Nice hunting ...Nice hunts....do me a favor, I know in the heat of the moment, things happen...but, please get you some ear plugs. I have a few pair. I mainly like the string connected ones, that way , I can let one just hang down until I get action in my area. Gotta try to save that hearing as much as possible. Good shooting.....

What to watch for before you get it: Bought one Sat at Cabela's...$527 with discounts, Tuesday deal, Club Member, etc. Was watching another U Tube video Sat night and realized I had the same problem. If you buy one, not online and shipped, check to see if the scuppers below the seat are flat, not with a molehill slope up to the hole. It is hard to tell but when I had it flat and poured a pitcher of water in the seat well area the water would not drain fully. There is a molded in crease/slope several inches behind the scuppers going across the seat area width and that is ok. The raised scuppers below the seat is a defect that sometimes/oftentimes occurs when they release it from the mold. It should feel flat like the aft compartment scuppers. I took it back on Sun to Cabela's and they swapped it out no problem, just a little paperwork at customer service. For some reason they said they owed me $14.xx so they paid me that which made it roughly $513. Now, will spend a few hundred more on a paddle, anchor trolly, and raise the seat, etc. lol Also, the screws for the handles and bungee hold downs need backed off and clear silicone applied or water will leak in.

After some time with your Xi3, what are your thoughts on it? Has is held up to your expectations or has some time and experience with it over time proved otherwise? I'm thinking of getting an Xi3 for my own Ascend 12T, but have seen mixed reviews in regards to the remote not working as advertised. Additionally, have you used the Xi3 in any type of salt water? I plan to be able to fish in both fresh water and brackish water. They have a saltwater version of the Xi3, but figured I'd see how the freshwater holds up before spending the extra cash on the saltwater version. Thanks!

When you are building a spiral guide rod and you spine your blank before setting your tip top do you set it spine up or spine down for conventional reel. For spinning reel?

The primary aim of spiral guides is to eliminate sides roll fatigue, whereas line touching the blank are secondary. It's more obvious in big game fishing.

All my Salmon rods are spiral wrapped on NFC blanks, so good!
