    I saw that movie SO many times when I was young. Led to me spending a lot of time at a local college rollerblading the sidewalks, streets, etc. There was a time I was going down this one very steep road next to the college and a wheel fell off. I just adjusted my weight and kept going. A movie probably responsible for the fact that I became kind of an adrenaline junky. Skydiving, jumping off random bridges in Ukraine, etc.

    I always wonder if this movie was supposed to be a remake/retelling of War of the worlds. They have the alien invasion basically being solved by a "virus" after all conventional means have failed.

    One of the greatest sequels ever made and a classic 90s comedy. Infinitely quotable. "TWO legs?" "...they had sex." "Of course...he vomited." "Hook em, book em, cook em...NOW!" "Your work is puerile and under-dramatized. You lack any sense of structure, character, or the Aristotelian unities..." "Are you enjoying this? To think...a child of mine. Oh, no...he lives..." "...a little time in the harmony hut..."

    This was lovely to watch. Was so nice to see Shane after all these years and listen to his stories. Great stuff!! 31 years tho...jeez! I live in the UK and not many people know this film. I came across it on tv when I was a kid and loved it ever since, even have the dvd. I was 8 in 1993 ❤ so it's weird thinking how old everyone else is now.

  • @YetiVlogs
    @YetiVlogs 19 дней назад

    And many time sin this episode Mike said "That's now how that works" about an alien invasion action movie with Will Smith in the lead. That should be explanation enough about the fantastical nature of the situation, but if you really need real world parallels... there are none. Up down left right, speed up, slow down, and all as part of a seriously advanced culture. We are nearing driverless as a standard here. Why would you assume their crqazy advanced race would have difficult to control spacecraft? The mother ship is shitting out 15 milers for F sakes.

  • @YetiVlogs
    @YetiVlogs 19 дней назад

    A light year is how far you travel in one year at the speed of light. The nearest assumed habitable planet that we know of is 24.81 trillion miles away (4.22 light years). In 6 months you could cover 2.94 trillion miles. All of this assuming light speed travel is possible and wormhole tech isnt real yet.

  • @YetiVlogs
    @YetiVlogs 19 дней назад

    Old tech attaching to a new network would just trigger a firmware update. And 2 way communication is assured because the old tech has to signal the new network that the patch is done and it is ready to participate in standard network activities.

  • @YetiVlogs
    @YetiVlogs 19 дней назад

    Waveform communication is how we arrived at the technologies we cling to... in nature. Yes the concept is ludicrous but so is the entire movie based on what we have experienced so far. We assume their race is a bunch of fuck ups that require locked networks and heavy security, because we are projecting. They may be a very efficient drone like culture. Assume we are the first advanced civilization they have discovered. So they don't have malicious scans and such. I;m sure the next advanced planet their species encounters will have a much harder time after they complete their Stop Malicious Software project on their home planet.
