My father worked for GE in Utica for over 35 years and probably knew your grandfather. A lot has changed in Utica. Utica used to have some of the best Italian and Polish food. The Utica area still has awesome pizza. For the past 14 years in Wisconsin, I have had people recommend "the best pizza." I've tried them all, and central NY is still. better.
Born and raised in Rome. Haven't lived up there in years, but when I go back, I eat everything I don't get anywhere else. I was literally looking at Utica food videos a couple of days ago, which would explain why I'm seeing this video. I actually used to eat at Joel's.

There are others as well. The most popular one was Europa, but it closed a few years back when the owner moved away. But just this year one of the workers from Europa opened up a place in the boys & girls club in east Utica, serving the famous chicken sendvić, among other things

Cevapcici is just a diminutive of Cevapi.

Is this the only Bosnian restaurant in Utica? I ate at a Bosnian restaurant in Utica about a decade ago. There was a horse shoe bar I sat at.
