Goldrop “Miner” is proving its worth!

    Hobby vs Small Scale Miner (SSM)? 50 lbs of crushed and sieved sand/7 minutes = 8.5 units/hr = 425 lbs/hr x 8 hrs = 3,400 lbs/day Might a new Goldrop MINER model(s) for the SSM be in development with a production target of more than double or triple near 10,000 lbs or 5 tons/day? Be sure your MBMM equipment can jaw crush, hammer mill, sieve, shaker table and/or Goldrop Miner concentrate to balance a production line. Recovery at a fraction of a gram of tiny gold particles from a 50 pound bag looks promising enough to run a multiple ton bulk ore production trial and create a cooperative MBMM and Sluice Goose equipment video. If the alternative to gravity concentration is chemical leaching without the cost and handling of chemicals then gravity could be very attractive for a SSM Coop be it a MBMM processing line with shaker table and/or Goldrop Miner concentrators. Would SSMs please step forward with ore to run? Kind regards...

    Your essentially letting gravity do the work, by using a vortex with the water it makes the lighter particulates of dirt and sand float and the heavier gold sinks. Cool

    • @sluicegoosegoldrop2821
      @sluicegoosegoldrop2821 8 дней назад

      You got it! Gravity is the mover in this system. Gravity feeds the pay dirt through Goldrop being in a fluidized environment. Wet pay dirt is washed into the trap at a higher elivation than the discharge of the tailings. The incoming pay dirt washes down the funnel displacing the tailings in the trap goosing the tailings up and out the lower elevation of the discharge. Gravity too controls the drop of the dense matter into the jar controlled by the vertical flow of the elutriation water. More dense matter that does not drop into the jar remains in the trap too while the less dense tailings head up and out into the tailings bucket suspended by the spinning action of the paddle and forced out by incoming pay dirt.

      @1kreature 10 дней назад

      @@sluicegoosegoldrop2821 I have not finished building mine yet and for me the hard part is controlling the flow for each of the classified material streams. My goal is to allow a single stream in that is classified into multiple streams that are then separated by the counterflow. Works great for single setups with classified material but I am thinking that for a mixed stream with preclassification built in I need to let the material drop into holding hoppers while staying submerged and somehow feed the final stages from those. For controlling the flow a simple gravity system should work where either the height of the feeds of water vary or the reservoir is fixed with control on the flow via constriction. Since the goal is a fixed velocity of the water in each case it needs a controlled metering of material to avoid influencing flow too much from overfeeding.

    • @1kreature
      @1kreature 10 дней назад

      Oh, and by less complex I mostly mean the vortex motor and the pre-removal of magnetite. As long as the classification is tight enough the separation should be very clean even with the magnetite in the stream. The hard part will also be to make a nice and easy way to remove the finished product. I don't really see any way to avoid the batch processing same as the original Gold Drop and this new vortex version. The output naturally ends up at lowest point and the water above means one always has this head of water over it. I guess my only idea for extracting without having to unscrew a collector would be some sort of tube allowing the content to be sucked up externally?

    • @sluicegoosegoldrop2821
      @sluicegoosegoldrop2821 10 дней назад

      @@1kreature The magnetite is not removed. I use the SpinItOff merely to show how much magnetite is in the sand. Magnetite is just a heavier matter, 5g/cm3, containing iron and acts like any mineral in the water flow that is less dense than gold, 19.3g/cm3. Prior to the Vortex Spinner I used the water mixing valves to disturb trap to get the action in the trap contributing to flushing out gold and used the Magnet Sluice filled with magnetite to snag the loss in the discharge. Innovating the Vortex Spinner and eliminated the water mixing and flushing out gold, enabling more and smaller gold to drop into the jar and retain this high-grade gold concentrate and microscopic gold in the trap, ruclips.net/video/49MNWIG6FWw/видео.html. I completed working on the scaled version of the Goldrop Vortex Spinner now to handle 400-500 lbs. per hour of 1/8"- with the same performance. A test run of 3 50lb bags of Quikrete All Purpose sand has extracted the same high-grade gold concentrate as seen in the video. I'll be producing a video soon of its use when finished modifying the prototype. Keep working on your invention. I would love to see it progress to success!

      @@sluicegoosegoldrop2821 Ahh, I was confused by the magnet at the start. So it was just to demonstrate how much was in it :) Gotcha! I understand what you are doing though, and it is very effective for a mixed stream like that. I am just too focused on recovery I guess. I did the classification in multiple steps on my little foldable river sluice where I used multiple stages of vortexes molded in silicone and I got really good recovery by making sure the smaller pockets were not disturbed by larger particles/gravel. I realize now I never filmed a finished closeup video of the sluice. I should do that. I did film a video where a buddy is running the sluice with unclassified materials though: ruclips.net/video/frv2Bl3FGwo/видео.html The area has a wide distribution of particle sizes from very fine gold up to 5mm pickers making me design the sluice for the entire range.

A 6' trap is next with large capacity but nothing available now other than the 2" Goldrop Vortex Spinner. I have experimented with Goldrop in a dredging senario. Howdy Johan, since innovating the current Goldrop model with the Vortex Spinner, which is what you have, the Magnet Sluice has been discontinued because it is no longer needed. Using water to mix the trap contents is now accomplished by the Vortex Spinner. This has reduced water flowing through Goldrop retaining the flour gold in the trap and not washing it out into the tailings. To operate the Goldrop Vortex Spinner with sand, set the drop water flow to .2 GPM with a trickle of water to wash dirt into the trap. With the dirt fluidized in the trap. the dirt added into the funnel will displace dirt in the trap pushing it vertically up the trap column and out to the tailings. The reduced use of water with the Vortex Spinner allows for more and smaller gold to drop into the jar and remain in the trap. Processing 1/8"- will require the upper mixing water valve to be 1/2 open or so to help fluidize the larger matter. As I experiment with new ideas and improve performance, Goldrop will continue to evolve.

    Very nice refinement to an already amazing system. Does the vortex spinner addition decrease processing time or is it just more efficient for separation?

      Yes, it increases the feed rate of material added as well and efficiency to extract smaller gold.

    My physics brain is somewhat stymied… at what point does the H2O become super-saturated with material and begin to drop down through the gold tube?

    • @sluicegoosegoldrop2821
      @sluicegoosegoldrop2821 2 месяца назад

      The vertical flow of the elutriation water is set at different rates of flow to suspend matter of different size and density depending on the what is being observed in the drop tube. As the vertical flow of water is reduced allows the dense matter in the trap to descend down the drop tube influenced by the reduction of water flow.

    Wow John, it just gets better and better. With that kind of recovery, it would be worth a trip up there. Here in Utah, we have a lot of gold in the gravel pits which is used in construction, roads etc. so with all that loose sand flying around, we are finding gold in the gutters, large parking lots, gravel on the sides of roads, etc. the gold is usually in the very small range. I would love to see how your unit works on that type of material. ,

    • @sluicegoosegoldrop2821
      @sluicegoosegoldrop2821 2 месяца назад

      The Vortex Spinner made Goldrop so much more efficient not having to use water to stir the trap, the Magnet sluice is no longer needed. The paddle provides lift in the spin as well as creating a vortex. This mechanical lift eliminated the injection of water to mix the trap reducing the water flow blowing out the gold. At the same time, the funnel water is reduced using less water to wash the dirt down the feed tube. So much less water flowing through Goldrop keeps the gold and other dense matter in the trap or drops into the jar. I have now achieved what my original consept entailed. the dirt is fluidized enough to allow the incoming dirt at a higher level to displace the dirt in the trap to be goosed up and out gently leaving the dense matter, gold, silver, platinum, palladium, rhodium, mercury lead, copper and others behind in the trap or jar.

      John in the future, could you go over your tailings again to make sure that mixer is working properly and you have no gold exiting I am skeptical that the gold has escaped. Please show a demonstration of running your tailings again to convince me and your audience. Thank you.

      @@bigmark1957 That is standard proceedure. There is no skepticism about missing gold! All the gold is not extracted the first go-around. I classify the tailings to 50 mesh and process the classified tailings back through Goldrop Vortex Spinner using less water to extract the very fine flour gold from the smaller class tailings that is not extracted from the 1/8"- pay dirt from the first process. Not much there to make a video of. The tiny flour gold particles end up as white specs not recognizable as gold when videoed or photographed which raises skepticism as well about what is being seen.

      @@bigmark1957 No need! Standard proceedure is to classify tailings smaller and run the classified tailings back through Goldrop to extract the flour gold still in the tailings. Normally I classify to -6, --35 and -100 and process each class to get the gold out. Smaller matter requires less waterflow for separation. The Golden rule is with matter of equal size, dense gold will drop out while the less dense matter stays aloft in the elutriation process.
