Very well played! Thanks for sharing it. I take it that whoever compiled the Jane Pickering's lute book did not have a title for it. (?) I came across it about three years ago while collecting pieces for a guitar easy anthology book. That version was in A major which corresponds to your "C" first section, and although very easy, the cadence in the relative minor in the second bar made it a little tricky. It does not have the higher position that is included in your performance, but it was titled as "A Scots Tune" which is a title of sorts, giving it a geography rather than a name. I do not know if this "Scots Tune" title was given to it later or earlier than 1616, the date of the J Pickering book. Still a bit confused. 🙂
Awesome!!
Here we are again.... this is so so good....bella Venezia!
Whenever I feel miserable, I play this little video and immediately my spirits are lifted. One tiny instrument gives so much music.
You'r so good! And your instrument is a hight quality one.
Hello Elizabeth. thank you very much for the lessons they have made my life alot happier. However im having trouble choosing strings. Can you please tell me which strings you use and where to get them from. That would make my life not so tragic. Hope you can help. Thanks Rafael.
Amazing iberic sound of early times❤❤
Hi there. May I please ask a question. Im having trouble with which strings to use. There are so many options. Any chance you could tell what strings you use and where i can get them. Hope you can help. Thanks Rafael.
Very well played, what a lovely rendition on lute this is. Merry belated Christmas :)
What a beautiful moment. Thank you so much.
Preciosa musica
Sounds a lot like Saltarello, by Vincente Galileo.
🎼👏👏👏👏🎼
It sounds good and also the ornaments are tasteful. Thank you. This are my nos. 7-12 ruclips.net/video/_8l4izwZhy0/видео.html
Excellent, bravo
I am learning this work on the guitar and found your post very interesting! It's a beautiful and fun piece of music and you rightly show how many interpretations and variations can be found across the repertoire. Its is easy to get the wrong impression that much renaissance and baroque music was rigidly composed, rather than being a living and evolving creation. Thanks for your post.
Great
Is can convert ouds to lute guitar ?❤ Shigemitsu to Liz…
Thank you
Auguro a tutti noi che il tuo progetto su Dowland possa volare alto e andare lontano. Ci ha lasciato musica meravigliosa. A te a ai tuoi cari... tantissimi auguri! ❤

ITS Not Xmas ITS Christmas
@ The "X" in "Xmas" comes from the Greek letter chi, which is the first letter of the Greek word Christós.
@DebbieBarrette WHO Cares It's called Christmas or are you Greek?
Thank you Debbie as always! 💕 I know!!! It was extremely tricky! 🥴 Have a wonderful Christmas! 🎄 Thank you for all your kind words and support for Luteweb! ✨

That was great! I need to get mine out of my giant closet....
Do it!! Don't delay!! Let me know how you get on! Have a wonderful Christmas! 💕
The 60 Seconds warm up has been an excellent resource for focus, honing tone and right and left hand technique. It was given me a regular starting place with each practice session.
Thank you so much for your kind words Tony! Great to hear the studies are working for you! Have a wonderful Christmas and thank you for supporting Luteweb! It means so much! 💕
Beautiful and lively!
Thank you so much for listening! 💕
This is a very welcome warm-up and extremely helpful in getting the right hand used to the thumb inside tradition, which is tricky for classical guitar players to adopt for the lute. I use them every day and find the 60 seconds duration make them very approachable and highly effective - Thank you
Thanks you so much for sharing this! I'm so glad the studies are working for you! have a wonderful Christmas and keep in touch and let me know how you're getting on! 🎄💕
I bought a copy of the 60 Seconds Warm-Up exercises a couple of weeks ago and have been using it regularly. I usually play a couple of exercises for the right hand, a couple for the left hand and one or two from the last section. I take my time doing this but that’s OK. I’m enjoying the process and it’s helping me. The chords are easier to hit and the melodies are popping out in a way they never did! Elizabeth, thank you for putting this material together. I really like the way it’s organized with the sections, comments and videos. It’s clear you put a lot of thought into creating this and I’ll be using it for a long time.
Brilliant!! This has made my day! Thanks you for sharing this James! 💕

Gosh! Thank you so much for this James! It's really great for me to hear that folks are reaping the benefits and are enjoying the process! Have a wonderful Christmas! 🎄💕
These structured exercises are the perfect warm-up! I love the structured progression. Have only been doing them for a week and already see a difference in my playing!
That is brilliant to hear John! ✨ Have a wonderful Christmas and I'm looking forward to seeing you in the new year! 🎄💕
These are great exercises! They really target many of the issues that are problematic for the lute. These are much needed and much welcome.
Thank you for this Jack! So glad the studies are providing a solid framework! Have a wonderful Christmas and I'm looking forward to seeing you in the new year! 💕
