Hit The Lights (Ron McGovney's Garage Tape, 1982)
This Tape HAS to Be Remastered. The Sound is So Awful That i Can’t Hear James’ Vocals.
the way james used to sing these songs is amazing so much more 70s
🎶maybe now the pope will bow and kiss my ring, I wanna be king!!🎶
I like how Mustaine kinda remixed the solo a little to his own
Fuck it. Call me crazy but i think Mcgovney was better than newstead
Dave Mustaine 🙌🏽🙌🏽
More oak ridge boys
The oak ridge boys rock
Ron McGovney is one badass, motherf*****
não é metallica é cancion de seveigh
4 Diamond Head songs; well it safe to say Metallica ripped off DH style...
If they replace their lead guitar player and bass player then they might get somewhere.
Pure AF
Nice solo Dave!
Ron would have been suited playing for the Oak Ridge boys band.
Still slaps! 🤘
I think Dave kicks ass on these!
Lyrics: Over and under, do you go down to the sea Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Sweet and timely caress, dear babe fulfillin' me I can feel her heart, it is beating down inside Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Tasty, tasty, tasty, tasty Into her valley, all her charms taste of love Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Fragrance of my dreams, yeah go down, take my love Oh yeah, yeah Taste my bitter wine, cos there's something boiling up inside Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Tasty, tasty, tasty, tasty Faster......love.... Make me go..... Shoot me Faster, faster Love, sucking my love Oh Lord, sucking my love Oh Lord, sucking my love
ron could lay down a bassline
His garage his rules…
"The First Metallica"-Dave Mustaine
The band that changed the face of Heavy Metal in 1982!
no, they changed it in 1984. In 1982, they were still building up to it :)
Guitar has very little distortion--- sounds like Motorhead guitar -- Lars sounds like he just started drums
he always does
Way more groovy than I was expecting, love hearing that bass!
Ron played it until Cliff wrote it slightly different in Kill Em All
James and Lars were 19 years old. That's mind blowing.
not even, still 18 technically because they were born after march
Finally a copy at the right speed
nie da się tego słuchać
Thanks for posting this. I hadn't heard this take before.
Man this base player Ron McGovney is a beast..All thanks to Lars and Hetfield and the way they are for falling ouit with the rest this original lione up ceased to exist
then they got cliff who was 10000x the player
If you are a true metallica lover you’ll love this👍👍👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Love this old footage, keep it up
Fuggin awesome
bass so loud and good.. makes me wonder if he recorded recently and remixed for these posts…
Ron actually had a pretty decent level of playing, I didn't know that.
even dave and james said he could have gone far if he continued with music
I'm pretty sure young Mustaine could play Lights Out in his free time. That's how good he was back then. I can hear the Schenker influence on those leads.
Dave more in time than the rhythm section.
So this is what ruined James and Lars.....After this there was never much bass again lol
i like this guitar sound more than album version. sounds slower but better to me
I hear an Iron Maiden reference
Is there any rhythm guitar on this, or James just doing vocals? Guitar sounds thin
yeah james is only vocals
Lars sucked then and still sucks now
This is pretty good sound for a garage tape.
This whole garage session KILLS the whole Metallica aura! Dave said hell with Metallica I'mma Megadeth, bitches!!
Well no, they fired his drunk ass. He also was and still is an asshole.
No he got fired and has been sad about it for 40 years
its crazy how different some of the parts are of the bassline compared to when cliff did the song. But also how Ron was perfect in his parts. not getting in the way of the guitar, the bass just enhancing it all. excellent hearing the OG lineup.
You can hear the bass for once!
Mustaine inventor of thrash. Yes, I know it Diamond Head on Meth
Hmmm 'inventor' 😅
@@imagereflection4826 yes, who you gonna say? Don’t laugh with no answers
@@christopherpooler5398 Well James and Lars had thrash songs before Dave joined, bands like Exodus (Kirk Hammett) were doing thrash things. It was really bands like venom that first mixed NWOBHM and punk which is what thrash is and James and Lars were doing that before Dave
@@imagereflection4826 😂
@@christopherpooler5398 True though
Lol that solo was migraine inducing!😂
Drums are the worst. If they get rid of that L. Ulrich, this band could go places.
They wouldn't have got anywhere without him
@@imagereflection4826 True, it is my understanding he brought thrash with him from Europe, and was most likely the driving force behind the band we know today. Regardless, my ranking on this recording. 1) Guitar 2) Bass 3) Vocals 4) Drums.
@@unperson5713 Yea what he lacked in drumming skill (though he was great in the late 80s) he excelled in his knowledge of pro Thrash bands and how to create a new sound with Metallica, he also was a great networker and got the band noticed, signed and took them to huge success, they definitely wouldn't be the biggest band in the world without lars
I’m here for the comments from all the unsuccessful musicians berating the most successful musicians, and as usual there’s a bunch of them
I wanna hear a Black Sabbath version of am I evil
for me Metallica was teenage early 20's phase where as Sabbath is everlasting, timeless legendary
I freaking love hearing the early version of these songs, thanks to whoever Posted them🤘
