Instead of finishing a game to review this month, I've been playing too much Deadlock. Whoops. I guess I have to make a preview video on it. The new moba/heroshooter whatever from Valve is finally here for anyone willing to beg for a playtest invite online... and it's pretty damn good. Here I got into my thoughts on the game and just some general gameplay footage. I haven't felt this way about ...

It's has made a lot of innovations in it's UI and new player experience, making it Paradox's most accessible game to date. I've gotten around 250 hours in the game at this point and thought it was finally time to put my...

You need to take the opportunity to practice specific situation as mny times as possible, especially combat tactics. If you just die and restart you will always learn less than the tryharder who replayed his battle 99 times. Commitment mode is good after mastering and enjoying the game

    This one has been in my backlog for a long time. Its interesting enough I want to play it someday but hasn't ever reached the top of my to play next list. Every time it gets close either something happens that puts me in the mood for a different genre, something new comes out higher on my want to play now list, or I find a good deal on something I've been wanting a long time. I was hoping to start it in a few weeks but then the System Shock Remake came to consoles and it fixes my biggest complaint in the original game plus has a setting much more interesting to me then this so it went higher on the priority list.

    I first played this on PS2 because I got a PS2 shortly after it came out and my PC couldn't run it (Back then dad bought a new PC every couple of years and I got the old one so it was late 2003 before I had a PC that could run it. I remember being annoying because I was limited in my ending choices by running short on multitools despite having put a decent amount of points in both Computers and Lockpicking I hadn't put many in Electronics, aka the Multitool skill. I would love a remaster of this. I'm not sure if its my favorite in the series but its IMO much better then the second game. I wish there were more weapons though. This is one of the few game franchises I heavily use Pistols in because I generally used a silenced Pistol or Stealth Pistol until detected then use an Assault Rifle or Shotgun if the enemy notices me. But I would love having some kind of Machine Pistol so I could focus more points in the Pistol skill while putting fewer into Rifles for a run as an example.

      @@stonedskeletongaming It looked good but pretty much everything else was a backstep IMO. All guns share a common ammo so if you run out of ammo for your favorite gun you can't fall back on a weapon using a different ammo type. The skill point system is removed so your only ability upgrades come from Augmentations. And while I don't remember all the endings clearly the ones I do recall all suck, and basically make it impossible to continue the story which is probably part of why the third and fourth games are both prequels set before the original game.

    I haven't gotten this one yet though I've played both of the previous Baldur's Gate games and both of the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance games many times. I might get this soon but I'm not sure if I''ll start it before summer ends if I do get it soon> I had to choose between this and Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader at one point and went with the latter. I was really hoping they would include the Artificer class as an option for the protagonist in this but they didn't which decreased my interest in paying anything close to full price for it. Plus I generally prefer space scfi settings to sword and sorcery, and Rogue Trader actually lets you control your ship in combat something I think every RPG where the protagonist is the captain or pilot of some form of armed craft should allow you to do. Add the fact that Frigates are my favorite ship type in general, and I was very pleasantly surprised when I found out your primary ship in Rogue Trader was a Frigate instead of a much larger Cruiser like I had expected. And Rogue Trader has one of my top five favorite game love interests so I'm ok with my choice. Unless they add the Artificer class before I start the game (which I don't expect.) I'll be going with either a Rogue or a Bard as my first character, and probably the other on run two.

      I’m at work atm so just wanted to say I appreciate the response! I’m still waiting for rogue trader to be fixed. I got to act 3 when it released and just want to give it a year. I’d still say give bg3 a try, but if the artificer is a deal breaker I’m sure it’ll go on sale soon

      @@stonedskeletongaming If Baldur's Gate 3 had come out in 21 or early 22 buying it full price despite the lack of an Artificer might not have been as big a deal for me. But due to RL my fun budget is much smaller then it was back then so I have to be much pickier about which games I pay full price for because i will probably be a while before I can buy another full price game. And that means any significant disappointing feature like lack of a class I was hoping to be able to play as sends a game straight to the get on a good discount list.

      @roguerifter9724 4 месяца назад

      @@stonedskeletongaming Yeah I didn't start my Rogue Trader run until early February so I imagine many of the initial bugs were gone before I started. The early part of Chapter 3 wasn't fun because my Rogue Trader was an Officer so the lack of party members early in the chapter was annoying. At least I had the right weapon proficiency to let me use the weapons I took off the early fallen enemies letting me equip a one hand Pistol and one hand Melee weapon combo that was close to one of my two typical weapon sets (The other being a two hand Shotgun) It was also kind of annoying that my Rogue Trader's love interest Cassia was the last of their party members the chapter let them get back on the team. I used some of my recent birthday money from family members to get the season pass. One of the reasons I won't be starting Baldur's Gate 3 right away even if I get it during the upcoming Summer sales is that I don't want to be mid run of it when the Voidship focused Rogue Trader DLC comes out. I just hope my save I have for running the DLCs isn't too late in the game to start the DLC or something. (Its shortly before the point of no return for the last chapter.)

    I love this. It was one of the first PS3 games I owned. (I didn't get my PS3 until November 2011 and started playing this in January 2012 despite playing three other RPGs and taking a two to three week road trip in the interim) I've made three complete runs and had a partial run that got erased when I was forced to reset my PS3 to Factory spec after losing my internet connection while downloading a system update. My first run I played a Tech Specialist/Engineer with my three specialized skills maxed (Shotgun, Sabotage, and Technical Aptitude), Assault Rifle as high as it can be without specializing and a few points each in Pistol and Toughness with more in Pistol. My Second was a Tech Specialist/Operative specializing in Submachine Gun, sabotage, and Technical Aptitude with those maxed Assault Rifle as high as possible and a mix of Toughness and Pistol but leaning more towards Toughness. My third run (The unfinished one) my classes and planned build were much the same as my second run but the points in Assault Rifle would go to Shotgun instead and I'm not sure how far I got in it. My latest run I went Engineer maxing all the specialized skills and Submachine Gun with my usual points in Toughness and Pistol. If a game has an Engineer class that will almost always be my first run's class and my most played class unless it has a separate Computer Hacker class, a separate Drone Operator class, or both in which case my first run's class will be one of the above with which depending on my mood, and sometime experience with a prior game in the series. (For example in my first Shadowrun Returns run I made a Rigger, an Engineer and Drone Operator hybrid, expecting to have another party member to be a Decker to handle the decking or computer hacking side of things. But that game doesn't give additional permanent party members just hired for a single mission mercenaries so the next game in the trilogy I played I made a Decker in case the lone permanent party member trait was still in use.) I always had a few points in Pistol because its the only gun with a non-lethal ammo option and there are some missions with hostiles I don't want to kill just disable. I wish the game would let me ditch the Pistol for a set of Submachine Guns, an Assault Rifle, or a Shotgun dropped by the enemy once I'm past the mission sections with hostiles I don't want to kill though,

    I usually go for a Tech and Weapon build. I was so happy when I discovered this game had actually decent Shotgun Shells. For some reason I have never understood the developers of the original game thought including a Shotgun while making the only Shotgun ammo in the game rubber slugs was a good idea. Seriously who under attack by killer robots or cyborgs thinks this is a good time to use rubber bullets? Fortunately both the sequel and the remake didn't repeat this mistake.

    The first rescue mission I got was saving my starting pawn's MIL. She had dementia from the start, so she has a designated 'Elders' area she lives within, meaning her dazes do not take her outside our outer walls. I was very protective of her for a long time... until I realised she is great at melee. Now she goes to war with the rest.

    There's just something special about New Vegas. The developers gave us complete freedom and managed to weave together many compelling narratives. The soundtrack is fantastic and the attention to detail when it comes to guns is something only Tarkov managed to best many years later.

    One of my favorite games and I still play it regularly. Your accent is very interesting. I can tell you're an Aussie but it's very slight. Most Aussie RUclipsrs I've watched have very thick accents and it's strange to hear one that sounds almost American (I hope that's not insulting, it's not meant that way). Your voice has a kind of Duke Nukem quality to it.

    Good review, but I must correct you on one thing. Need to sleep. No. Like you need to sleep couple hours every week and that's enough. Or you could just make coffee or drink atomic cocktails and never need to actually sleep (timers in GECK are like 1:50 which means 1sleep for 50 RL sec, or 200 sleep every 4 days and 4 hours + one hour of sleep makes 60 sleep or so fall so it's enough). That's a shame, really because even eat is too easy if you level survival skill. Now apart from that and me making a mod to enhance this aspect, I am addicted to the game like crazy man let me tell you.

    • @stonedskeletongaming

      @@stonedskeletongaming you should do a full review on hardcore mode, base game is good but dlc food stuffs make it way easier down the line, with a minimum survival level of 40 you can make gecko kebabs which give both food and water, just eat one of those and knock back a atomic cocktail and your good for about three in game days, than bring 12 doctors bags and as many stims as you need, also you kind of have to build yourself right, I usually go for max strength intelligence and luck so I hit everything I shoot at have the most base max weight and be somewhat good with meds, btw I cant play new vegas on normal mode, after my second playthrough I was hooked

    I play Fallout 3, NV and 4 no VATS only. I tell people so they might think I am special! Actually I just get so used to VAT that I cannot hit anything in real time so It was easier for me just to give it up. A tip for New Vegas that I learned from Fallout 3 is to pick the weapon people are shooting you at. At least the same ammunition. So in Fallout 3 I used the Assault Rifle against Super Mutants only. Works well in hardcore.
