STOP Standing so Close as the Front Court Player
Просмотров 3 тыс.11 месяцев назад
As the front court player in Badminton, where you are positioned is so important. Many players will stand right on the service line and if any shot is not played to the net, they leave for their partner. However the professionals will stand much further back ready for the interception or rotation. Source: BWF
KANG Min Hyuk Crouch Defence to Net Kill Winner

The crouch defence in Badminton can be so effective if used at the right time. In this analysis, Kang Min Hyuk does this perfectly vs Liang Wei Keng on his forehand side after playing a China jump. He is then able to run in to the net and kill the next shot to win the rally. Source: BWF
You NEED to do this after you Serve in Doubles
Просмотров 13 тыс.11 месяцев назад
The wide split step is so important in doubles right after you serve for many reasons. The Koreans do this so well and you can learn a lot from watching them play. They are so hard to return serve to and a lot of this comes down to what the server does once playing the serve.

    This is worse than delaying. When you drinking water or walking around, the opponent at least know they do not need to stay ready. What he is doing is increasing the amount of time for a serve to be done, which take advantages of the opponent's concentration span. Since once you are in the ready position, the players expect a server in the next few seconds.

    • @neygart1929
      @neygart1929 Месяц назад

      "the next few seconds", well that's what happens here in my humble opinion. Less than 4 seconds is "a few" for me.

    "His serve is within the rules" ; In the rule, when both players are ready, no delay is allowed ; without any nore specifications of some sort being mentionned (time, allowed moves, etc.) So basically, radar can be called fault any time. Fact it's over used, is not an argument of it being in the rule. (see what's going on in other sports, like table tennis where 90% of serves are not legal according to the rules) Also Viktor clearly changes to more than 2 "back and forth" moves some times, wich also could called a delay.

  • @ongkimchoon7383
    @ongkimchoon7383 Месяц назад

    Hahaha...Victor does at times move side/side more than twice and gets away with it. Unfortunately, this time he was stop. I did a vertical circle with one side movement before serve and the Umpire call a fault. Reason been he never seen such a serve and deem it as a distraction. After that, I squat, and flick serve, and he gave a warning, or he will use the yellow card for disorderly conduct. The two serves were legal but in the Umpire rule book he regarded it as unfair advantage to me as not everyone is doing it and creating more distraction. I do have many more "distracting" serves than this two.

Creating same kind of noisy environment as it is in teamsports just keep most of people away from such a disturbing things. Most of players I've talked about this with are oppose of to noises. They don't give a fuck if audience are supporting or not, but just play badminton.
