Kick the Blue Drum - Live at The Comet, Northside, Cincinnati OH
Просмотров 110Год назад
Kick the Blue Drum performing their tune Kentango at The Comet in Northside on April 28, 2023. Bill Littleford - guitar, vocals, Chris Novy - drums, Josh Moore - bass. I played thru 2 amps at the same time; a 1954 Gibson GA20 and a 1960 Ampeg Rocket. Hard to hear the vocals but that's my fault for playing thru too many amps.

1960 Ampeg Rocket amp - Live Rock example
Просмотров 273Год назад
I've been using this old 1960 Ampeg Rocket amp lately for gigs. Here I'm using it in a rock format. Seems to work well with pedals as well. Pedal chain is MXR phase 90, Fulltone GT-500, mini Flashback delay. Jam is based on Cissy Strut by the Meters. Recorded live on 1/26/23 in Hamilton, OH. Bill Littleford - guitar, Noah Cope - bass, Kevin Coggeshall - drums.

Tenor Madness by Sonny Rollins performed live at the now defunct Riverbank Cafe in Hamilton, OH sometime in September 2009. Jim Pelz stopped by after a gig and plugged his Tele into the normal channel of my Deluxe Reverb while I played my 1997 Epiphone Dot in the Reverb channel. Bill Littleford - guitar, head and 1st solo, Jim Pelz - guitar, 2nd solo, Josh Moore - bass, Chris Novy - drums.

I've been using this amp a lot more lately. It has a nice 'with a little dirt' sound. As you can see, it's pretty rusty. Maybe that helps? But it all still works. It can get that 'snarl' if that's a sound you like. Bill Littleford - all instruments.

Original Boss Chorus Ensemble CE-1 pedal - Chick Corea's Spain

This old pedal is really beat up and warbles like a uni-vibe. I'm playing through the Fender Champ amp. Tascam 424 MKII 4 track and Gibson GA-20 amp
Просмотров 3973 года назад
I decided to get out the old 4 track this weekend. I bought it back in the last century. It was a major purchase back in the day. It seems to be in ok shape but one wonders why I would bother to use it with today's advanced technology. Everything is twice as much work. You have to run lots of cables. There's dropouts (the bass guitar kinda disappears half way through) and the monitor mix is pre...

      Thanks man, the mic setup is pretty simple. Sennheiser MK 4 into a Soundcraft mixer then to the Tascam DP-008. The Tascam's pres aren't the greatest so the Soundcraft really helped.

    I was wondering if your GA19rvt still has the sprague circuit that came stock in many of these. I have a 63. Either the prior owner had spraque circuit removed , or it didnt come with one.. Mine sounds very nice with a Weber 12a125-a. What nice reverb, trem, and general tone.

    • @bltfan1976
      @bltfan1976 9 месяцев назад

      It's been awhile since I opened it up but I remember the circuit looked like the tweed falcon. Nothing has been changed in it since it was made. Everything in it had 1962 date codes so I believe it was either late 1962 or early 1963. But who knows with Gibson amps, I'm not sure when they started using that sprague circuit but this one doesn't have it.
