Does the seller pay the real estate commission in Mexico? The laws just changed in the U.S on that matter. Also, if a buyer plans to buy for cash, is there any room to negotiate the asking price? Thank you. I hope to get there in January.
Hi, yes seller pays commission and buyer pays closing costs. Commission includes both buying and selling office. Most purchases are done in cash here, so it’s not a negotiating tool. Best negotiating tools are days on market and if the home needs some kind of improvement.
@@therealamandaturner --Thank you for taking the time to clarify. I like the area up the mountain that you see increasing in future value. If you have time, may I ask one more thing: Since I am a senior, I would want the property to go to my heirs. If they do not have Mexican residency, will that pose problems? Does the title/contract protect the expat who purchases a home there? Thank you again.
@@siouxrose7766no problem at all :) You can list someone as beneficiary of the home on the deed, and you should also have a Mexican will that states whom all of your possessions go to when you pass. Their name MUST match (including spelling) that of their passport.
