Congrats on the new car, seems like it’ll be a good one. Pretty amazing that it came with the hfp kit. I finally ended up picking up a CSX and it’s only got 150k if you can believe it. Nice to be an 8th gen boy again
@@robracesandrebuilds6499 it’s Royal Blue Pearl, same as the 2006 I had ages ago. The nostalgia got me. The paint is absolutely wrecked though (even beyond the typical clear coat issues), so that’s first on the list
peak rob video, new fg2 is sick, def beautiful paint other than a little clear coat issue. RIp the FB6 and hopefully this build goes just as hard as the last one did:)
Im still loving the videos rob! That is a great deal you got on this one. You cant find a car that clean here, and if you did it would solidly be in the 10k range. Anything below 8k is a true disaster car. Ive been low key keeping my eyes out for another si. Its slim pickings here...
@jamesgunnels7113 i think i definitely take it for granted! There is always lots for sale here in BC, priced anywhere as cheap as 3500 for a clapped coupe, and up to about 15,000 for a nice sedan. So theres options which is nice
Congratulations on the new daily. Great deal for what you got with it. That would pull 10000 to 12000 in my area. That's if you could find one. Im looking myself. Would like to find a clean one to transfer all my parts and drivetrain into. I just bought my total loss 2010 FA5 back from the insurance after a hail damage claim. Repair estimate was 10700. Insurance gave me 11500 for it. Only a few clicks over 100,000 miles on it. All the damage is cosmetic but it looks like a black golf ball now. They charged me 2900 to buy it back. I got lucky on the title issue. The state of Texas doesn't require a salvage title for cosmetic damage on a total loss vehicle if the windshield was not broken. Going to be teaching myself PDR once the temps in my area get out of the 100s. the south east Texas gulf coast is brutal in the summer way too hot to work in the garage when you work outside for your day job. Exited to see the build come together.
@gizmosfere thanks man! Thats wild pricing there. Ive low key been looking to buy a hail damaged Si for years, haha Theres some science shit thats beyond my understanding, but the dimples on a golf ball actually make it fly faster. So ive always wanted to run a dimpled out Si in autocross stock class to see if someone would protest it lmao
yo Rob! I have a fg2 thats actually in relatively nice condition minus the paint which I know you know. keep it stock.. sometimes I wish I had a newer car tho like the 11th gen si. I would never sell the 11th gen but if i did they have incredible resale value. i feel like you wouldnt really lose any money. live in Florida so I don't have to worry abouit rust do you have any opinions?

@rrod555 the 11th gen is definitely a good looking car, I like them more than the 10th gen from a visual standpoint. I autocrossed a 10th gen in GS for a season, if the 11th gen is similar.. they are a wicked autocross car and get great mileage, but they really lack the soul and fun feeling of the 8th and 9th gen civics
Great find.
All the extras are an added bonus.
She’s a beaut, Rob. Congrats on your purchase. FG2 owner here, and I like those Wheels on it.
6:44 well HAPPY BIRTHDAY then!
