2002 Mustang GT BONE stock besides a CAI and exhaust The car has Comp Cams Stage 3 XE270AH's in it along with Comp Cam Beehive springs and steel retainers I did not degree the cams, I used factory timing marks on the cams/chains and I also did not have any PTV issues whatsoever. My neighbor on his bike, the 1986 Yamaha Radian YX600 with straight pipe. Like, comment and if you have any questions about the bike just ask!
Stock ?
It was 🤣
and what exhaust setup you got goin on?
This was just stock exhaust straight piped. But I would NOT recommend straight piping it, besides full throttle or at idle it sounds like shit. I'd recommend doing an SLP Loudmouth 2 setup.
what intake manifold do you have? read online you needed a new intake just not sure what to go with, im new to ford motors
If you're going to keep it N/A, best thing is to just stay with the stock manifold and get some good N/A cams from Todd Warren
With the higher rpm range how is driving around the city ??
Honestly the same it felt like. I never got it tuned for it so I was't getting the absolute MAX out of them so 🤷🏼♂️
@@LegalLowGround yeah that’s just it i get it pushes the curve higher and yes a tune helps but I’m just worried it’ll feel like a dog from 1200-1500 rpm’s or even a little higher Part of me wants to do this but then I’m like I should prolly put better heads in it to compliment it but then after heads and cams I could just low Boost Eaton m112 it I’m torn
@@user-rr4hr7bz7n Honestly no, I didn't notice a whole lot of change. But that's just me experience lol
I can loop that exhaust note for hours never gets old !!!
Is that tuned??
Nope! 🤣 probably should've though 😆
@@LegalLowGround sounds good .. 👌
Did you have to get a tune?
Can I just throw on a turbo with no upgrade rotating assembly just stage 3 cams with apr head studs and longtubes
Technically yes, but you're gambling the bottom end like I did. They say 450whp is the max you go with a STOCK sealed 4.6 but mine blew at 354whp on 7lb's of boost. But I think I had another issue that not alot of people have
Chased my buddy on his CBR 1000 up hwy 1 the other day. Throttle to the stop in 6th and I was doing over 160 for several miles. Cheers!)
What hiccups did you have installing this kit? I'm building a teksid 2v & gonna throw a on3 turbo on it for sure! Cheapest way to hit 600rwhp haha 😂💯
Nice bro congrats! It's gonna be badass that's forsure! And the hiccups I had were installing the tubular k-member because I had to do it by myself. But if you have help with that, the kit is super easy to install. Just follow the instructions and you'll be perfect 👌🏼
@@LegalLowGround Yessir having the motor out of the car helped me alot with the install. Way more room with that upr k member! But yeah shes super clean & sounds good! Are you doing bumper exit? I wanna run the y pipe to the back to look & sound as factory as possible. At least try not to give away what I got under the hood 🤣😂
@@teelazysocold412Sorry man, YT is real shit at notifying me when people comment or reply 🤦🤣. And yes I am doing a bumper exit, I JUST ordered it as a matter of fact, going to have my buddy weld it up for me. And yeah I wanted to run it out the back too, but the shitty part is, if you have your diff braced whether it's welded or bolt on, you won't have any room for the exhaust to go up and over the diff, it'll hit the bracing. So just a heads up!
Way cool... I really wanted one of these back in 1987. Triumph Tiger 900 and BMW R1150RS.. in the garage
Sounds amazing. Love seeing these 2 Valve builds.👌
Thanks man, I appreciate it. Definitelt alot of money into it!
@@LegalLowGround 😂…They can be for sure….I just built and boosted mine on a budget and it wasnt too bad, depending on the route you decide.
@@badazz99 Yeah I overbuilt everything so I know it'll handle anything I throw at it. Seeing it blow up on the dyno really put things into perspective for me. Sure you can do a "budget" build, but when you want to push it more etc you can't because of other limiting parts being the trans, driveshaft, diff, axles etc. And I didn't want to have to worry about ANYTHING so I currently have about 32K invested (not including buying the car) and about another 9K to go before it's done lol
👍🏽Aw That Boosted 2v life welcome to the party…. Fina hurt a lot of feelings 😂…nice build
Hell yeah dude that's the plan! Gonna show these Hellcat dbags who's the real boss...built always wins vs bought! 🤣🤘🏻
For real I boosted my 2v this past spring with a 2.1 Kenne Bell twin screw 5 speed car with 4.10 and the look on some of the people face is hilarious “that ain’t a regular 2v” I can’t wait to build my motor and throw on some TFS head on
@@TurelBey Fuck yeah dude that's why I got this license plate because I had plans for the car and for a bit it was just CAI, Exhaust and tune and it WAS slow so the plate fit the description....NOW it's gonna be ironic 🤣🤣🤣
Is there anything modified to the transmission? I heard the 5 speed Trimec's have a max torque rating at 360 lb ft
I'm T56 Magnum swapping it. the TR3650's suck for anything other than stock use lol
People coyote swap these cars and still use the stock tr3650/t45 until they can swap it. I ran 400lb ft through my 03 for 3 years and didn’t have an issue.
@loganyoung8153 this! It isn't ideal for long term big power usage in stock form but they're not as made of glass as they're made out to be...you can get a Hanlon built 3650 for like 1000 bucks or something.
On3 single kit?
Yup!
@@LegalLowGrounddid one a few years ago with all the stock stuff that comes from on3. Made 360/400 on 6.5lbs lol
@@loganyoung8153Honestly bro that was my only goal too, just to pep it up a bit until I had a built engine to go into it that I'd build on the side. But it blew up on the dyno last year and only made 354whp and 417tq. Guessing there was something unhappy in the bottom end or something. And since it blew up I'm like....welp, might as well just build this shit now 😂 🤷🏼♂️
Mine blew as well but 60k miles later. She had 140 when I boosted it and about 200k when it popped.
Idle sounds great! What cam are you running?
Todd Warren custom cams. He doesn't usually like his customers to give out specs. But they're pretty beefy 👌🏼
sexy
I bet that thing sounds sweet man
Thanks man...I have yet to hear it, just need to get a few more things in order before the first start 🤘🏻
@@LegalLowGround I can't wait to hear it 👍
What rims are those, Link????
They're Aodhan DS06's. I love them! They're fairly super cheap and they look good!
Looks fast as hell!
We'll see man lol gotta get a few more things together!
What are you whipping?
What do you mean 🤔
@@LegalLowGround what vehicle is this not a serious car guy but looks very organized and clean man. Lots of sweat blood and tears I assume have gone into this build. I’m a sailor I build sailboats and I’m currently building one to sail around the world with my dog and fiancé while filming it for RUclips. I’m 23 and I have a lot to learn. Looks good tho boss.
@@SYHOZHO Thanks man, definitely alot of blood sweat and tears so far lol it'll be worth it in the end though! And also it's a 2002 Mustang GT
It’s a 2v 🤷🏼♂️
I can tell you don't know shit about 2v's 🤣 lookup Andrew Lavender lmao
How can i get my 1998 mustang GT to sound like this
The 98 GT's have non PI heads, so you'll have to either notch the pistons or get a smaller cam.
Sounds amazing man!👌🏻
What's your exhaust setup? I believe it's an H pipe, but why not so choppy?
Exhaust is a catless H pipe with muffler delete's...and it does chop, just not as much as like corvettes you'd normally hear because they have a higher lift cam. You can only do such a big cam before you start having PTV issues. But the car is turbocharged now and is being built so it'll just be a 3inch downpipe to a Y split and then just to the SLP's. Getting rid of the resonators and running it straight.
Awesome I'm in the valley too, car sound sick!
Thanks bro, I appreciate it! It currently doesn't sound like anything lol it's currently getting a forged bottom end so I can push some boost through this thing. Hopefully it'll be about 8/900whp once it's done
Ocupo que me ayudes a instalarlo , me podrás mandar fotos ??
I don't speak spanish man, sorry
@@LegalLowGround I bought a wot box, but I haven't been able to connect it, can you help me? How can I contact you ?
What fuel pump setup you have for stage 3 cams?
Stock fuel pump my dude. You don't need anything crazy for fuel just for cams unless you plan to push over like 350+ which just cams will maybe get you 300whp IF that
🔥 bruh! Are the cams annoying to drive normally? Do you have to give it some than usual gas when leaving 1st?
Nah, not at all!
So you put these cams in without notched pistons like comp says should be done? I have aguy that has a set he wants 250 for to just get rid of but I don't wanna build my f150 and change pistons
Correct. I didn't notch the pistons. But there is 4 manufacturer's that made pistons for the 2v and one of them was slightly different than the rest, so that might result in ptv issues. But as you can see here I didn't lol. But I'm building an engine for it now because I boosted it and it blew up on the dyno 🤣
How wide are your tires on the rear?
Rears are 295/45-18
Sounds terrible.
Grasshopper enjoying the sound too 😂
Fuq yah he is! He loves 2v's! 😂😂😂
What do you know about mustangs, you litteraly drive a shit box with cams
Didn’t scare the grasshopper 😂car sounds bad ass 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hey man I tried lmao. Thanks bro! 🤘🏻
🐊
My Buddy bought one, it would keep up to my Nighthawk S.........crazy machine
What RPM is that?
I have it set to 920ish. I like the faster lope rather than the slow
@@LegalLowGround sorry meant for the wot box
@@onesickfox_4398 Oh, my bad dude. I have it set to 4,500rpm
@@LegalLowGround haha no worries! Sounds bad ass
If I want stage 3 do I need more stuff?
Yeah. Stage 3s are heavier mods that require sub mods to run smoothly. For these 4.6L V8s you NEED a torque converter and a tune like immediately after getting them installed. A cold air intake and an exhaust is a really good idea too. Valve spring retainers and springs are also recommended.
@@tr4111 Heads up, this is with no tune and it ran and drove fine. Obviously if you want to get the MAX out of the cams a tune is necessary. And you only need a torque converter if it's an auto.
I got stage 2 with springs and retainers
Hell yeah bud, nice!
When you put them in what else do you need for clearance?
You may have to degree them, but besides that I just did beehive springs and steel retainers
Godlike sound
Thanks bud 🤘🏻
What’s the exhausts on it
Straight pipe, stock headers, pacesetter catless H-pipe and that's it.
hi 🦗
Very nice, sounds good
Sounds so damn good
Thanks man!
@@LegalLowGround no problem. You Got a new sub. I Got a 06 Mustang Roush stage 1. Only upgrades is headers, performance exhaust and Cold air intake….still made 291rwhp. Maybe cam swap next year
@@DrangeDragRacingTeam1967 Nice man! Yeah I blew this one up about a month and a half ago. I have the on3 kit and stock bottom end was just tired and snapped 2 rods and it was a REAL good catastrophic failure....It was on 7lbs of boost, and it made 354whp @4,500rpm when it exploded. Check it out on my IG, same name as this channel name.
This sounds a bit mild for 270. I think to get it to really chop your going to have to lower ldle rpm. Yours sounds like its ldlling at 800 rpm or a little higher. If you can change it to 700 or I have mine set at 650 rpm. I have a custom set from the Modular Head Shop with less duration and since its a supercharger cam it closes the overlap so you get less of a chop, however it sounds very angry sitting at a stoplight.
Yeah I specifically set mine to about 900 RPM because it chops the hardest there I've noticed
Wheel and tire set up?
They're Aodhan DS06 with Mickey Thompson Street Comp's
I have a 2000 GT I've owned for literally 15 years now. Has a Windsor block versus a Romeo. I've been wanting to run 270s for YEARS but it has pressed-on cam gears, so I would need to go with adjustables. Motor has 160K on it now so I just don't know if it's worth the investment lol. I've wanted to cam the car so badly, gone back and forth on it so many times. Along with longtubes, X pipe, and my Magnapacks. Would sound so mean, maybe I should just say fuck it and do it.
Honestly yeah, I would do it. Just make sure you have PI heads and you'll need to get a cam degree kit as well to make sure they're timed perfectly. Other than that I'd say go for it!
@@LegalLowGround Yep, PI heads on there, I will pretty much just have to do the whole valvetrain lol. I anticipate a few $ grand? Not going crazy with Trick flow heads or anything, it's just my daily. Bottom end burns oil relatively faster than normal too lol, idk.
@@Calibur43 Go for it dude 😎, fuck it
How does the software work? Do you connect the box to the computer and select what you want it to do then hook it up to the car?
Honestly I'm not 100% sure because I had it hooked up to the car already when I programmed it. But I'm going to say yes you SHOULD be able to program it out of the car. But you need to test it once it's wired into the car anyhow.
@@LegalLowGround awesome thanks for the quick reply. I’m sure that’s how you do it program it first then install it lol. The car sounds amazing bro👊
@@LSX_Projects Thanks man, and yeah it DID sound good up until about 2 weeks ago 🤣
@@LegalLowGround ahh dang fun while it lasted tho💪
How much horsepower have you gain from all the mods
So I ended up boosting it but N/A it made 235whp with the cams. BUT that was just to get an N/A base tune on the car. He wasn't really trying to get as much as he could out of the car N/A wise.
@Sid The sloth yeah i am thinking the same thing I was expecting a stage 3 cam to give much more power than that cuz I wanna make my mustang faster but if these cams keep it at 230 then I may get a 5.0 pushrod engine
@Sid The sloth it’s a 270 cam which is confusing me even more
@Sid The sloth Yeha idk maybe he meant 335hp who knows
@Sid The sloth So just to fill you in on why it only made 235whp is because for one, I didn't degree the cams, but to get THE max performance out of them you have to degree them. And also, when I was getting it tuned the tuner was only getting a base tune/run in with the intercooler piping unhooked because I have the on3 kit on the car currently. So that being said, he wasn't trying to get the MAX amount of power out of the cams. Now that engine I had ended up blowing 4 holes in the block @354whp/417tq on 7lbs of boost because I just had a tired stock bottom end, which was fine because I expected that to happen at some point, just not on the dyno lmao. But I'm building a 1,200hp capable block for it now and plan on running it @700/800whp once it done to keep it mostly "reliable".
💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
