      Konstantin,
      After reading Eric's comment I was thinking about all the different materials we use and like you said in your reply it's a lot to learn. Maybe a video breaking down the basics of each one would help some viewers along the way? I've been painting for almost 25 years and with the new products and tools we have now a days it's a constant learning process. Also I have discovered with every new product that comes out there is a learning curve involved to create the finish we are searching for. "Test dont guess" as Eric so plainly puts it is almost a necessity when using a new product or using a product again on a different substrate. Keep up the great videos you are very inspirational and professional!
      Thanks !

    Awesome video! I'm doing a kitchen DIY with Benjamin Moore Advance paint. Would you recommend a top coat?

    • @KonstantinUdalov
      @KonstantinUdalov  3 года назад +1

      As a DIY project any paint is good =) because let's be honest we don't expect great results from a diy cabinet painting . But fun stuff aside - I'd suggest to use bin primer - and 1 component polyurethane as a top coat. Not as durable as 2 component - but way better than any acrylic DiY paint.

      @@ds1867 you could get some from Innovative manufacturing : they sell Renner and Milesi. Also Richelieu sells ICA poly. Also if youre local - you could bring your doors and drawers to our Shop - we'll do them for you in 2 component poly ( and you'll save a lot if you do the boxes yourself ) our shop is at 8918 Shaughnessy St Vancouver. text me at 6043887333. Or google those guys and tell them your with constanta Group but will pay with a credit card over the phone - this way youll use our prices

      I spray 2 component polyurethane until it’s filled. No waist of time with spreading out the grain filler. Or better ordering new doors which is what we’re doing more of now

    Great vid as always ....did you get everything from richelieu or box store, and if the poly is self seal ,did you spray 3 coats or only 2, what are the steps if you client want to change the color (stain,glaze, top coat) same coats of clear poly? .... finally you fans and the ducts come from richelieu? Thanks man🤜🏽🤟🏽

    • @KonstantinUdalov
      @KonstantinUdalov  3 года назад +1

      Hey Juan 😊👋 that’s a lot of questions in one comment:
      Here’s the answers 😄👍:
      1) ducts and fans come from Global Industries (their website)
      2) I didn’t get anything from the box store neither Richelieu (if you talk about paints - I got them from my local Milesi distributor Innovative Manufacturing in Vancouver on this project )
      3) 2 k poly solvent is kinda a self seal - but to make it faster and easier I go first with 2 k isolante. It’s an isolating undercoat - and then 2 coats of top coat.
      4) if my client wants to have a natural wood look (which is rare) - it’s more expensive- and here the steps would be strip everything down, sand - and new process of stain and clear coat.
      If it needs to be a tone darker - that we can do shading (clear coat mixed with a bit of stain)
      5) glazes are different animal - isolante, primer coats , glaze, 2 clear coats .

    I really think you are stretching with the formaldehyde. You are acting as it off gases forever. Also how are you lumping water base coatings with formaldehyde with CV and post cat lacquers?

    • @KonstantinUdalov
      @KonstantinUdalov  3 года назад

      Legit point Eric ! 😊 I put it the best way I could . That is my personal 2020 version of “cabinet refinishing everything I know “ 😊
      When it comes to off gassing- probably not forever, but for years. (As far as I know and as the peeps who know their stuff say)
      Water based high quality urethanes with traditional-coatings in the same group - yes I agree that a bit too broad to put in one bucket - but my intent was to make it look this way: bad, good , the best. Otherwise I feel like it’d be too much . (However I broke down all those sun categories as good as I could)
      And man😊 you know it’s a very complicated topic - bro you have a whole channel about it!
      By the way- everybody - go check out Eric reason on RUclips! 👍

    Hey I saw you use BIN primer and Milesi 2K. What about Milesi primer and what about Milesi 1K? Just curious if you have a reason for using BIN or if you have done any durability testing 1K vs 2K? Thanks!

I am probably crazy, I am just a DIY homeowner, but I have an airless sprayer with an FFLP208 tip and I am going to buy some Milesi primer and topcoat to do my kitchen cabinets in white... Polyurethanes. I prefer 2 component polyurethanes . Either water or solvent based. Brand names : Milesi, Sirca, renner, envirolak, Cic. Just google these names and see who has it locally
