For non-beginner players, is it a higher chance to be hit in the back of the head if you, as the front court player, stand where you are supposed to? That's always been a mild paranoia of mine that prevents me from standing further back, at the front.
You have to watch and sense how far the shuttle is behind you. If the lift is deep, you can stand in the center of the court (sometimes even deeper, eg., Korean style). If the lift is short, you would move away from your backcourt partner to avoid being hit.
