@@actioncollectibles5826 thank you! And yes, the video isn't going to rival a Sony a7c, that's not the point. But the video is certainly nicer quality than most DSLRs were offering at the time and it's really clean because of the full frame sensor. I love shooting video on this thing

@@EVRLYNMedia Yes its a very clean and beautiful image compared to other dslr’s at the time. Saw the short film you made with it and loved it. If you ever get your hands on a c100 mark ii it would be interesting to see what your thoughts are. It has the cleanest 1080p image till this very day and it’s as old as the 1DX. It’s just beautiful. Thats just my opinion. Truly your video on the 1DX has inspired me. 😄🍻

@@Me-gy7ykyeah and there's no way I'm attempting to fix a shutter failure by myself. These cameras are incomprehensibly complex inside. Pretty amazing canon managed to make a shutter with a 400k rating at all. Mines at 370k or so

ive seen them with well over one million clicks on the shutter before. mines at 370k. they're like the 90s honda of digital cameras. insanely reliable and built to last.

Gosh id love an r5c. Or any similar full frame cinema/video focused camera. This video was mostly filmed on my lumix gh6. Razor sharp and good performance from a MFT sensor but not the same as a big one

@@EVRLYNMedia Oh I get you! I recently started posting on this RUclips channel using the work R5c (perks of the job ig lol) It ALMOST makes me want to buy an R series camera for myself, but my beloved 5D Mk2 still stands strong (till I need to do video at home lol)

P.S. make the intro shorter, smoother and with normal colors.

@@daconpictures if youve seen my other videos youd know the cinematic intro is a staple of my videos :p and this one isnt entirely purposeless. It sets up the mood for the video and theres only like 10 seconds of sizzle before the video starts

dude, dont worry about it. Mimicry is literally how every human being learns. People that have a signature style either are extremely creative, lucky, or have been working at it for a very long time. Keep doing what youre doing, this style is awesome and yeah GxAce might have coined it first in popularity but its not his alone. And he should be flattered that we all love it. Youre awesome, keep it up, I wish I had the capability to mimic something enough to make it cool like this but my brain just doesnt process like that, im more gear/tool/mechanically inclined and its a massive bummer.

My intention wasn’t to cause hate i just wanted to give some insight. The process and struggle to grow as a youtuber is so tedious and their are so many great creators that are successful that it does make sense to emulate what works. I appreciate you being honest and open though, now im very interested to see how you develop your style. Im excited to see what you create in the future 🙏🏾

Do not listen to any of the hate. I know quite a few creators that are inspired off of gxace and people need to understand that most art forms are derivative. Ace bases his work off of bladerunner which also had few inspirations from other work and today there are works that are inspired from bladerunner. Everyone starts somewhere GxAce was literally like every other youtuber with the "Whats up guys! (insert name here) today we are reviewing (camera)!" It took gxace a few years to become what he is today as with any other photographer thats unique. Im here with you to see you grow

long before this i copied a youtuber called 32megabytes... i tried to make my own style in 2021 but didnt really like what i came up with. gxace inspires me even more than the 1dx itself does. like imagining getting the kind of shots he does caused me to make what id say is my best video ever

Look at some of my videos from 2021 if you want that. Im just trying to make something good i guess and this is the best video ive ever made even if it hinges off of someone elses style

Its ok to immulate a style, but this was a little too blatant, from the insert shots of CRTs and red lit tech to the way you showed your photos over a black background and synth music. Try to find your own voice, don't rely on someone else's, that's why you've received some deserved criticism. Not even trying to hate, cus some of your pictures were good, just change your format up, invent a distinct voice for yourself.

It totally is. Even my camera slider and tiny sets arent nearly enough to really look like gxace. So i kinda made it my own thing over time, embracing the red color wash and what i had on hand to make a retro futuristic look

@@EVRLYNMedia I adore, no, I love a camera review with balls. This one has them. I love that you sat down and went "you know what, most people think X, I think Y, here's my take". You also went with a music choice off the beaten path. You lit the talking head bits with a strong warm colour. This is very much not a run of the mill video from a run of the mill channel. I am a huge fan of GxAce, and my comparison to his approach is only meant as a compliment. Please carry on! :D

Sounds like the thumbnail preview. What happens if you open them in lightroom or your image processing software of choice?

If it helps, that camera is still one of my best shooters today. I converted it to full spectrum and it makes some beautiful infrared photos!
