    Congratulations on the new daily. Great deal for what you got with it. That would pull 10000 to 12000 in my area. That's if you could find one. Im looking myself. Would like to find a clean one to transfer all my parts and drivetrain into. I just bought my total loss 2010 FA5 back from the insurance after a hail damage claim. Repair estimate was 10700. Insurance gave me 11500 for it. Only a few clicks over 100,000 miles on it. All the damage is cosmetic but it looks like a black golf ball now. They charged me 2900 to buy it back. I got lucky on the title issue. The state of Texas doesn't require a salvage title for cosmetic damage on a total loss vehicle if the windshield was not broken. Going to be teaching myself PDR once the temps in my area get out of the 100s. the south east Texas gulf coast is brutal in the summer way too hot to work in the garage when you work outside for your day job. Exited to see the build come together.

Yeah, the internet mostly favors 8th gens, but honestly, for no real reason other than it revs higher lol From a stictly autocross standpoint though, (stock class) i do prefer an 8th gen. The 9th gens are sprung a bit softer and have a bit softer sway bar's, which in turn makes the 8th gen feel a bit sharper. The other thing that hurts the 9th gen a bit for autocross is their 2nd gear top speed, its down 4mph or so from the 8th, which can hurt on larger courses I enjoy autocrossing both my 8th and 9th, but at the end of the day i pick 8th for autocross and 9th for daily driving

    Good to see you again. It’s funny, on the weekend I thought “I wonder what Rob is up to” and watched an old Shingo video. Lo and behold here you were the next day. I’m buying a CSX so I’m going to be scouring your channel for help now haha. Sorry to hear about Jackie

    I can't wait to see how this turns out. I have also been eyeballing the 24mm bar for some more rotation in dry conditions. The whole rip the rear of your car apart thing worries me though. As for the front I like the idea, but that seems like a lot of packer to me. I guess we will find out. Did you notice any difference after adding the rear packer last year?

    • @robracesandrebuilds6499
      @robracesandrebuilds6499 3 месяца назад

      I've run 2 small lot events on the car with the new setup ( a little behind on editing, lol) The car feels great, better than last year for sure. The front just feels more willing to turn with the added spring rate of the packer. Of course, part of that could be the added rear rate of the new bar, too. I had a fellow FA5 HS competitor co-drive it last night, and he said it feels much much better than his car. He's also on the 24mm bar, but 225s squared As far as the rear packer, i dont think it did much, i went pretty mild. I think after your suggestion of adding more rear toe, the car got better Ripping the rear of the car is scary, but it seems pretty few and far between. The rear packer would probably help that a bit too honestly, if its reducing up travel, the car shouldn't be on the bar quite as hard

      @robracesandrebuilds6499 Good to hear. I might try to change the rear bar before Bristol tour. I also plan to set a few different toe settings by marking the adjuster with a paint marker so I can change it on the fly at events. I am curious if you have done anymore tire pressure tuning. I'm running konis all around and square 225 stones this year. I feel like I have had less luck trying to find a rear pressure that works for me. We don't get a lot of runs here to test things unfortunately 😕

      @robracesandrebuilds6499 3 месяца назад

      @jamesgunnels7113 i should test the bars back to back, the price of the 24mm is a bit hard to justify. But i went and changed too many things at once like usual 😂 Yeah, thats a great idea for the rear toe. Ive considered doing that too, but ultimately.. im too lazy to change it at events, haha I have stuck to my tried and true, 37F 45R psi I think with the carcass of the stone and the fact that you're more square on the rim, you could likely run a bit lower I've been pressured at the last couple of events by a 2013 GTI, new to HS last year i believe. With 7.5" wheels, DSG, and all the torque he's been a stuggle to beat. Which has in turn, made me less willing to make weird changes for testing purposes, haha

    Hey really enjoy your videos, lots of good nuggets of information unlike a lot of the silly 500hp turbo builds. I run a magnaflow too because I found it for $100 used. Mine does not have the huge tip and it’s the quietest aftermarket I’ve ever heard. Curious where you order parts from as I’m in Alberta and shipping costs are quite high.

      I'm glad you enjoy the content For aftermarket parts, i usually order from tdotperformance or teknotik in Ontario. Tdot is usually free shipping, and if your order on a long weekend its generally 10% off For stock type replacement stuff i order from lordco or Rockauto
