Took me awhile to memorize the timing for the blocks too, but such a knowledge is so insignificant compared to the boss fight that I normally glossed over it and suffer the same fate.
That's exactly the problem. You spend so much time practicing Omega that the timing of the blocks becomes an afterthought. After this happened, I practiced the return trip a ton to make sure it didn't happen again.
It does make me wonder why Inti Creates felt it necessary to place a Heat Man section before and after the hardest boss in all of Zero/ZX. Then again, they're no strangers to sadistic boss and level designs.
What makes it worse is that Omega didn't heal during this particular attempt, so I could've showcased this exceptionally rare circumstance in my proper ZX run.
i still don't get why didn't any megaman villain think of filling an entire level under their control with powerspikes. maybe gate and sigma get a pass at X5 and X6 but are those spikes really that expensive?
In the Zero series, the Neo Arcadia stages are the ones with the highest concentration of spikes. The Rainbow Devil stage in Z1 and Area X-2 in Z3 are particularly notable. The fact that spikes appear in areas key to Neo Arcadia and less frequently everywhere else does suggest that there's probably a substantial expense involved.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Some bloopers aren't all that entertaining, but as soon as this one happened, I knew I had to save it and publish it sometime.
"Wait, but you didn't die against Ome-. OH. Right. *That part."*
That moment of realization is the exact reaction I was looking for in this video, knowing the inevitable doom that the spike pit will bring.

1:23 Oops… fell like a klutz… MegaMan 2 HeatMan Flashback vibes.

@@DZ-Three LOL!
I completely forgot about that room until the moment you exited lmao. Brought back a lot of memories of anguish.
Yup, it's pretty rough. It's not enough to just beat the mad-dashing lunatic; you've gotta fly over the obscenely giant spike pit in reverse too.
Always hated that section with the disappearing blocks. I always died a lot at that part.
Where is my Item 2 or Rush Jet when I need one lol!
I thought I had practiced it enough, especially since HX makes it a lot easier. Evidently not.
Imagine doing no damage on the hardest boss of the game just to die for freaking spikes.

I WAS EXPECTING A CONTROLLER DISCONNECT OR STH
That would've been preferable. In that instance, I could at least lay the blame on something other than my own ineptitude.
that's happened to me, and i say it's cool
It's pretty annoying in the moment, but in the end I got a fun video out of it, so it's all good.
@@DZ-Three just the true, i think to throw my ds on a wall

@@DZ-Three my guess is that since spikes kill anyone on contact they’re incredibly risky to make, so mass producing them can backfire heavily
Lmfao! I'm so glad you published this.
