Nikon F2 - Vintage Camera User Experience
Today we're looking at a Nikon F2, first released in 1971 as a fully redesigned successor to the popular Nikon F. F2s were widely adopted as the "PROFESSIONAL'S SLR". Nikon kept the F mount from the previous model, which was great for people who were upgrading to the F2. The F2 is modular, accommodating various accessories and interchangeable prisms. This all-metal classic weighs 840 grams without a lens.
I love that it's a simple, and fully manual camera - that I only need to set the aperture and shutter speed, relying on my own ability to gauge exposure. And that this camera will probably outlive -me-.
Thanks for watching.

Olympia GM8426 - Vintage Camera User Experience
Просмотров 2606 месяцев назад
This time we'll dive into the Olympia GM8426, a camera that's been dubbed a "scamera" and a "trashcam" by photo enthusiasts on the web. Released sometime in the 1980s and 1990s by the elusive New Taiwan Photographic Corp (also known as Ouyama), this camera is part of a peculiar wave of cheap cameras known for their suspect names (I have one that straight up has a Canon plaque on the top). There...
Nishika N8000 - Vintage Camera User Experience
Просмотров 3277 месяцев назад
This one's a bit quick! In this video, I'll go over the (very) limited feature set of the Nishika N8000, a lenticular, or stereo camera that uses 4 lenses to capture the same subject from slightly different angles. The N8000 captures 4 nearly identical, yet shifted, frames in the space of 2 normal 35mm film camera frames. The resulting image set can be printed into what is known as a lenticular...
Minolta Dynax 5 - Vintage Camera User Experience
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.9 месяцев назад
Minolta's Dynax 5 was a great camera, and really fun to use. There are so many features packed into this camera, it was like shooting a modern DSLR. The auto-focus is a real star, and was a main selling point for the higher end Minolta cameras. This model came toward the end of the SLR era, and Minolta chose to come out with a real banger. The film I used for this video was Kodak Pro Image 100....

Here's one for the collectors! In this video I run a roll of film through what might be the oldest camera I've ever shot with - The Balda Super Baldina. This is a German made 35mm film camera from the 1950s. It requires a bit of focus to get used to shooting if you're more familiar with standard SLRs. Let's check it out! Thanks for watching! Nikon F4 - Vintage Camera User Experience

Let's check out one of the greatest SLR cameras of all time, Nikon's F4. This camera is one of the very first SLRs to have both an auto-focus drive as well as matrix metering. The F4's a bit more complicated than some of the previous cameras I've been testing. Let's see just how much more complex this beast really is! Thanks for watching. In this video, I'm testing an Olympus Trip MD - one in a long line of successors to the Trip 35. This little camera is easy to use and has a pop-up flash. What I really like is the ability to easily switch between ISO settings, so you can quickly alter the exposure of your scene. Watch the video to find out how to use this neat little switch! Thanks! When FujiFilm's FinePix A120 came out in 2004, it looked quite different from many of the contemporary pocket digital camera's available! The controls are very basic, the menu outdated, and the shooting experience somewhat like taking photos with a toy, but the view finder, the slide lens cover and it's unique form are reason enough to pick up and try this camera. Pentax MX, features depth of field preview & self timer & shutter lock. Use a wrist or neck strap to prevent dropping the camera.
My favorite 35mm body, with the original F a close second. Thanks for sharing.
I've yet to try an F - keeping my eye out for one in my area, and I hope I enjoy it as much as the F2.
hi! can you share the camera settings please?
I have the ef version
Cool! What's the major difference?
On behalf of Camera-wiki : Thanks for publishing your video ! A link to this video was added to the "Ricoh RZ-700" page on the Camera-wiki Please note that no direct links could be given as that violates the RUclips rules.
I'm glad you find the video helpful! And I really, really, appreciate you dropping by and telling me. Have a great week and more ahead!
I have this camera but I can’t find a charger for it! Do you know which one I should buy??
Hi Saoirse, Thanks for watching and for writing! I don't know whether these options will work for you or not, but I found searching "olympus fe 47 charger" in Amazon found suppliers of MiniUSB 2.0 8Pin cables in both Canada and the US. I hope that helps you narrow your choices. I'd check user reviews on Amazon to see if anyone successfully used a cable before trying one myself. Good luck!
25 years ago, this was a camera that haunted me.
Hope it haunted you in the good way! Do you still use one?
@dancrowderphotography8123 yes, I am, F4S with 20-35 2.8 and F4E 58mm 1.4G, but it's too heavy. Although I enjoyed the process, I bought contax rxii and 85mm 1.4 because I like the slow shooting process. But most of the time I still use Sony's rx100vii to record my life.
My daily carry is the F2 but the close second is my F4. I like how the F4 starts to cut off circulation to my head.
Funny enough, the F2 is my go-to, as well. Cutting off the circulation is a wild path to creativity!
but how you find the pictures you took?
Hi! I removed the SD card and used a USB SD card reader to transfer the image files to my PC. I got my card reader on Amazon, but they're available in lots of stores, as well. My laptop has an integrated card reader, too. Best of luck!
Does it read sd memory cards of 64gb?
The manual says SD and SDHC (up to 32GB) are supported. A 64GB memory card would be SDXC format, which is not supported by the camera. Good luck!
Not gonna lie, there's not even a single video on yt which can compete with the level nd dedication with which you've compared with a lot of cameras
I really appreciate you spending time with the channel and dropping by to leave this comment. It's curiosity that drove me to make these videos, and curiosity that connects them with similarly interested people like you. Happy shooting!
@dancrowderphotography8123 Exactly 🤗🌺
whats the SD card call?
just bought one from ebay, the film advance lever is completely loose and the shutter is stuck open. you know of any fixes for this without tearing the camera aprt?
I have no knowledge of camera repair, but I know it's often cheaper to replace these than to have them fixed. Wishing you luck with finding a fix or a replacement.
I bought one, but when I take the photo the photo comes out very white, why is it? What brand of batteries ...
how to turn it on
helloo, can you share your settings please? i bought the camera but i dont know which ones to play with to have a good balance
Open up the bottom plate and spray some alcohol to loosen up the grime.
any settings you recommend for taking photos? The camera I found off the thrift store doesnt have the mod wheel, and I would just like to know some manual settings. Cheers :)
I love this video❤
Hello, could you tell me if she accepts it Adapter from memory card xd olympus the yellow one?
Hi Dan! Great video and loved your pictures. What kind of roll did you used? And if you have a 200 gold roll would you advise to install the camera on 400 or 200?
The pictures are so clear! I just bought one for $21 usd on ebay. Any tips?
💯🇹🇷⭐️👍 I have 1 of this F3 device, it is very clean, it is for sale, if anyone is interested, there is a video on my RUclips channel.

Cheers for sharing your experience with this minolta dynax 5. That's another camera I've got to look out for now.😊
Would this work for gaming consoles? Would the cooling keep up with the heat of a ps5 or a Xbox series X running separate? Any info would help. Thank you
my dad bought it when it came out and it was our family travel cam. recently converted it to infrared. it's so much fun.
I just found 2 of our sony cyber shot digicams, i had to search how would i be able to use it again and stumble upon this video. now i have a reason to make it work again. however my sony cybershot 1080p doesn't turn on anymore so i have to bring it into a repair shop.
I have one, but all my photos are blurred. Maybe you know the reason?
Your shots are great. What lense do you have
vintage T-T i recently found the one my dad had and it still had pictures of my now mid 20 year old sister when she was a young kid and i wasnt even born yet i got those of the camera and send em to my dad its a great camera it still shoots beautiful pictures
what happened when the fan is not working ? how is the customer services ?
I love my Nishika, so please don't get mad if you see my video calling it the WORST film camera. Its just so flimsy feeling. You got some nice wiggles. I like the robot and the Street sign! Subbed
This is the camera I borrowed from my mom during my sophomore year at university. I had nothing to compare it to at the time. All I knew what that suddenly I was in love with photography, so even if it was kind of an underwhelming camera, thanks for being in the right place at the right time, Fuji. You got me hooked.
can u please help me ? what kind (model) of battery and charger I should use ? I have to change them.
Gracias amigo
This was my family camera back in the day, and when I went to college, I wanted to bring an old digital camera with me, and I remembered I had this. The pics all looked amazing, and gave off the exact vibe I wanted. I found the original box in my basement the other day, and it said something about a printer made for it, and I want to buy one, but I'm not sure if all of the Kodak printers at the time are the same. Would you have any idea about that?
How do you get the pictures out of the film like this?
If you google wide panorama compact the first 2 million hits are this camera
I have the same camera that I found when I visited my grandparents, I have the problem that I put the batteries correctly, I turn it on and it lasts about 5 seconds and it turns off, but if I go to favorites it turns me on well, also that it detects as if it had low battery despite being with new batteries
How many gb or mb is the maximum for this camera ?
The Minolta Maxxum (Dynax) 5 is probably my favorite film camera. It has so many great options, my favorite being the choice to leave the film leader out or rewind it fully into the canister. I like the camera so much, I bought a 2nd one, just in case.
Hi, I also have this camera but I’m unsure how to rewind the film without loosing the end. My camera only has the rewind button on the back.
It pays to get your hands on the camera manual since this camera has 14 Custom Settings. The Film TIp Custom Setting is #3. Turn on the camera, turn the Function Dial to CUST, turn the Control Dial to select the Custom Setting you want to set (CUSt 3, in this case). Press and hold the FUNC button while turning the Control Dial and select either 1 - Film Tip Rewound or 2-Film Tip Left Out. When done, release the FUNC button. After you've changing your Custom Settings, turn the Control Dial to any other setting except CUST. If you keep your Function Dial on CUST, you can still take photos but all button/switches are disabled except the Shutter Release button. Your Custom Settings can only be changed manually and will remain even after you turn off the camera or press the Program-Reset button.
Thank you so much for this information.
I have this camera and it is extremely blurry can’t tell if it’s just broken
when i turn it on it says "usb mode PTP .... memory stick switch on Menu" im not sure what i need to do as its used and i never used a camera before can u help
I have this exact camera but I have trouble finding a memory card for it please could you link one
OMG, i'm new to cameras and this video is exactly what I needed
I'm very glad this helped you! Have you chosen a camera yet?
Hermoso video. 🙏🏻 & Me sirvio. Thank uuu.
Thanks for dropping by the channel and writing. I'm glad you found the video useful!
Careful when loading film to keep the curled end of the film away from that sensitive shutter mechanism. Pull it across so it can't interfere with the shutter blades.
Great advice! Thank you for bringing that up and I hope nothing happened to your shutter!
@@dancrowderphotography8123 I got a Canon EOS in from eBay with damaged vertical shutter blades, and was astounded to see how thin they are to allow start / stop acceleration for 1/8000 speed.
Thank you for this excellent video ! I just got this camera in my grandparents house and this video was really helpful
Thanks for dropping in to watch and for writing. I hope you have a blast with your 'new' camera!
Im from india, my grandparents had a camera which i used to be fascinated about since my childhood. Im 19 now. My grandparents live in a village, and guess what i found an vintage Olympia gm8426 master! Its so amazing that these cameras reached around the world in the 80s and 90s. I took this camera with me, its not in good condition, the lens is broken and the camera doesn't work but i plan to restore it. No matter how shitty photos it clicks compared to todays camera, it has it's own legacy and uniqueness. I wont call it shitty but beautiful!!! Awesome video! ❤️
Great way to look at it! If YOU like and enjoy the camera, it's the right one, no matter how good or bad it may seem. These cameras have a 'look' and I bet you'll have a great time with yours once restored. Thanks for sharing and writing! Hope we'll see what you end up shooting!
