WOW! WOW!
Thanks
Thanks so much for the super thanks! It is really appreciated! Helps me to keep the videos coming 😊
Hi Mark, Hope you are well. Another great video. Could you tell me if you use a tablet or panel to get more accurate masks etc. If so is their one you would suggest using? Have you tried Astropad? (Don’t know if this is any good!). Thanks Videos are very helpful.
Thanks so much for watching. I don’t use any tablet, just the track pad on my MacBook Pro. I have used a Wacom Tablet in the past, but I don’t really use it at all lately. I haven’t tried Astropad at all.
@@MarkDumbleton thanks Mark.
Brilliant!
Thanks
Thank you so much! I truly appreciate the support!
Absolutely love this, thanks Mark. I’ve been wanting to experiment with some B&W edits.
My pleasure. Thanks so much for watching and for the comment.
Thank you Mark.
My pleasure, thank you for watching!!
I really enjoy your wildlife processing tutorial, thanks Mark.
That means a lot, thanks so much!
Thanks Mark, Love the editing technique !
Thanks so much for watching. Hope you found some tips in the video you can use!
Thanks Mark. Well done once again
Appreciate it a lot, thank you!
Just downloaded your pack - super helpful to have these presets to improve workflow. Thanks for making this free!
Thanks so much for signing up for the preset pack! Hope you find some value in it 😊
Great edit Mark. Hope Kruger was good to you.
Thanks so much Kobus! Kruger was great 😊
Love the editing technique!! Nice video as always
Appreciate it a lot! Thanks for watching 😊🙌🏻
Thank you Mark for a great tutorial, and the presets.
My pleasure, hope you find the preset pack helpful!
Always interesting, and always leaving me feel like I can't use LR else I'll destroy my image as I have zero knowledge compared to you!
Best way to improve is to keep trying: the upside of living in the digital age is that you can work nondestructively, as many times as you want.
You can’t destroy any image, you can just reset the edit and try again. I experimented a lot when learning how to edit, and made many mistakes in the process.
...again, another thank also this week, for the tutorial and for the presets.
I appreciate that a lot! Thank you!
where did you get the flat v2 profile ?
Hi Nick, it’s a profile that comes with my Nikon Z8.
what a good sharing thanks mate!
Some wonderful fresh takes on compositional guidelines. Very well done. Thank you.
Thanks so much for the comment 😊
Oh man thank you! I’ve been looking on how to do this
Hope you found the video useful, thanks for the comment!
Just .... AMAZING video and shots!
Do you mind sharing the settings you used for these video shots?
Thanks so much for the comments. I try and keep my shutter speed at 1/50 and use an aperture and ISO to get a good exposure on the scene. If the exposure gets too bright, I either use a variable ND filter to keep my shutter speed at 1/50, or I just increase the shutter speed.
The tip to consider the background and/or other distracting objects more. Thanks Mark! Africa is on our bucket list, but these tips can apply to our big National Park trip Fall (Banff, Glacier, Yellowstone, Tetons).
Thanks so much for watching! You need to visit Africa 😊
Amazing tips thanks for sharing them! 👍📷📷
My pleasure, hope you found it helpful.
Thank you for sharing :)))
My pleasure, thanks for watching and for the comment.
With that accent where else would you be from.
Haha true!
Wow, is that what "Auto ISO" means?
Thank you for the comment!
we need more videos like This!!! Thank you
Plenty more coming! Thank you for the comment!
Interesting video, thanks. 2:51 - tress
Ah thanks for pointing out the spelling error 😂
always autoiso also with flash. it’s important to set the ex comp for flash in ttl and the range of max iso.I always set matrix because it’s way less risky
Thanks for sharing this information.
Couldn't finish this amazing video without subscribing!
That means a lot, thanks so much for watching and for subscribing 😊
Hi Mark - great video as always. Like the idea of a dodge and burn “subject”. Quick question, perhaps I’ve misunderstood - why do you increase the exposure on the dodge before you brush and decrease before you burn? Why not just use the original exposure?🤔
Thanks so much for the question. Hopefully I understand your question 😊 (if not please reply) I start with a decrease or increase in exposure so I can see where I am painting and the effect it is having. I will change the exposure value to taste if it’s too much or too little. You could just use a brush and change the exposure (will give you the same effect) but I like using the subject select first, because If I use a normal brush with no subject mask and go beyond the subject, you’ll see that error. Interesting the subject mask with the brush afterwards limits the dodge or burn to only the subject.
Great video Mark. Such good advice.
Thanks so much Kobus! Thanks a lot for watching.
This was great Mark, thanks.
My pleasure, thanks so much for watching!
Love the examples provided in the video!
Thanks so much Bogdan. Appreciate it
Super helpful and informative video Mark! Could you perhaps make a video in the future with information on how to monetize your wildlife photography? Thank you!
Thanks so much, glad you found it helpful. That’s a cool idea for a video, I’ll see if I can get that together sometime 😊
Thanks Mark. Another great video. It is also a reminder to myself to slow down and create a good composition before taking photos. This is especially true when making images with the Z8 in burst mode ;-).
Thanks so much for the comment Garnet! Haha I suffer too from the 20fps of the Z8 and shooting before thinking too much. 😊
As cameras improve (to an insane level) and become more affordable composition will become the differentiator for photographers
I completely agree. It’s getting so much easier to take photos, but it’s where you point and the precise moment captured that will make the difference. That all comes from experience.
It has been for a long time already
Yea. I cant agree more. Composition is key.. And its the very first step and thing people need to learn or practice for good photo... And the cool thing about it is composition dont cost alot of money.. it's just talent of the user or practice. Next is learning to see light and learning to edit their photos. But most people especially new user fail to see all this. They only think about gear and more gear.. 2:20 .. That photo of 4 baby cheetah is good! To me.. not really about odd or even... it's the flower on the left that is really distracting.. perhaps the right 1 too. crop or mask them away.. and the images instantly become alot better. At least that's what i'll do.
I really appreciate the input on the composition idea for the Cheetah. Learning composition can set you apart in a big way to other photographers.
Magnificient video!!
Thank you 😊
Amazing works of art, congratulations!
Thank you so much for the comment! I really appreciate it 😊
