Here was I guessing that an English Huntsuppe was some sort of celebratory feast after the game birds were caught and shared out. Now we know better thanks to your fascinating historical insight. We all love this series - really motivating. Good to see you like to display some of your beautiful instruments rather than have them hidden away in cases. Do your lutes have cedar or spruce tops - they seem to have a lovely patina?

Hi David! Thanks for your kind words. I'm so pleased you liked the video, thank you for watching! The lute in this video is a beautiful instrument by David Van Edwards. It is in fact very special as it's my very first lute! 💕 The wood is yew.

What a great video!! I love all the context and historical information you provide. Where did you find the 17th century cittern version?

Hi, thanks for watching. 💕 The cittern piece is from John Playford's - 1666 publication of Musick's Delight on the Cittern.

i am flustered! uhmm.. no offense, but are the cittern and lute just very large or are you rather a short person? (just trying to get a sense of scale, to compare them with my own instruments) also: i think there should be more renaissance cittern videos, because its shreddable, loud and makes the perfect companion for drinking songs. love your channel, keep up the good work!

Mmmmm interesting comment! 🧐 I think I'm normal sized... nobody has mentioned anything...you've got me thinking now! 🤣 I'm going to be making a cittern video soon...and a gittern one too! 🤓 Glad you like the channel! ✨
