Frank Corrado: How is Tocchet handling the JT/Petey situation? An analysis of the Canucks roster.
Garland has grown on me the last 2 years, BUT his hockey sense isnt the best, he rarely makes a pass longer than 20 feet because he doesnt see those guys, he sees the ice very well 10-15 feet max
Watch ⌚️ that Edmonton vs Colorado game ...now that's how you play hockey 🏒 👏
is this a joke? we dont have the best player since mario on our team and edmonton doesnt have 10 nhl players total. if Connor leaves you will need 4 more 1st overalls to rebuild.
Brock has not been the same since his concussion this year
It’s almost looks as if the players are purposely trying to make management make a move.
I'm sure if the coach could have one wish come true in his life. They'd trade petey and Miller together to the same team
JT and EP need to coach up their lines. Cohesive lines win.
I'm sorry, did I hear you say that Vancouver might be the smartest hockey market there is?? As a lifelong Canucks fan, that's as absurd as suggesting JT for Bedard straight up.
Hockey has aproblem. Coaches shuffle playerson lines too much. They need to fix line play.
Petterson is not a game changer. He is willing this team into the dirt
Dont see any hungry hustle around the opposition net. Not much screening of goltender.
maybe Saturday the fans need to chant f u Alivin.F u Rutherford. And loud.
bring back team tank !!
4 games ago against the habs, hes mvp. take a breath boys, hes not going anywhere for a month at least
what if he is in fire during 4 nations ? wait til the deadline gets closer
why would u trade him now? he will only get more valuable as the trade deadline comes and teams that are close, overpay at the deadline.
Get Schenn back to punch JT in the face
Tnis team will lose in the 1st round even if they make it. It's a complete 360 from last year.
Boeser and suter for olivier
Gotta trade JT asap to see if Petey responds and gets back to an 11.6 player. If he doesn't then unload Petey before his ntc kicks in.
Trade Hienan and Vinny for Scheen
spell check please
Martin Scheen ? Charlie Scheen ?
Trade miller and Forbort for chytal k. Miller and a 1st
Why is Hoglander on team?😢
Demco is not playing well. Period. Petterson is paid like a star but is only a very good player. He doesn't score. If he could our power-play would be feared. 😂😂😂 Petterson is a sidekick not a star.
Sure wish we had Horvat.
Islanders are 2nd to last in the east, and he is averaging well under a point per game lol, what the hell is horvat exactly going to do?
why??
What do you think a disgruntled, bad dressing room center is going to bring us. A second and a bit player.
@jkhang2484 Locker room stability and face off wins clown 🤡
Ok wat happens if they turn up against the coilers and win
Team culture is a huge thing and the “core” of this team was in the middle of that country club atmosphere so I imagine that permeates into their attitude. Add to that you’ve lost a lot of character guys over the years (eg: Tanev, Schenn, Zad, Cole), the media is a bunch of high school drama seekers, coaching support is less, and most guys are under achieving compared to last year. It’s not one issue, this feels more like a perfect storm. Something needs to change nevertheless.
Trade both EP40 and JT. Include Demko as the bonus piece.
Hate to say this, but the team has been on a downward trajectory since Petey got his fat contract. When players see his production collapse, how is that not a morale killer.
And pettersson looked amazing when miller left. Anyway. If miller goes and pettersson become pettersson again. I am all for it. It is a high risk gamble. At same time. Majority of the blame is how terrible the defence is at puck moving , or playing high iq. If pettersson goes, and miller stays. We still have the potential toxic guy in the locker room for other dudes. Even if he plays good or not.
@@TheBlazersfan22 Hughes has as many goals as 11.6. Six Canucks have more goals than 11.6. 11.6 ranked 142nd in goals scored amongst all NHL players. 11.6 ranked 112th in points scored amongst all NHL players. 11.6 scored a top-five NHL salary and his playoff performance sucked and continues to suck. The blame lays with Elias and it's time to grow up.
Our dirty laundry ain't pretty!
Doesn’t he deserve to wait til this season ends. I think someone is going to be added that will really help and JT will again play to his capabilities as he heals
Buddy…stop lying to yourself the team’s cooked
"Celebrate or Commiserate" night at Greta Bar
Boeser and JT are banged up and need to sit but with our lack of scoring depth I don't think that will happen. Brock might have chronic issues back/wrist so this might be the time to sell even at a discount.
Never agreed more with Jeff.
I've been listening to you two for quite a number of years and I gotta say. Hearing Mat drop F bombs is always a surprise 😂 I like it don't get me wrong. Definitely not used to hearing it
Coliton isn't an NHL coach despite his time in Chicago.
I love how passionate Matt is about this
Media has been more of a tire fire than the team lol
well i dont know what f..kin team your watching but it certainly isnt the medias fault.
Tocchet ans Rutherford haven't been able to manage the issues with Miller, actually they're responsible for it
Explain why they’re responsible.
@@marcpost4034sure they never nipped it in the bud. They know whats going on in the room yet theyre mia.
Jeff is 100% correct. Addition by subtraction. Miller HAS to go, regardless of the return
Yes, the time has come.

is JT's problem the same as it was when he took 9 games off? if it mental, shouldn't he step away for awhile. if it is a permanent problem, cut bait and move on.
media ruined these players lol
No they didnt - the players frankly suck do does your very thought w out giving any thought to how patetically expensive this team currently is wasting money. that LA game was unacceptable .
@@adamtajhassam9188 wtf do you know about hockey
Stop blaming the media for highly paid professional athletes not performing, that's a B.S intellectually dishonest excuse.
@@bigamigo4863 idk, just seems obvious to anyone that has studied a little human psychology or managed people that a lot of media attention is going to cause anxiety to introverts, and there appear to be several on the team
Seems to be a massive distraction every single year. They're openly saying the noise is getting through to the room and their body language shows how disoriented they are.
Never Boring is honestly a great book! (Not paid or affiliated for it). Bought my ex-boss/mentor and my dad a copy for Christmas. The dysfunction is horrifying but interesting and with the Canucks - it was there since the very idea of the NHL Canucks.
Playoff teams need more high quality Canadian players
Yea, guys like "elias pettersson," and "Phil hronek" are weak and soft european players. They will simply never win a cup with players like that. You need canadian players that are tough and grinders if you want a cup. Similar to how the sedins where soft and got bullied by the bruins who had canadians like marchand, lucic and bergeron
@@Nickh4929 Not just Canadian grinders, they need a Canadian leader, like Sakic, Yzerman, Crosby
Like the Detroit red wings with with all those Russians and Swedes
@@moocat11 Yeah with Yzerman leading them
What if JT is just not enjoying hockey anymore and is considering retirement after the 4 Nations. A change of scenery might be nice for the player, but he has a no trade because he loves his family in Vancouver. His life is enjoyable outside of his job and he doesn't have a shortage of money. Think of the person and not just the team. That's quite possibly what the mental health leave was about. He has family and life to think about that is a higher priority than hockey. I would totally respect his decision if he chooses to retire and focus on family. He wouldn't be the first top player to make those heavy decisions. Even another leave and LTIR might be the best decision. He hasn't gotten a lot of compassion from his first leave for personal reasons and it wasn't very long. A perfect example would be Patrick Laine taking a leave after clearly not enjoying playing hockey. Give the guy some time. LTIR and let him return when ready, trade for a prospect as Columbus did with Laine if it's not going to work long term. Just give the guy some time to figure out his life. Don't expect a lot in return. It's a contract dump if best case scenario in Vancouver isn't going to work. Do what's best for the person. Columbus and Montreal did it for Laine. It's his mental health. And it's a risk for the team picking him up.
Yeah reading the situation, almost 100% the leave was instituted by the team and it was not JT's choice. It's speculation based off his return where he explicitly did not thank the team for supporting him during the leave. We'll never know for sure but him being asked to take leave of absence to manage anger issues would be the most consistent story with his attitude history, shouting and scolding teammates, cross-checking Petterson in practice, etc. He's also unwilling to accept he has anger issues and pouts because he's angry at the forced intervention.
The public opinion would have likely been far more supportive, but there was ZERO insight provided with respect to what was up and he clearly had not gotten back to a good place before he returned. He either made a poor decision himself or the guidance he was given was a long way off target, but any way you slice it the public interface was handled VERY BADLY!
JT...all you have to do is grow up and be a man, not just the alpha act of one
Didn’t Allvin say that about Petey? Apparently we have two cry babies in the room
100 percent. Trade him right ducking now
Did any team that won the Stanley Cup not go through player problems? None . Keep your core and build from the bottom up. They need 3 additions A good Defense man. They need a healthy Joshua. They need a goal scoring third or fourth liner. I.E Brock Nelsen
The Oaks are just too lofty and they grab up all the light #freebrannstrom
The goal song should be "Baby What A Big Surprise" by Chicago
So, how many coaches need to be fired because the players are not playing up to their abilities. Keep the coach and move Miller, Pete, Boeser, Demko get great returns and move forward
