It’s very important to note the exact plumbing and connections for your external wastegate to your electronic boost controller (ebcs) if you are taking out your engine . If plumbed incorrectly it’s very possible that your car could overboost and cause possible damage to the engine over an extended period of time.

Sounds like 3rd->4th gear synchro is grinding pretty bad.
@@nfancioni yeah I’m not used to the STI trans grinding. There is cocktail fluid that can help fix.
@@NovichenkoWhips Yeah, tell him to drain and fill with 50/50 Motul 300 and Redline Lightweight Shockproof gear oil asap before it blows. Fixed my buddy’s WRX 5Spd 3rd gear synchro grind like a charm

The plastic drain plug is reusable. Its purpose was to be a tool-less solution to the standard drain plug.
@@TheSoldier372 that’s interesting. I heard everyone online saying to replace it with every oil change. 🤷🏻♂️ overall I like the new solution I have.
The old one says 525 which is 52.5" long. The new one is 53" long(or 1345 mm) as shown on the wrapper box.
@@stephenperrone8694 yeah I noticed it’s a little longer. I’ve monitored the boost levels and they’re the same. I just see that the tensioner now since a little bit bit lower than before.
Does any of this void warranty?
@@mqrkoh I would hope not.. you’re not touching the engine controller at all.. but I do have a tune on my truck for that already..

What were those two connectors to hook up to the green connectors on the drivers’ side? TIA!
@@adrianstoica1743 the green connectors are a jumper connection needed to get into dyno mode. This allows ecu reading and flashing. Cant really drive with those connected.

@@sl1nn the stock power was OK. I did not like how the factory transmission tune kept trying to get the truck in the highest gear possible all the time. That made me feel like I was lugging it. With the cobb tunes there is some power added, but the biggest difference I felt was the transmission tune kept the gear selection better so when you get on throttle, the truck is not around 1k rpm but around 2k or higher. Overall I have towed trailers and project cars with it and it feels like plenty of power.

notice the massive amount of oil near your supercharger pulley lol thats no bueno
if i had to guess id say thats supercharger oil from when you did the service theres a breather port there and when you overfill thats what happens usually from my understanding at least youd be able to tell from the smell of the oil itself
not sure how the breather itself works like if it will just leak out untill its enough in there or if the excess fluid blows the check valve out and all your oil comes out after but might be worth looking into as if you have no oil in there that thing will grenade pretty quick but its why i recommended checking out AMGmeister video on this process as he details it all a bit further
@@xxkai45xx48 yeah it may have been overfilled a bit, up to the fill hole. The rear oil pan is leaky on the m113k, needs a gasket overhaul..
@@NovichenkoWhips it may have indeed as for the oil leaks most of the time its not the oil pan the dipstick tube o ring going into the block appears to be leaking on this one worth cleaning it and narrowing it down if its bad but usually they all drip a bit thats no biggie but the overfilled supercharger thing might be a problem im unsure its above my knowledge when i serviced the car pulled 120ml out put 150ml in and it seems fine

I’m not sure how that could work connected like that. I believe it would have to go in series in between the battery power and the car CPU or black box to protect from an EMP. I could be wrong but just connecting it in parallel I’m not sure it would do anything really.
@@Grifterbiden yeah I’ve actually had one burn out on me and the company sent me a replacement, but there’s not much information online about how much protection they actually provide..
just spend the 12 bucks for a year. support the devs! also, get the recommended cable. it just works. yea its a bit more $$, but notice in the console messages the cable he is using isnt even recommended

it just happened two days after swapping the belt out to a fleet runner hd the inside rubber on the sc ring chewed itself up and spit rubber everywhere and within two days and less then hundred kms the pulley came apart at 178k kms
Was wondering if maybe you still have that tool you used to hold your crank and if youd be willing to part ways with it ?!
@@xxkai45xx48 I have the tool I was intending to keep it. another way to take off the front pulley bolt is to lock up the torque converter underneath the car.
I need to do this! I got tuned but I think the MAF was failing/drity, I can't replace the MAF now because it causes misfires during boost and the old MAF has failed even more to the point where it's running super rich 9.7 under WOT. I have a tactrix cable, will definitely try that with a new MAF.
@@elitescouter yeah possibly the MAF was reading incorrectly definitely needs to be re-scaled in the tune

He put the wrong vacuum line from the boost controller to the watergate they just swapped the lines around

I assume the loud whine is because of the open cone filter. I like the whine that the cone filter provides but others have mentioned that there is noticeable power loss in the top end compared to the stock air intake system. Would you agree?
@@_GrindMode_ I honestly feel like with the mostly open intake/throttlebody the power is more on the top end and also much more responsive to throttle input. I think I prefer full intake for daily driving.
@@NovichenkoWhips Wow, I've been debating weather or not to go with a cone filter because I barely hear any whine from the stock intake system but the power loss claim has been holding me back. Glad to hear that it's false. Thanks for the input!
@ the power loss is possible if your cone starts to suck in only hot air. I recommend route your factory ducting without filters in the boxes to keep cold air coming towards the intake..

Did u ended up finding whats causing the lean hiccup issue? Im thinking of buying my 2nd e55 BUT its got some issue as well at normal driving at 60-70mph where it goes to limp mode. Seller said it may be the vrp throttle-body.

i’ve been wanting a e55 for a long time now but i’ve been waiting for a good mileage (Around 80-90k). but they are pretty expensive right now. i’ve noticed though the cls55 is more on the cheaper side with the same engine. i’m not sure which to go for i love the look of the e55.

Those rear arms have a bad reputation for being low quality... I'd strongly suggest replacing for factory components. Either way, the suspension rubber and other bushings are all almost 20 years old at this point and should be replaced as you can.
