People think Spectralert Advances are the Loudest Fire Alarm Ever. But i Think these AC horns Are Way louder Than Spectralert Advance.

I would have thought this really cool old simplex system would have been replaced long after Joel speck filmed it many years ago in 2012. It’s awesome to see that it’s still here and still operational.

From a distance, the wall-mount L-series horn/strobes look pretty similar to SpectrAlert Classics. Until they go off and sound like a slightly less-harsh version of the SpectrAlert Advance.

If you ask me, I prefer the newest Siemens pull station that uses a key instead of the old style with a hex wrench.

Very cool system with a few different ages of simplex equipment. Glad they stuck with simplex for so long. The local schools near me are phasing out their simplex equipment in favor for EST Edwards (probably because it’s cheaper and they like the specific dealer). I managed to get an old 4100U plus some parts from a semi-local high school that went under an expansion and has put in a “new” EST3.
