I came to the town of Grahovo, Montenegro to explore its rich history and find a spomenik. How this City Survived Four Years of Siege 🇧🇦
Просмотров 3,9 тыс.2 месяца назад
The Siege of Sarajevo, which began in April, 1992 would last almost 4 years, leaving over 11,000 residents of the city dead and even more wounded. During these four years, it was almost impossible to get food, supplies, weapons and people in and out of the city to the free Bosnian territory, and so a tunnel was dug under the Sarajevo airport. As a Bosnian I knew this sort of, but didn't go that detailed into it as I was Sarajevo as a kid, some time ago. That road and square is a division scar - as Sarajevo was the "ethnic epicenter" of Yugoslavia. All socalled "nations" were present, with a lot of mixed marriages.

Bulgaria was never part of Yugoslavia, cause we were the dominant power on the Balkans while Serbia was always a smaller state and it is humiliating for us to be in such unequal u in,even the Serbs demanded we to close our foreign ministry and to leave the foreign affairs to them😂😂😂😂,when Bulgaria had ports on three seas (aegean, adriatic and the black sea)in the 9th century Serbia was conquered by our tzar and was always smaller and insignificant state .....our territory was 750 000 sq km or almost all the Balkans several times ,later we lost some we took back some ,until the Turks put an end of our constant feuds with Serbia wich continued In the 19th and 20th century

Nice! 🙂 3:50 my grandmother used to live in one of the highrises back there in the Skenderija during the 80s, we visited her several times every year. A month ago, we all came together in Sarajevo for her funeral, she had died in 2021 in New Zealand aged 101. She had been a Partisan medic in WWII and a head doctor in a military hospital with the rank of colonel in the Yugoslav army. I remember the Skenderija center from my childhood, there were Yugoslav basketball games, also strange shows for kids - for example a Smurf-themed one... I even have a Super 8 film of me in Sarajevo from that era: ruclips.net/video/FIZAdv-EW7w/видео.html 9:30 in the vicinity for example in Sofia they are close together (at least 3), also I have been to Asmara, Eritrea, where you also find all four mentioned in one view. Cheers from Vienna! (sorry for the laptop) ;-)
