The Real Amanda Turner
США
Добавлен 26 дек 2021
Hey everyone! This is your girl, Amanda Turner! Real Estate Agent in Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico. Sold everything I owned in St. Petersburg, Florida about 8 years ago, packed my bags and shipped myself south of the border. Opened a cafe, became a partner at Estrellita's Bed & Breakfast and am slangin' homes in Ajijic.
Ajijic is a tiny gem located on the largest lake in Mexico, Lake Chapala, and is 1,538 metres (5,046 ft) above sea level in Mexico's Volcanic Axis, also known as the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt. There is a large expat community of Americans, Canadians and various other cultures that have settled here, mostly due to it's spectacular lush greenery and lake views, with an average yearly temperature of 75 degrees fahrenheit.

Another great video on how white people have driven the price of housing up for the indigenous people of Mexico. Way to go gringos. Please spare me on how you are saving Chapala by bringing your dollars to the area. Mexico was fine before you came and will be fine after you leave. What won't be fine is the mess of inflation you leave behind for housing in an area that does not belong to you. Jose Ph.D.

How about AC? I know abou😂t you bnb but looking for nothing without AC.
People really need to walk through any of the towns to experience what it would feel like to live there. I could not live in El Centro of Chapala. For me it would be either in any of the gated communities north of the highway in the mountains or, perhaps, La Floresta. Location, location, location.
U have to be stupid to pay that price... N that's your comment. Another stupid gringo
I totally agree with getting some experience before purchasing.
Congratulations on your new office. I really like the third one.
Thank you, me too!
Congrats on your office change, best wishes…. Loved the 3 properties😮❤ Oh! Did Jose go with you?

Yes!!🎉🎉🎉
Is it true American citizens can only own property for 100 years only ?
I have not heard that, and don't think it is true, but I will look into it.
Fantastic job , Amanda you are doing amazing work… the prices are tremendous… the second one has absolutely so much character and with some tweaks it could be the one, the first is unreal that you can get that much house for under 300k… Orlando it would be 500k… is there any financing available???
Thank you so much, and really glad you're watching! Yes, financing options are available. Email me at therealamandaturner@gmail.com and I can send them to you.
Hey sexy while u in that mexico heat we wanna see u in the beach with a swimsuit ❤
The house and the location is perfect, but just 2 bedrooms??? For that price I think is little over price for 2 bedrooms house! Anyway the view to the lake is soo beautiful!!! Thanks you for show this house
I will need to work for another 1000 years before I will be able afford these beautiful houses😊 Oh😢
Amanda, We arrived from GDL in Ajijic Village today, with fresh Mexican resident cards to boot. We are staying till Monday and want to get a feel for the residential areas around. We plan on selling everything, including our California home, coming spring, and head to Mexico. Any recommendations for a guide who could show us around, i.e. Raquet Club, etc.? We are on Constitución, near your Cafe and Bed and Breakfast.
I can take you around for sure. Just send me an email and we'll coordinate. therealamandaturner@gmail.com
Nice homes. I love the music and the way you show where the homes are. The bike path is a very good option going through Ajijic. Going to Chapala there are fewer traffic jams. We would love to see more in this price range.
Thanks for watching, Tim! I'll try to get more of these out.
Nice, big houses, spacious rooms, and fabulous views! I love the music accompanying the videos, especially the first one. Very enjoyable! I send these to friends in Colorado and California to entice them to buy a place and move here.
That's awesome, thank you Renee!

You're welcome! :)
Yay, a new video from Amanda! I love the second house - it has big rooms, so much character, and the price is under $300,000. West Ajijic is a great location, too. Great video!
Aww! ❤Yeah sorry about the wait, got pretty slammed down here. I would totally live in West Ajijic, quiet, scenic, new infrastructure.
@@therealamandaturner It's quiet here in SJC, at least in my neighborhood, which is a mixture of high-end houses, old, renovated fishing huts like mine, and actual shacks. There is a lot of new building here, something I think you mentioned in another video. I so admire your business acumen and accomplishments, Amanda! I hope to visit your cafe, El Gato Feo, one day.
@@Renee60722 Yes, slow market, but it's been picking up the last week, yay! Thank you so much Renee, stop in anytime!
We will be looking for a one level home when we come next year.
Ok just send me an email when you're ready! amanda@lakechapalarealty.com
Not a big fan of the new format. Please spend more time showing and describing the homes.
Loved the last home….. wow! Affordable

Yes, beautifully constructed home. 👍
Oh my goodness, I absolutely LOVE that last house. I will be looking for just my cat and I in the near future.

Very nice home. Thanks!

Hi Amanda, just watched the video. If you are driving from Jocotepec to Costco you don't have to go all the way to Galerias. There's a Costco close to Punto Sur on Lopez Mateo. Also you have Galerias Santa Anita and Punto Sur for Shopping.
Yes, that's correct, thank you! I'm really just using Costco as a reference to distance to Guadalajara and Galerias is my favorite area to visit when I need to get some things. But yes, all good points! :)

This location is so dreamy Amanda! What do the HOA fees cover in this location?
I agree, absolutely beautiful location, and this neighborhood is very highly desired. HOA includes common maintenance, street lighting, garbage, and 24 hour manned gate. The gate guards are extremely good at their jobs in this community, they take security pretty seriously here.

The percentage of American expats living in Mexico is something like half a percent. The percentage of Mexicans living in the United States is something like 10%. So based on your rhetoric, Jose Ph.D., that would mean that Mexicans would also be responsible for the inflation in the US. Your dearest Claudia Sheinbaum's grandparents are from Lithuania and Bulgaria, and she's a Jewish president in a 91.2% catholic country. You voted in the most foreign of foreigners into your presidential office. Believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see.
@@therealamandaturner While you argue that American expats make up a small percentage of Mexico's population, their concentrated presence in areas like Chapala drives up housing prices, displacing local and indigenous populations and taking away opportunities for the best homes and lands. Expats often bring significant foreign currency, increasing demand and raising property values, which causes inflation in specific regions, making housing unaffordable for many locals. Comparing this to Mexicans living in the U.S. overlooks the power dynamics: expats typically have greater purchasing power, which directly impacts the local economy, unlike most Mexican immigrants in the U.S., who generally do not exert the same inflationary pressure on housing markets. Moreover, the suggestion that Claudia Sheinbaum’s background diminishes the relevance of these concerns is misplaced, as her administration could enact policies to curb foreign ownership and protect Mexican citizens from the negative consequences of gentrification. I assume you are bringing your "privilege" to Mexico. It won't exist for long. Policy changes will come. Suggestion: Go back to your country. José, Ph.D.

@@jh6392 The amount of wealthy Mexicans owning property in Lake Chapala outnumber that of wealthy Americans/Canadians that own property here. And who do you think it was that sold property to the expats? Mexicans. Who's building and selling to expats? Mexicans. But guess what the average home purchase price by expats is here... $350,000 USD. That's not a lot in comparison to what's available, my friend. The Mexicans from Guadalajara far exceed that number when they purchase here. You know why they purchase here? Because land in Guadalajara is 4x what it is in Lake Chapala due to inflation, and that definitely cannot be blamed on expats as they are a minuscule fraction of the population in GDL. Inflation is happening ALL over the world right now. I'm sorry to be the one to break it to you, Dr. Jose, but you are the few. You and your troll friends that look to be internet warriors on RUclips. Most Mexicans appreciate our presence here, and I'm not convinced that we're pushing Mexicans out. I don't know a single Mexican that has left Lake Chapala because it's too expensive. However, I do know many that have moved INTO Lake Chapala BECAUSE it has turned into a beautiful place to live with abundant opportunity. The point about Claudia Sheinbaum is that you're demonizing foreigners, yet voted for a "foreign" president. I'll tell you what the government is doing... they're raising the requirements for expats to become residents so that they're not competing for Mexican jobs when they do come here. I personally refuse to employ anyone who isn't a Mexican national, and I tend to also lean toward hiring those that are from Lake Chapala only. So no, your government is not raising prices to keep foreigners out. They're raising prices to stop enticing the lower income foreigners from coming so that Mexico will prosper more from wealthy expats. Gentrification has been in existence since the dawn of man. If it didn't exist, we'd still be hunter-gatherers.
@@therealamandaturner Your argument is fundamentally flawed because it misses the core issue: the disproportionate economic impact that expats have on communities like Lake Chapala. It's not just about who owns more property-it's about the purchasing power disparity. Expats, backed by stronger currencies, drastically inflate housing prices, making it impossible for locals, who earn far less in pesos, to compete. Sure, Mexicans may be selling land to expats, but that doesn’t change the fact that the influx of foreign money is driving up property values in a way that prices out local residents. What’s happening is gentrification-a well-documented phenomenon where wealthier outsiders push locals out of their own communities by making the cost of living unaffordable. So, it's not about numbers; it’s about the economic imbalance created by foreign buyers in these local markets. As for the argument that global inflation is to blame and that expats aren’t responsible, that’s a false equivalence. Global inflation affects all markets, but the localized inflation in places like Lake Chapala is directly tied to the influx of foreign capital. When expats come in with stronger currencies, they increase demand for housing, which drives prices up, especially in areas with limited supply. This isn’t just happening by chance-it's a direct result of gentrification, which displaces locals who can no longer afford to live in their own communities. You might think that expats are "improving" the area, but what you’re really doing is erasing local culture and communities by making it impossible for the original residents to stay. Jose, Ph.D

Bien hecho, gringos.
Another great video on how white people have driven the price of housing up for the indigenous people of Mexico. Way to go gringos. Please spare me on how you are saving Chapala by bringing your dollars to the area. Mexico was fine before you came and will be fine after you leave. Thanks! You should show how long by bike when following the bike path. It is often faster than driving. But I'm not taking my bike or walking to GDL :)
Yes I like that idea!

Omg, that large place looks so authentic… with a little bit of work and a pool what a fabulous B+B it could be… for the price, it would be a money maker… If I could only convince my hubby to buy in Mexico… I really would love to get my hands on that place… Thanks for sharing….
Yes, I totally agree! Tell him you're moving to Mexico, he'll follow. 😂
Fabulous spots… thank you for sharing… Is it really hard to adjust without Spanish speaking language??? Can we as Americans own property????
Hi! No it is not hard to adjust, most Mexicans here also speak English. And yes, you can own property as Americans.
Can you show us some cheaper little shack houses for those of us who are financially broke?
