets are beat up by previous owners. Any resources you could point to would be appreciated 👍 Thanks!
The navy door with the glaze looks beautiful but the white door glaze looks dirty.
I agree ☺️🤓
HI! well done.
Thank you! Cheers!🍻
so you took high quality oak doors and painted them....OOF may as well just bought $20 MFD doors from Lowes if your just going to paint them :(
You got it almost right 😉👌 I took a 30 year old beat up door and gave it a new life in the very interesting look
Konstantin, would it be the same process if the oak cabinets had a dark dark stain on them?
Yep I’d say so
OMG, the best video I've seen! I'm starting my project soon, and you were so helpful! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
For the top coat, can we just just any paint?
Clear coat ☺️👌
Hi could u list down the primer paint and product option and brand? Sorry I couldn’t follow clearly catch the brand u mentioned.
Cic , envirolak, there also circa , Milesi, renner, ica , sivam, and many other Italian polyurethanes
one more quesstion, is the blue top coat is infact a paint coat or is this the protective clear top coat?
The blue paint is step 2 (after primer) step 3 is glaze and step 4 clear coat to lock the glaze down
Thank you @@KonstantinUdalov
