Defeating Burble Hekelot with a Single Shield Boomerang Throw
What happens when you try to beat one of MMZ2’s most luck-driven bosses in the most obtuse way possible? Well, you get this.
Joining the likes of Z1 Stagroff and Z2 Harpuia, a single Shield throw win against Burble is a silly idea indeed. Finding a path through Burble’s attack pattern while keeping the Shield in orbit requires an insane amount of trial and error, and unlike his contemporaries, Burble doesn’t offer the luxury of ending the battle quickly. His lack of an elemental weakness, small stature, and wildly variable attack selection all play crucial roles in making the experience of pursing this victory highly demanding.

Zero Comboing Fefnir with Style
Просмотров 248День назад
Here’s a collection of combo clips against Fefnir. Despite the simplicity of Fefnir’s pattern, getting stylish and pushing your attack sequences to the limit is rather challenging. Of the four Guardians, Fefnir is the least predictable. Harpuia and Leviathan are entirely manipulable, and Phantom can only behave randomly during his refight. As such, the combos shown here fall into two categories...
Stylish Psuedoroids - Buckfire & Queenbee vs. Thetis
Просмотров 22714 дней назад
Under most circumstances, the Pseudoroid forms in ZX Advent are regarded as ungainly and impractical. Here, however, I’ll be showcasing how Buckfire and Queenbee can flex their skills against Thetis, the wielder of Model L. Thetis can swim with blinding speed through his submerged arena; he’s easily the fastest of the Mega Men that you fight. He launches attacks unpredictably and with ferocity,...
Mega Man Zero 3 - Frontline Ice Base [Pacifist Run]
Просмотров 16521 день назад
The Frontline Ice Base, home of Blizzack Staggroff R, is quite the interesting candidate for a pacifist run. On the surface, its lack of a miniboss makes it ideal, with the only combat required being against Staggroff himself, but the enemy selection and placement calls for smart maneuvering and exact manipulation of enemy behavior. Additionally, depending on the exact ruleset that one chooses ...
Defeating Maha Ganeshariff with a Single Shield Boomerang Throw
Просмотров 166Месяц назад
It’s a battle of boomerangs: Maha’s Tusk Boomerang versus Zero’s Shield Boomerang. Only one can prevail. Here’s how Zero can win with a single throw of his Shield Boomerang. An obvious thing to note is that there’s no way to fight Maha with the Shield Boomerang during his own stage. It can only be done during the refights in Neo Arcadia Core since defeating Maha is a prerequisite to getting the...
Clearing Buckfire's Stage with Model a
Просмотров 302Месяц назад
Time to take the fight to Buckfire like it’s 1987. Using “Model a” outside of its dedicated minigame is interesting. The homage to classic Mega Man meshes oddly with ZXA’s mechanics, creating a form that’s ill-suited to fighting bosses but oddly competent at stage traversal. Furthermore, considering that completing ZX’s postgame grants you the venerated Model OX, it’s certainly a tad strange fo...
Mega Man Zero 2 - Forest of Notus [100 Point Item Collection Run]
Просмотров 226Месяц назад
The concept for this fully-comprehensive item collection run of the Forest of Notus was inspired by @cheesyweezy866, who suggested that I look into finding a cool way to collect the infamous, nefariously placed Cyber-Elf that resides in the skies. I decided to take this idea and expand upon it, intrepidly exploring the whole level and having Zero grab every bit of treasure possible. It goes wit...
Fun Fights with Powmettaur
Просмотров 295Месяц назад
This collection of fights against Powmettaur was inspired by a video from @lightningedge which you can find here: ruclips.net/video/gr3HXddeCS4/видео.html Powmettaur is one of the funniest enemies in the Mega Man franchise; its blank expression combined with its attacks consisting of summoning mini Mets and other enemies via balloons never fails to crack me up. Since Powmettaur is a miniboss, i...

Destroying Childre Inarabitta with Every Biometal in Mega Man ZX
Просмотров 3312 месяца назад
If you thought Childre Inarabitta was a punching bag in MMZ3, you haven’t seen anything yet. Inarabitta makes an appearance in ZX as a bonus boss that can be fought in Area N. Unfortunately for the poor rabbit, I’ll be demonstrating how to dismantle him with every single Biometal in the game, with tactics ranging from pragmatic to downright comedic. Here are my notes on each fight. Model X: Giv...
Defeating Flammole with Two Model PX Shurikens
Просмотров 2462 месяца назад
With the Shield Boomerang’s absence in ZX, it’s time for Model PX to step into the spotlight and perform the duty of wielding a magnetic frisbee. For those unaware, the Shurikens that PX fires possess physics that are almost identical to the Shield Boomerang. The initial throw is slightly different, but beyond that, you can manipulate the position of a Shuriken with specific movement, just like...
Defeating Copy X by Pogoing off a Nova Strike
Просмотров 3712 месяца назад
Too weak. Was the original X this weak? Here’s an odd little combo clip against Copy X; it incorporates one of my favorite attacks, the Triple Rod pogo. I’ll be leveraging the mechanics of the Copy X fight to beat him in a fast and fancy manner. Here are the details. The premise is to use the usual tactic of juggling Copy X against a wall, then counter his attempted Nova Strike escape with a Tr...
Mega Man Zero 2 - Neo Arcadia Train [Pacifist Run]
Просмотров 2372 месяца назад
In this pacifist run of the Neo Arcadia Train, Panter Flauclaws’ stage, Zero will deftly zip past all the enemies and hazards without laying waste to a single foe. In honor of his best friend’s more timid demeanor, I’ll be using the X Form throughout the stage. It’s thematically appropriate, and it serves a practical purpose during the boss fight as well. The Neo Arcadia Train makes for an exce...
Defeating Harpuia with a Single Shield Boomerang Throw
Просмотров 3093 месяца назад
As if there weren’t enough methods of dismantling Harpuia, today I’ll be subjecting him to the nightmare that is a Shield Boomerang-obsessed Zero. I’ll be tacking both his Z1 and Z2 incarnations under the single-throw stipulation. The battles play out quite differently, despite featuring the same boss. Here are the details. It should come as no surprise that the Z1 battle is significantly more ...
Mega Man Zero 4 - Pegasolta Eclair Combo Showcase
Просмотров 3233 месяца назад
In this combo showcase for Pegasolta Eclair, I’ll be demonstrating how you can effectively fight the haughty flying horse using only Z-Saber combos. Up until this point, I had only ever fought Pegasolta by peppering him with charged attacks. Here, my goal was to properly learn his attack pattern and see what counters I could devise. I’ll discuss a few general points, then I’ll detail his attack...

Mega Man Zero 2 - Temple of Ice [Buster Only 100 Point S Rank]
Now I am inspired to attempt single throw + charged rod combo. Great showcase as always!
Thanks! I'm always happy to help provide some inspiration. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Elpizo being the weakest make sense, since he's basically a power hunger soyboy bureaucrat
Also known as a Democrat 😂
friendly reminder that this stupid frog allowed elpizo to reach the baby elves, thus starting the domino effect that casued X's body to be destroyed and the mother elf to come back, allowing weil to take over neo arcadia and nullify all of ciel's research over the new energy source if there's anyone to hate in this sub series, it's this stupid frog, and as a matter of fact i'd welcome more and more frog abuse
Burble being at least partially responsible for the chain of events that culminates in the Legends series is actually quite fitting when considering that the forest he inhabits has the whole Reaverbot aesthetic. I've already featured Burble in four videos now, so I wouldn't be surprised if I come up with more ways to tackle him or his stage. I just keep coming back for more.
hey broooo How the disrespeeeeeeect jajajajajajaja sooo cool bro jajajajaja
You really like using that ‘Single Shield Boomerang Throw’ strategy, don’t you? Mr DZ3. 😏
Yup. I've been having a lot of fun trying it out on many different bosses, and there are still many more I can do.
@@DZ-Three I see.
pain
also green, makes me want to replay the game but i match my attire with the color of the boss, should be fun
@@fakhrulrazi225 That's a neat idea. My immediate thought is how to handle the Beetle Bros in that scenario. Maybe switching between Normal and X Form depending on which is in the background could work. Power Form could be justified too since red and blue make purple.
Have you ever thought of speed running this game? You'll definitely crush it
I've given it some consideration. Full-game speedruns are very different from the stage or boss-specific challenges I do, so it'd certainly take a lot of adjustment. I'm glad that you think I've got the potential for it, though.
hedgeshock: flashback to Sonic the hedgehog bifrost: the crocodile that destroyed captain hook vulturon: metalhead chronoforce: za warudo queen bee: not the bees! not the bees! (flashback to The Wicker Man) buckfire: bambi but a pseudoroid argoyle & urgoyle: the duo rospark: another clone of spike rosered
Rospark also resembles Tornado Tonion while in his bulb from as well. In that way, he's sort of a fusion of two X series Mavericks.
Mega Man Pseudoroid worst to best (my opinion) 8. Rospark (Dead Red) 7. Argoyle & Ugoyle 6. Buckfire 5. Queen Bee 4. Chronoforce 3. Vulturon (3rd) 2. Hedgeshock (2nd) 1. Bifrost (Bold Gold)
Great job at the double rolling slashes. I'm surprised you didn't pin him at the edge of the arena.
Thanks! The double rolling slashes are pretty interesting. Watching Fefnir get hit by it at full speed looks somewhat messy. However, if you parse by frame, you can see that the initial part of the slash that would inflict long i-frames for the second hit just barely missies him due to the short duration i-frames from the first hit lasting just long enough. It's neat how the timing just happens to work out perfectly.
Holy cr*p the precision
Thank you! The margin of error is quite slim on these combos indeed. It took quite a bit of practice.
@@DZ-Three I don't doubt it. There are multiple instances where Zero and Fefnir are literally touching, yet there's no contact damage. At one point you managed to find the pixel-perfect point where you could stand perfectly still and Fefnir would jump right over you. I don't know how you did that without ever touching his hitbox.
@@ToniBingi All of that is made possible thanks to the fact that many hitboxes in Mega Man games are mismatched with character and attack sprites. Learning what you can get away with in terms of positioning and combo sequences is a very time-intensive process, but it does produce some nice results.
Thumbnail was pretty hilarious how Zero just poke Fefnir to death with Triple Rod and has the 2 X crosses shaped on its eyes. I wonder how you did it... inspiration perhaps... 💭🤔
Thanks! Recently, I've been trying the method of taking the game backgrounds and placing the character sprites manually for the thumbnails. It's actually kind of fun to do, so I might keep going with it.
@@DZ-Three Alrighty then, do what you have to do my friend.
Interesting choice of thumbnail there. Also love that well-timed Meteor Kick with Buckfire. 👍
Those kicks are tough but satisfying to land. Certainly not practical, but lots of fun.
0:49 , 1:07 The only time you took damage in this game.
Yup, I had to let Zero finally feel a bit of pain for once. For this specific run, it was a preferable solution to using the Recoil Rod instead.
@@DZ-Three Ah okay.
Didn't know you were a Smash Ultimate Bayonetta player, DZ3. ._.
I do enjoy me some After Burner Kick, but only in Bayonetta's actual games. I haven't played Smash since Brawl, if you can believe that. It'd be nice if Buckfire could kick upward like Bayonetta; that'd be quite useful.
fire thumbnail ngl (pun intended), and gameplay too as always🔥🔥🔥
Thank you! I'm glad to hear that you liked the thumbnail. It's the most effort I've put into one so far.
Peak
I don’t understand why the VarSwrd at 2:55 killed MagnetMan? Even with Prism I don’t understand why the damage is so high
There's a glitch where the waves from VarSword (and AntiSword) strike the Prism multiple times instead of just once. That's why the damage output is so high.
トランスオン(Aトランス)でコピーしったボスのモデル使いこなすのは難しい
just amazing.. wait, there's a detailed explanation of the gameplay as well? 10/10
Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed the run and the description as well.
Some clean jumps between those "schools" of fish!
Thanks! It's definitely easier to jump over them when possible, but obviously I just had to go for the cool factor.
0:38 don’t think we didn’t hear that! Zero obviously snuck a shot in when no one was looking! This is awesome though. Props for going the underwater route, which I imagine is notably harder.
Thanks! The underwater route becomes pretty fun once you're able to consistently jump between the fish. In most scenarios, enemies automatically blowing up when passing through doors is beneficial, but it's a bit unfortunate that it's unavoidable here.
Soul Launcher is underrated; and by extension, the recoil rod. I wish it could gain more popularity despite being potentially hard to aim when the player isn’t familiar with it.
Soul Launcher being a late-game EX Skill doesn't help it either. To get the most out of it, you have to try incorporating it into your gameplay during new game plus.
Game has no easy mode So DZ3 made one
I’d say the elephant in the room is actually performing the upward jump throw. Nothing that a little practice and consistency couldn’t achieve.
It does take some getting used to since the inputs are opposite to what you'd expect, but after using it enough times during these challenges, it's pretty much second nature to me.
Great skills as always, my fine friend. 😊
Thank you very much!
Awesome! Your skill is on other level, you're like the representation of the real Zero haha, keep it going! I hope one day Capcom releases a new Zero game for you to explore new grounds :')
Thanks! I'll do my best to keep coming up with interesting challenges. I think the Zero series has a good, definitive ending, but I'd certainly like to see ZX3/ZXC at some point.
This strat works all the time? What happens if he decides to roll?
I am pretty sure he got lucky rng and he didn't do the roll attack.
In this case, the RNG is consistent and easily manipulated since Maha's door is so close to the start of the level. If you slice through the Pantheons with the Saber and enter the door and stand still, Maha should open with his roll first. From there, if you follow the exact movements shown in the video, he should never roll or swing.
@@DZ-Three Oh really? Okay then.
Nice!, i really like maha design, looks really funny
I think it's just how round Maha is that makes him look kind of funny. He reminds me of Phan Phan from Kirby.
@@DZ-Three Yeah me too
😮 you mean all this time..... this dude could have been this easy?!!?
Well, there's a good amount of luck involved if you want to avoid damage, but if you get the right pattern, it's fairly simple to avoid his attacks while looping the Shield.
Just wanna ask, do you feel tired, sleepy or losing patience and motivation in doing this type of tedious challenge for a boss fight like this? Example.
This specific fight using Model a against Buckfire wasn't all that difficult to learn, so there wasn't any issue with motivation for me here. I think that, after having fought Craft with the Water Gun only, other minimalist boss challenges feel comparatively simple.
@@DZ-Three Yeah I saw the first half of the fight, it was pretty simple like just get in close to him and will make his AI attacks like the Burning Arrow & Crash Bunt useless. Only threat I find is when he is low on health, he changes pattern and does the Double Tomahawk more or when he backs away and use Burning Arrow to throw off your position. Reminds me of MegaMan 9 Magma Man and his Magma Bazooka fight lol! 😂
@@leongyuhinleong That's a good point. Considering that Inti made MM9 right after ZXA, there's a good chance that Buckfire's arrows served as the basis for Magma Bazooka.
Since I feel bored, time to make a Pokémon Battle Joke: DZ3 used Toxic! The opposing CutMan.EXE became badly poisoned. DZ3 used Fire Spin! The opposing CutMan.EXE became trapped in a vortex!
モデルa(アンティーク)でクリアしてしまうなんて!
Dude, I never bothered going upwards there. I'm utterly amazed 0:55
Thanks! That section is quite tough to do quickly. It makes sense that it houses one of the more powerful Cyber-Elves.
Model a is so silly, and I love its inclusion. However, any form of gameplay where you can only do 1 damage compared to the expect 3+ per shot... is not what I'd find fun at all. Great job though, I'm not patient enough to get through that!
Thanks! Using Model a during boss fights does take a lot of patience. It's much more suited to fighting regular enemies, so if you ever want to give it a try, I recommend picking any stage and messing around with it to see what you can come up with.
Very nice, btw in what are you playing ZX Advent?
Thank you! For all of my Zero/ZX stuff, I play using Retroarch. I find emulation much more convenient for recording purposes. For ZXA specifically, I use the undub romhack.
Buck broken.
This is Buck breaking
when will the childre abuse end
Ooooo so cool
"YOU CAN DO THAT!?" or "WHAT!" Were the only things I could say while watching this. Even having played this series a few times, there's still so much I never knew about.
Glad I could help you discover some new tricks. That's the beauty of Mega Man in general. There are always new and interesting ways you can approach stages and bosses, no matter how many times you play.
DZ3 never fails to amaze
I have to say, I never bothered exploring the stage beyond what is needed for full points. The secret rooms for crystals are new knowledge to me.
I honestly can't recall if I knew about the secret rooms before, but even if I did, I certainly forgot about them. For this run, I made sure to reference a map so that I could commit the route to memory and ensure I didn't miss any items.
Swag
1:05 He jugado este juego por años y JAMAS habia visto ese Life-Up :0 . Eres increíble, sigue así 👍
Thank you very much!
That was sick!🎉
this is the coolest way to play z2 i have seen. more of this please
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Full item collection runs aren't something I typically do, but this one ended up being quite interesting, so I'll consider doing more in the future.
Oh...yeah I guess assuming the rod wouldn't reach the top platform at 0:50 wasn't exactly my brightest moment
Skipping the first few platforms and hooking onto that one saves a lot of trouble. Generally, you want to minimize the amount of precision swinging with the Chain Rod, as it's quite difficult to get right, even after extensive practice. Thanks again for the suggestion, it was fun to work on.
Siiiick
Oh… another inspiration from another person. I guess Marcus Mayo wasn’t the first person you watch from 100% run. Also notice a pattern on your daily upload videos, you tend to upload one video per week, the rest is just practice runs off screen on your own lol.
Yup. There are a few reasons why, but I find that aiming for one video per week works well for me, especially when trying to complete particularly difficult ideas like this one.
@@DZ-Three I see.
The distespect jajajajajajaja I love it
The difference between just the time bars alone is hilarious, lmao.
To be fair to Model ZX, it does have the intro portion where Powmettaur gets bonked in the head. Still, ZX taking roughly a third of the runtime on its own is indeed funny.
