    • @FixandMaintain

      A torque wrench allows you to set the number of lbs to tighten fasteners. It’s not required, but helps to prevent under tightening (causing oil to leak) or over tightening (which can strip the threads on the drain hole).

      Mine is a 2013 as well. I don’t know if the 300L ones would work. Does it look like it’s been changed before and sealed up with RTV silicone? The rubber gasket typically doesn’t hold that strongly. If you have a pry tool, you could probably get it started and the rest of the pan will follow. Just be careful not to scratch up the bottom of the transmission housing or damage the pan.

      It doesn’t sound like you have an alternator problem either as a bad alternator will cause the electronics to drain your battery, then you wouldn’t be able to start it back after the bike dies. You should look up how to check ECM fault codes and go from there.

    • @FixandMaintain

      I’m sorry to hear they wouldn’t cut it for you. Did they have the same Hillman machine that was in my video? The associate that helped me was very skeptical that it would even work and warned me that it could ruin the key. After I assured him I was ok if it didn’t work, he had to “trick” the machine to cutting it by scanning the barcode on one of their #28 blanks and using the “B” slot on the machine (he did have to hold it in the whole time for the machine to cut it). So, their machine WILL cut it, it just may take the right associate and possibly a little coaching. An older, more basic key cutting machine will also work, but that would depend on if you have a local hardware store that has a machine like that.

    First off, thank you for this! This is the best install video available for this setup. Two questions: 1) Did you notice a significant reduction in volume? 2) Did you retain steering wheel controls? I installed one in my 2012 SX with factory amp and navigation. I've gotten everything to work except for the SWC, and the volume seems significantly lower for me. I'm thinking my amp retention module is passing sound through but not actually powering the amp. Not sure just yet.

    • @FixandMaintain
      @FixandMaintain Месяц назад

      You’re welcome! 1. No, I didn’t notice any reduction in volume. My model has the low-end audio package (doesn’t even have a sub), so like you said, you may have an additional amp that isn’t getting a signal to turn on? 2. Steering wheel controls work great on my setup. Did you get a CAN Bus module with your radio? If so, was it programmed to your model? Thankfully mine worked straight out of the box, but possibly there’s something wrong with the programming on yours?

    • @Bonswa01
      @Bonswa01 Месяц назад

      @@FixandMaintain Yes, I tried the CAN Bus, but I didn't even test the SWC because I had no audio with it. The out the box harness didn't support the amp. I'm sure it's all related. It would have been MUCH easier for me if I wasn't trying to retain the factory amp. Last ditch effort will be to go aftermarket with the amp, because I really do like the head unit.

      Getting a fob for you should be even easier than this. If you have a column shifter, this switchblade style of key probably won’t work, but you can get just a basic fob like this: amzn.to/3CZn7qN. Double check to make sure that specific fob is compatible with your truck. Then, I believe you should have a “Relearn Remote Key” option on the DIC by pressing the Vehicle Information button several times. Once you activate that mode, just press the lock & unlock buttons on the new remote to pair it!

    How many lbs did you torque the rear sprocket nuts to?

    • @FixandMaintain
      @FixandMaintain Месяц назад

      It should be 24ft/lbs. It has a self-locking nut, so torque isn’t going to make a huge difference as long as you get it close.

    buenas noches profesor espero me pueda contestar,¿para una venture 2000 seria el mismo procedimiento y tendria que agregar el lucas transmission fix?muchas gracias y saludos desde veracruz mexico.excelente video.

      I believe the Venture does have the 4T65E transmission as well, so it should be the same fluid change procedure. The Lucas Transmission Fix is optional, depending on if you are having the issues that it is designed to help with.

    Thanks so much for this! I ordered a new switch rather than cleaning the old one for my 2010 Armada. Took the old one apart, though, and it was very fouled. The new switch dropped in perfectly, and I've had no problems since. Great simple, easy-to-follow video. You saved me a ton of time and money. Much appreciated!

      You’re welcome! It was great that this issue has the low cost option of replacing the switch but also the little to no cost option of cleaning it out.

    Decent enough video but it shows the mode actuator. the blend door actuator is on passenger side at upper dash. Can be accessed with some effort through glove box.

      Yes, this is the blend door actuator for the mode door. Thankfully the temperature blend door hasn't gone out on my Titan. But if it does, I will definitely be making a video of replacing it.
