Best Lightroom video for wildlife I have seen on RUclips and I have watched many! The content on your channel is so valuable , I am learning so much from it. Thank you mate.
Hi Mark, Hope you are well. Another great video. Could you tell me if you use a tablet or panel to get more accurate masks etc. If so is their one you would suggest using? Have you tried Astropad? (Don’t know if this is any good!). Thanks Videos are very helpful.
Thanks so much for watching. I don’t use any tablet, just the track pad on my MacBook Pro. I have used a Wacom Tablet in the past, but I don’t really use it at all lately. I haven’t tried Astropad at all.
Hi Mark - great video as always. Like the idea of a dodge and burn “subject”. Quick question, perhaps I’ve misunderstood - why do you increase the exposure on the dodge before you brush and decrease before you burn? Why not just use the original exposure?🤔
Thanks so much for the question. Hopefully I understand your question 😊 (if not please reply) I start with a decrease or increase in exposure so I can see where I am painting and the effect it is having. I will change the exposure value to taste if it’s too much or too little. You could just use a brush and change the exposure (will give you the same effect) but I like using the subject select first, because If I use a normal brush with no subject mask and go beyond the subject, you’ll see that error. Interesting the subject mask with the brush afterwards limits the dodge or burn to only the subject.
These are great. For the initialization preset, I do the exact same thing, but I have it as part of an import preset along with my meta data and keywords in the import dialog window. That way it’s done while it’s importing and I don’t have to do it afterward.

I just watched your video on African gear, I enjoyed it. Question, what guide outfit did you use and do you recommend them? Thanks
Thanks so much for the comment. I’m not exactly sure what you’re referring to? Are you asking about the clothes for guides?
Brilliant as always. Thanks
Thanks so much Giles! Appreciate it a lot!
Great insight thanks Jim
Thanks so much for watching dude!

That’s an excellent way to use the initialize preset, saves a ton of time! Thanks for sharing 😊
Great tip - thanks, hadn’t thought of that!
where did you get the flat v2 profile ?
Hi Nick, it’s a profile that comes with my Nikon Z8.
As an ex SA resident and cutting my teeth on wildlife photography in Londolozi, I really appreciate your tips on your channel.
Thanks so much David! Londolozi is a lekker place to do some photography 😊 some amazing Predator action I’m sure!!!
@@MarkDumbleton Sadly, Londolozi is now out of my price bracket, but I go to Inyati every couple of years.
