Thank you! I use rustoleum ultra matte black. It covers great! Just be sure to wet sand the body with 1000 grit. And after you paint to let it sit for atleast 2 days to harden up. The ultra matte has a great sheen. Its not to shinny or dull.

@@charlesalexanderjr2247 You definitely nailed the sheen! Out of all of the paint jobs on the McFarlane customs, yours looks just like the movie. Did you wet sand by hand or or use a Dremel? How many times did you wet sand? Haven't modified any toy vehicles before, but your videos inspired me to give it a try. I'm waiting for my CAG set from Ramen Toys because I wouldn't be able to alter the canopy myself lol

I soaked in boiling water a minute then you have to pull the head forward while slowly cutting under the cowl from the back to the front

It took 3. I find that the cheapest tp you can find really works best. I used the walmart brand 4 roll pack. Its usually just one layer. Some areas may need a second ,like harder to reach verticals like ceilings

@@charlesalexanderjr2247 So only one layer of TP? Wait, so you didn’t try to make the TP look rocky and its texture you tried to make the foam look rocky and it’s texture and then just covered the foam with flat pieces of 🧻 or did you try to manipulate the TP ?

@@FigureNerd108 , i roughed out rocky shapes in the foam.....some rock i used air dry sculpting clay to perfect the details. Then a layer of tp .with more detail and undercuts it takes a bit of patience with the tp. Definately do a dab instead of trying to brush.. Its amazing how hard of a shell it makes.

Its a paint i got at hobby lobby. Decoarts extreme sheen. Sky blue topaz metallic paint. One light coat give the perfect shimmer effect

Hey buddy,always good to hear from you! I dont use an exact ratio. Kinda just depends on the job. If im working a spot thats going to on a vertical area ,i will mix it more thick. But usually i mix a 1 to 1 ratio. 1 bottle of glue then same bottle with water....(shake to get all glue out). As far as the amount of paint, i just mix in enough to get color i like. The wet look of the rocks is a happy side effect of the glue. I use toilet paper because its so cheap lol. I have used paper towels but i find the little dots on most shows up to much after dry. You can use mod podge to but the really cheap paper glue works just as well. I also find that just useing a few few squares of toilet paper at a time works best. Wetting the project with a bit of glue mixture before applying/ dabbing paper works nicely to. Thank you again for watching ,i really appreciate it my friend.

@@charlesalexanderjr2247 you know, I’m papier-mâché right now and I’m finding that the smaller the torn pieces are the more crannies and facets I can fill in. If the pieces are too large, they tends not to conform to the shape. I also made the mistake of using the brown paper bag paper, which is too thick. I’m going to start using toilet paper because it probably absorbs the glue water mix much faster and Ormes to whatever surface much easier than brown paper. This mistake taught me though so no harm done. I really appreciate your quick response and I’m going to try the mix. Thank you very much.

Thank you! Of coarse i dont mind. I always welcome questions. Everything i used are really easy and common to get. I use alot of pvc tubeing i get from hobby lobby. The foam i used for the main structure was floatation styrofoami got for free from a local lake dock that gave it away.but you can find pretty much the same thing that people throw away at like dollar stores, etc. I use alot of styrene sheets that you can get small squares at hobby lobby.but i had some large sheets i had ordered. The number one most versitile thing i build with is expanded pvc sheeting. It is awesome! I have a local rubber and plastic company i get it thru but its super affordabke and easy to find.i prefer the 3/16. Its rigid,yet you can cut it super easy. It is easy to endent to make panel lines. Ive made star destroyers,at- ats, emperial shuttles.etc with it. ( im going to show them in a video soon). Alot of what i use is just common stuff around the hose. Like the foam when i cut the rough shape, i mix just regular elmers glue, paint and use toilet paper to cover the surface. It is very time consumeing for sure but when it drys its like a shell..very tough and durable. I also use insulation foam from home depot/ lowes. Comes in differant thickness and is super dense but easy to sculpt. I also used about 10 lbs of scullting air dry clay to refine the rock shapes before covering with the paper shell.I didnt quite keep track of cost because i allready had mostly everthing i needed but if i had to ball park it,id say maybe 50 to 60 dollars total.... if you factored in the time it took me ....sheeew 5000 lol. I dont know if i could ever sell it ..... i spend so much time and effort on the building and research( watching the movie 200 times in slow mo)i kinda get attached to it.

No man,i welcome critques. I love hearing feedback. You are 100% correct....I actually took that into account when building it. But found that if i did narrow the front more the window glass would contort to much.it left a wierd crease in it so i added mor bondo and widened a smidge. Keep in mind if i had a 3D printer it woulsmd have been super easy to make all one piece and windows wouldnt have been a problem. I done it all by hand with around the house materials which limited me a bit. Thank you for watching.

Yes ,you are factually correct....but there was no logical way to narrow the mcfarlane batmobile any further. I basically used the center section and it would have been near impossible to cut it in half down the center. I had to give and take where i could to find a middle ground.

@@charlesalexanderjr2247 I didn't mean narrow the Batmobile. Just the canopy. When the sides blew off the body of the car stayed the same, but the top center of the canopy popped off and narrowed. But I get what you're saying. You can only polish a turd so much, but at the end of the day it's still a turd.

@@NightwingReturns the whole center strip of the batmobile ejected, including the canopy. It makes no logical sense at all...but i loved it lol.

@@charlesalexanderjr2247 I'm gonna have to correct you on that one. The center of the body never changed. The first thing to pop was the top of the canopy, then the sides. The center body didn't narrow.

@@charlesalexanderjr2247 And, after close inspection, I'll correct myself, too. The canopy narrowed, but DIDN'T lose the window divide. It's still there 😂

Its sounds wierd, but i used bondo. You can also use milliput but i find bondo has the right" stretch" when your making hair.i mix it with a tad less hardener so i have more work time.

What you think about filling in the wrinkles. You think that would make his appearance younger? I just ordered the head

@@Jakob-zs1qu ,i thought about useing super fine sandpaper and carefully sanding wrinkles but decided against it .

Thank you! I used rustoleum ultra matte black. I opted not to use a clear coat. I find the ultra matte has just enough luster ,but not so much that its shiny. On the batmissle i made i tried a flat black but found it just is to bland looking. Check out my other videos to see it. I use a mcfarlane as a base for it.
