I just finished my first Postcrossing! Thank you so much for sharing this awesome hobby!

This sound so fun! I love junk journaling and making cute cards and envelopes for people's birtday, so I feel that knowing that a postcard which I put a lot of care on doing would fall on the hands of someone who would apreciate it a lot sounds lovely! Although... I have to say that I'm pretty bad at small talk, so maybe I wouldn't know what to write about! What do you usually write on the postcards? PS. Would love to see a video of you talking about junk journaling!

I am also not a perfectionist, but I still get frustrated when I make mistakes! I remind myself I am not a machine and the little mistakes speak to the handmade nature of my craft. Once I finish the project I find a lot of charm in the imperfections (even the ones that made me want to pull my hair out in the moment) - LOVE the finished product 🎃 have the itch to make my own Halloween quilt now

Here is my advice for a sewing machine: Look for a vintage machine, make sure to look up the machine before buying to make sure it's not a beast to work with. Personally use a Bernina 930 and I love her with my whole being. There are other ones I can suggest too that are vintage if you're interested, just let me know. Another option is the Singer heavy duty. This machine is around $200 depending on where it's from and it will be able to handle quilting better. As for improving your actually quilting I would recommend purchasing a walking foot for your sewing machine it will help feed your fabric through more evenly. Really take your time ironing as well, it's so tedious but I mist my fabrics with water and then iron them to really get the fabric ironed flat. Another way to do this is when you're pre-washing your fabrics, don't dry the fabric all the way, when it's about 60% dry you can iron it and it will be so much easier to get super flat which will help you pin better and then making the actually quilting better. I love seeing you get more into quilting! It's how I first got into sewing. This quilt came out so cute :)

the finished quilt is so so great! on your quilting frustration, i'd suggest quilting at a much slower speed. i quilt with my machine at 1/2-3/4 the speed i use for piecing and garment sewing. i find it gives me more control when making my lines and time for my hands/the feed dogs to smooth out the backing.

How do you attach the doll head to the crochet piece? I'm thinking of making a doll head bag but I'm not sure how you fix the head onto it.

Hi! I can´t do my own binding edges yet, I get all sweaty and grumpy... Maybe it is not the moment for diy it. Slay today in another way!!! Btw, at least here in Spain, we can find old second hand sewing machines. Maybe you can too and can consider it as an option. But maybe it is not an option too, check it out maybe!!!!!

How many people **make** their friends gifts? Especially something big like a quilt? Personally, I'd be ecstatic to receive a quilt. 35:00 :O CONGRAAATS :D. My projects: Dragonair is crying in the corner while I work on halloween props. I'm making Pumpkaboo, drifloon x2, mimikyu, shuppet, gengar, and spydull (a fakemon) for lawn decoration. For costumes, Froslass for me, mismagius for mom, and maybe a suuuper rough Dusclops for dad. These are all being made out of cardboard, hot glue, chicken wire, packing paper, aluminum foil, foam clay, and rodent wire for the base. Then, fancy paper mache with a lot of school glue and a super cheap fabric I got on aliexpress for like $10 for 20 yards, something ridiculous. Horrible even for mockups, but great for this application. Things I've learned so far. 1- Making complex curves with cardboard is rough. 2- If your hot glue gun drools, get a new glue gun. One drool bit landed on the side of my pinky and it huuuurts. So that something and decker is now in the trash that I may or may not set on fire

Have you considered putting an Armature into your critters? If you make a lineing then you can sew in magnets squeakers, fidget toys and more. Then the outer fabric will hide all of the kinetic bits. think Armatures should be much more common in soft toys. Right now I'm working on designing a crochet frog with a retractable tounge.
