yo man great design love the video but i noticed 1 thing that is, the corners of the pcb are not rounded of, this can cause injurys because the way the pcbs are manufactured the pcbs can get some sharp edges.

muy bueno!! una consulta, yo me habia armado por ejemplo el que es como el spot mini, con 12 servos, lo imprimi y todo, lo unico que habia conseguido para mover los servos es el I2c Pca9685, vos que usas para manejarlo? arduino? o raspberri? yo tenia pensado usar un arduino uno, o mega, habia comenzado con un mega pero ahora lo mude a la impresora 3d, asique estoy medio al horno, porque veo que el uno se me quedara corto, nose si puedo poner varios juntos, aunque veia por ahi que mencionabas lo del imu, tengo un imu de 9 ejes aunque nose si me sirve con el arduino uno, porque vi que a diferencia de otros imus es mas complicado, tambien me consegui un gps :d, y hace poco me consegui un bluetooth, y el regulador de voltaje, que lo pedi porque conecte algo mal y de entrada creo que ya que creo que jodi un par de servos por no poder ajustar los 5v, :s , pero por ejemplo tengo tambien una raspberry que podria llegar a usar, aunque no pude hacer nada en raspbian (si pude meterle w11ow10 y conectar al arduino lo cual es un avance), tambien me consegui varios sensores de ultrasonido, una de mis ideas es manejarlo desde el pc, ir mapeando el entorno etc. con todo esto de la ia, encontre un git, de spot micro que incluso entrena virtualmente, pero no te ponen nada de como lo armaron, ni como usar eso que aprende, si pude levantar el gimnacio virtual , que fue bastante complicado porque no andaba nada en pyhton, y dejarlo simulando en diferentes entornos, aunque nose si aprende mucho, pero bueno tampoco se volcar esos datos al robot en si o que precisaria de hard, capas usan un jetson nano o algo asi y chau, para ello, otras cosas que investigue por ejemplo , con ia, aunque ya dependeria del pc, es de usar reconocimiento de objetos con yolo, reconocimiento de voz, reconocimiento de rostros, tambien otro que es para hacer segmentacion de objetos en una foto, y ahora hace poco estuve provando una ia que te vuela la cabeza, que se llama llava, la cual con una imagen, te describe al instante casi todo lo que ve con un llm, asique podes decirle, ves tal cosa? de que color es? y te dice, si veo el mouse, ponele y es blanco.. , es bastante compleja de usar la ia esa, y en mi caso me andaba medio cuando queria, nose si esta muy justa mi rtx, o la ram, pero pensaba cuando este en el punto que estas vos ,con algo remoto tomar imagenes, que el perro saque la foto, y la ia sepa lo que ve, y actue acorde. podes hacer que haga lo que quiera basicamente, porque entiende el entorno, en algunos aspectos es tan avanzado que podria detectar ciertas cosas, como emociones, creo que ahora gpt4 permite hacer cosas parecidas aunque no lo tengo ,asique no lo se. pero abre tambien un abanico a hacer algo con apis, (via internet)

At 4:38 how do you collect data when you push it? Isn't the servo locked in that position?
Yes, servos lock position depending on its own internal potentiometer. But when a load is applied small deviation from desired position is shown, so directly reading this potentiometer in the microcontroller (the analog signal that appears in the video), I can calculate the difference between desired position and real position. Then PID controller is used to keep this difference at zero.

Amazing project! One thing i noticed is the feet of the robot dog aren't doing much friction with the ground, probably this is the cause of the slippering. If the dog has some sort of rubber feet this could help it go higher on the leg movement and doing more faster movements

Great project. How would you compare PyBullet and Gazebo? As I have seen from the project files that you have used PyBullet for simulation. I have used Gazebo for quite a time now and I think that Gazebo's simulation environment is hard to set up and handle. Could you give me a summary of the simulation environments used for robotics like Gazebo, PyBullet, MuJoCo, Webots, etc.? Also what works best/widely used in the industry? Thank you :)
Hi, thanks for the good words. I don't have proper experience with other physics engines for these task, some time ago i read a paper that talks just about that (now i can't remenber the name, but you can find it easily on google) it compares gazebo, pybullet, mujoco and some others performance and precision, the conclusions were all of them are really close to reality when well tunned. Thanks for the idea for a future video!

Where are you downloading the files? They should work fine, there are other people who did print my files without problem. Here are the robot files (download STL_files.zip and unzip it) : hackaday.io/project/171456/files If you want to modify the 3D model, then you can download STEP files, but if it is only for printing them, go for the STL.
