I’ve been outraged since they switch to subscription model

Interesting video, it's the 5th I viewed in a row about pros and cons regarding Adobe in modern days. I used to use CS2 all the time back in the days. I'm the CCO/CTO for a few companies and in charge of selecting the tools for our designers, and I'm choosing to avoid Adobe. We have 50 to 70 workplaces that would use a variety of creative software and Adobe was on the list of choices to consider. Not anymore. Your video hit the last nail in the Adobe coffin. Thanks for taking the time to make this video and saving us a lot of money and frustration :)

If you hate that EVERYTHING is now subscription based, you can thank Adobe for that. They were the pioneers in starting the subscription based model.

Fuck adobe. i stopped using them as soon as subscription came in. i despise their crooked ways. Fuck adobe.

I used to have an issue (and still have it) where my RTX 2070 would just crash beyond like 70k pop. Unfortunately it took me over 2 hours to get to experience the issue, so Steam wouldn't refund me. The issue still occurred last time I checked a month ago

Microsoft, Google, Facebook, Apple and others also pass on data to Western governments and companies. It doesn't matter which browser you use, the data is usually used to sell users stuff that nobody needs.

When I feel like it, I use a bootleg copy of PS, but I had dropped CC as soon as the price per month went up from $20/month....it started at $10/month, and went up by $10 each year. Like I'm stupid enough not to see how much money that adds up to. They couldn't mess with me as far as early termination goes, because it wasn't early, it was right on time. I bought Affinity Photo and Design, and am currently using a six-month trial of Photo 2 and Design 2. Eventually, I'll pay them for it, especially if the price drops--I'm poor. Last time I tried to install my copy of CS5, it wouldn't register...dicks. I do find that PS is a bit better at a couple of things, so I'll use that bootleg PS when I need to do those things, but that's it. I use ADE to download ebooks, but that's the only Adobe software I use. If I knew of an alternative to ADE, I'd be using it...maybe I should be looking for one.

Still got my end run G5 maxed it out with memory a few years ago and added SSD to it, added the not so official OSX update and it works well. Does the job its meant for.

Paid for photoshop for a year then switched to procreate, iPad and Apple Pencil. But the creative cloud software still won’t get out of my laptop. I hate adobe so, so much!

I work for a college that has subscriptions to this crap. They want me to use it.....I still use GIMP instead XD

Uninstalled it today... using it since 2 years but this app is so broken... oh my god... the only good thing is the sidebar... the rest is not bad... it is literally broken!! Creating random directories on your ssd... telling that the space for downloads is full even if you have a lot of free space... like folders can be full now??

I've been hating Adobe since they killed Freehand. And they didn't even make Illustrator more like Freehand. Nope. They just killed it. Fortunately by the time they moved to a subscription model we already had Clip Studio and I didn't depend on Adobe anymore. However, the biggest problem with the rest of graphics software is that most of them aren't ready for outputting CMYK, nor properly support color profiles. Affinity photo has it, but it's a pretty poor support (last time I checked you could export to CMYK but color profiles weren't part of it). Clip Studio has a decent one, but not as good as Adobe's. I still use my old CS5 from time to time to verify the CMYK output is correct. Every other software simply doesn't have it. If they did Adobe would be out of business pretty quickly.

I like that the first ad at the end of your video was for Adobe PS. 😅

Did you know they have an East Indian CEO that makes like $45M a year? And we wonder how they pay for that salary.. but raping their customers. I worked for them briefly in 2008-2010 and was let go because I was the last US-based developer on my team... all the others had been moved to India. Sounds like a conflict of interest to me.

Monopolies are encouraged, and collude with governments. We are not a free society.

Welcome to 2024 and out of 2010 every company has gone to asubscription sales model (Microsoft with Office, Sirius/XM/ Quickbooks to name a few). This is a great source of constant revenue to the company at a great detriment to the customers but if they fall for it that is on them. PDF - For PDF files I use Nitro 8 that allows me to edit I got it for free. Virus software - Norton/MCAfee? - heavily bloated not very efficient virus software I opted for the vree version of Avast very happy with it. TV/Cable - For TV I do not pay a penny rather I jailbroke a Firestick and get every sport, from any country including all UFC fights for free was paying $160/mo Microsoft Office - I bought Office 2019 (the last version that allowed for me to own it rather than use later versions on the cloud which require a monthly subscription that saves me probably $60/mo Sirius/XM - one of the most dishonest, ugly co's out there when trying to deal witjh them.. .NEVER GIVE THEM YOUR PHONE NUMBER! Make one up trust me! I use free Pandora Movies - no Redbox, DVD's, Aamzon Prime, etc I get them from 1337x or Piratebay watch any movie ever made free takes maybe 7 mins to download once you figure it out. Cell service - Went from Verizon, which I really liked, saved 50% by switching to Google Fi. Better coverage, free service in the other countries I visited my bills went from $65/mo - @$30 overnight. Subscription-based sales models are awful! I do everything in my power to avoid them like the plague

They want continuous revenues because it makes the company worth more. It is stockholder value that counts. Indeed a nasty practice which unfortunately is done by many software companies these days.

Feel bad for any console player who preordered

I miss the good old days when buying something meant owning it forever until I break it or don't want it anymore. Everything (specifically apps/software for art or any app even) is becoming subscriptions-based now and it's very frustrating. 😓

At one point I saw a RUclipsr talk about Opera GX for a sponsorship and to show how Chrome is a “resource hog” they had 800 new tabs open instead of what normally people would use. Edit: also penguin0 uses legit every browser, Edge, Chrome, Opera GX, and god knows what’s next. Internet explorer?

GX sucks, but Iowkey love regular opera c.c It has everything GX has, is more optimized, and has more features. I did not watch the video yet, I just wanted to share. Edit: Post watching and skimming comments. So it's got the same flaw as the other major browsers, and has some features you don't like, shit video, give me my 9 minutes back. Also, unless you're using certain builds or your own build of linux, you shouldn't really care about apps collecting data, your operating system is collecting more than any app you could use besides legit malicious spyware.

I've always said Adobe is 'evil'. I've been saying that for over 20+ years and that's one company I knew that I would never work for. I just hated the way Adobe products takes over your computer system without your permission. I knew that someday would spy on you by looking at your content. That's just pure criminal. Accessing data on my computer, is just like breaking into my house, this is a crime. What's next, stealing images, data from your computer and reporting it to the government?

And for some reason, Adobe is harvesting personal info from your cell phone!!!!!

Everything you note in this video is not a problem for me. Except for simulation speed but I'm not sure what you expected with a simulation game that runs on Unity and they told you it was going to be demanding.
