@jamesgunnels7113 could always go back to the oem headunit and get the bluetooth module that replaces the CD function To be honest i dont even remember what that head unit was, sold the car over a month ago

@banjoboards861 you definitely helped push me to actually get this uploaded LOL 😆 Ohh man that sucks! But the a2 is a neat swap. I imagine it feels a bit more free in the upper rpm without the balance shafts Remember to keep the oil level a little higher with that pump, and maybe consider a baffle/pickup adapter if you like to hit the twisty roads hard

@@robracesandrebuilds6499 all of those things you said i definitely already considered and intend to address, i put 6qts in it and keep the oil a little over the 2nd dot and i also will be ordering a baffle kit soon. The A2 feels much more spirited in the high rpm but it also feels just as strong as the Z3

@@robracesandrebuilds6499 a couple of other awesome things about the new engine it is was rebuilt at 60k miles, i have service records from the DC5 it was in and it definitely was worth the money. Mods are ; Ported Type S pump, DC billet lower guide, Q300, PLM Header, KN Typhoon till i get Flashpro. pretty awesome car man

@rrod555 the 11th gen is definitely a good looking car, I like them more than the 10th gen from a visual standpoint. I autocrossed a 10th gen in GS for a season, if the 11th gen is similar.. they are a wicked autocross car and get great mileage, but they really lack the soul and fun feeling of the 8th and 9th gen civics

@jamesgunnels7113 i think i definitely take it for granted! There is always lots for sale here in BC, priced anywhere as cheap as 3500 for a clapped coupe, and up to about 15,000 for a nice sedan. So theres options which is nice

Ive low key been looking to buy a hail damaged Si for years, haha Theres some science shit thats beyond my understanding, but the dimples on a golf ball actually make it fly faster. So ive always wanted to run a dimpled out Si in autocross stock class to see if someone would protest it lmao

Congrats on the new car, seems like it’ll be a good one. Pretty amazing that it came with the hfp kit. I finally ended up picking up a CSX and it’s only got 150k if you can believe it. Nice to be an 8th gen boy again

@@robracesandrebuilds6499 it’s Royal Blue Pearl, same as the 2006 I had ages ago. The nostalgia got me. The paint is absolutely wrecked though (even beyond the typical clear coat issues), so that’s first on the list

@Jaydendierksss think of the autocross as practice, nobody shows up and wins on their first event, it will take a few to get the hang of it. Try and glean whatever you can from faster drivers with a similar car, whether that be asking them questions or watching how they do things As far as the car, just make sure your brakes n tires are good, battery is strapped down and take out loose/excess items. Good luck! Im sure you will enjoy it

@jonmcclane7433 no worries! Its an invidia q300 catback and skunk2 header combo, probably the most mild noise wise for a catless setup With the yonaka, you would probably wanna add a highflow cat or maybe a resonator just to quiet it down with a header

@@gizmosfere good to know that they are both headaches to install, where does the coolant overflow go with the hybrid?

The hybrid has a battery relocate bracket that puts it below the intake. The coolant overflow clips into the battery relocate tray. That part is easy just have to trim the oem hose a little.

@gizmosfere ahh ok, that's not as bad. On the skunk2, the bottle is buried beneath the battery and bracket

@banjoboards861 thanks! Did you pick up TL-S brembos? Make sure you get real tires, no sense in having brembos if you can't put the friction to the road

if youre on a basemap get a real tune which will def help

@@banjoboards861 on a real tune! Engine is healthy and has refreshed everything. Which is why its so strange and i cant fix it

@@repingers9777 i would consult your tuner (or get a new one) I had my fg2 tuned on 91 and no knocks are present

@@robracesandrebuilds6499 was yoshtuned and we tried to fix it but only got worse and its a pretty conservative tune too.

@repingers9777 probably need to take more timing out, or try and source better fuel

Kevin, at evolution auto out of Vancouver is tuning it for me. He comes very highly recommended here locally. I drove my buddies white FA5 that was tuned by him and it felt great (the one from the junkyard and touge video)

Hondata base tunes are just that, base. Not meant to to used for any amount of time. You'll run lean which enables knock. Not ideal..

@yukonstriker1703 car is in the process of an etune as we speak, the basemap certainly had some detonation

@Shaqtis we dont have to do safety's in BC Just need inspections when buying an out of province vehicle, or when going from salvage title to rebuild, like in my case

@@yukonstriker1703 I'm just saying what the mechanic at the shop beside my house told me. Makes sense to me they'd introduce yearly safeties after getting rid of the revenue of the stickers yearly.. I hope they don't, but it's what I heard is coming.

@@yukonstriker1703 yeah once the safety is written you have 30 days to bring it to the mto or it expires… the safety is good until the car changes hands and the new owner needs to safety it again.. we know this.. what I’m saying is soon the rumour is they might make yearly safeties on your vehicle mandatory.. understand? Reading is hard I get it.
