The way this Canucks management team managed to already add Lankinen and Brannstrom to address needs early in the season, gives me confidence of them doing a good job navigating the latest crisis. The problem with trading Hoglander for a defenceman right now is that the Canucks have done a bad job this season marketing him for the purposes of shopping him around and would be lucky to get the equivalent of a 4th round draft pick for him. Even if he was playing well, you'd need to add a lot more to get a top four defenceman.

The ONLY thing automatic is an ejection IF a boarding major is called and ther eis an injury. hOWEVER, the decision to call it a minor or major is NOT automatic (you and other mediaq and fans KEPP gettign this WRONG) the ref has FULL power too decide if the violence is enough to be a major OR MInor. The ref then in this case COULS and SHOULD have switched the call to a minor based on Hughes NOT usinng much iolence. ALL despite an injury. The rulebook is very clear the ref had full power to do this. ONCE again the only automatic is once the ref has DECIDED there was enough violence to be a major AND THEN the player is injured THEN its is an automatic ejection. THERE is NO automatic MAJOR. Please get this straight Matt. You can reach out to B Batchelor a ref himself in minor who has also made this point on twitter. Regards

Totally agree with Frank, when they're on the road, they only have the road games to focus on, but when they're at home, they have lots of distractions. I truly think that's why this group does good on the road, and crap at home. It's especially true when they have long road trips, since there's a lot of other things to deal with when they're home that have been piling up while they're away.
