Always so happy to see Jack Blade enter my feed! I know I am going to learn something new. Thank you Jack!
Forget all the production planners, I need a floor plan designer.
You are in luck then, it's the next video I drop, coming out 00:00 CET, a guide on how you can plan layouts
I've been using the Modeler for a bit as well, and it's mostly great. Sometimes it does wonky stuff like changing the amount of output randomly with no apparent reason, or not showing it at all like what happened in your video. What would really like for them to add is the max belt Mk setting alongside default miners, nodes and stuff - maybe it would then split inputs and outputs into actual belts automatically, so you don't have to do what you've shown with copying nodes
Yea, would be nice to at least have a visual indicator showing what amount of belts would be needed from a chose mk of belts. I also noticed a ton of lag once you start going big with a single outpost so there are obviously optimisation and performance stuff to take into account as well
Haven't learned how to use everything yet about this program, but it's a great tool to use. I use mine little differently like how robertosecco983 said in their comment. I start with the very end first let's say Motors then to it's right it i dumped 10 motors per minute into an Awesome sink then work backwards from there until i get to the raw resources or leave it blank since i'm transporting a prebuilt item from outside and leave everything empty. Since it's looking at 10 motors per minute the entire tree updates to show me exactly how many resources and machines i need to make for those 10 motors i want to build.
yea, thats how I would normally use it as well, I went the other direction because I showed a starter factory instead ^^
Hey, i know this has nothing to do with the modeler, but i wanted to ask if anyone knows a program that lets me edit saves. I love the save editor from SCIM but as soon as you start to a bit of a progressed save it just starts taking multiple minutes to process one action. Would love to have a save editor standalone that lets me use my pcs power to edit it rather than a server :)
I would love to have that as well XD
I still prefer satisfactory tools as this is too much effort for similar results
as long as you have fun while playing, nothing wrong with using whatever tools, mods and whatever else ^^
Congratulation for the new studio! I just found the Modeler and I really like it. I am using it a little differently: I start with the end production then, if you right-click on each element required it gives you a list of the available recipes. When you select the recipe, it adds a new production node on the left (and automatically connects it). So, I work backwards until I reach an raw element or something that I already produce.
Thank you! And generally, when I do factories I do the same. I did it the other way around because normally that's what the vast majority of players do when starting out, and I didnt want to showcase a factory that was so advanced newer players can't relate back to their game experience ^^
Yeah, I had to watch a few dozen YT videos about Satisfactory before someone even _mentioned_ Satisfactory Modeler. I find it significantly more user friendly than Satisfactorytools for planning a factory.
oh yea, 100% and it also allows wonky buildsa and stuff, so I can do complex oil refinery loops and so on without the builder messing it up
you deserve more subs, i love your satisfactory content!
thank you! I always try to improve :P
Thank you so much for this bro. I've been using the online calculators here and there, but I've always felt like they were kind of like cheating. This will allow me to play on my own factory and figure it out on my own too.
YES, that is so true, you still need to plan the factory, you still need to understand the logistics and so on, you dont just get spoon fed a solution
I've been using Satisfactory Modeler since it released and I'm quite happy with the constant updates. That said, I see things here in your UI that I do not have in mine and that I can't seem to figure how to get, namely the whole panel you have to the left side. How do I get that to show up? (I might ask in the Modeler Discord later also)
In the bottom left hand corner there is a book like looking icon and you can click on that to open up the menu on the left.
@@alanramsey2826 Thank you! This awesome tool just became even better (for me)!
""EMERGENCY"" blueprints. Usually an assembler. 2 containers for inputs. 1 container for the output. I have several "Emergency" blueprints for items like Encased Steel Beams, AI Limiters, Reinforced Iron Plate, and Rotors. In the case for my "Emergency Rotors" it needs Rods and Screws (which are made from Rods). So I have a container that I dump in as many Rods as I can, and it splits to a constructor to make Screws and to the assembler to make Rotors.... I end up using this one a lot.
That is really smart :P I should also have some of those
ay lets goo! love it
haha! Yes! and not only that, I am scripting the next three videos for Satisfactory right now ^^
@@jackblade281 cant wait!
First video is going live tonight :P
So two things I've learned. 1: Make a blueprint for each resource to process an output of about 800. Then just divide the actual output of the extraction by number of machines you have and under clock. Easier on your power grid early game and in late game you never have to scale up as you unlock better extraction. And by the time you need to scale up you are setup to over clock without issue. 2: with the exception of concrete, don't build dedicated factories for basic components. Just have overflow set up so that when the final product storage is full, it will trickle back through the chain until all your storage is full. There is no need for factories to be running 100% of the time. I've never understood that mindset for products that don't create by-product, or that don't feed to sink to farm tickets. Burst supply also allows you to get away with a smaller power production setup. With the use of priority switches and batteries, I'm getting away with a power plant generating less than 50% of my max consumption.
Great addition to the bastion of smart factory knowledge this comment section has become ^^
Best ski/sledding hill challenge? 🏔️🌲☃️
oooh, that would be cool!!
jack blade are you dippin brother or you need some water :D
nah nah, but I really want to play PoE2 as well, so I will stream it, but because we are moving right now I havent had time or energy to record a satisfactory video, should be back to normal sometime next week
@@jackblade281 Have fun moving. Hope you get there well. Id love to watch the POE stuff too!
@@BabyJeus Well I will stream it tonight ^^
dude do u know where the option is to turn off fismas? cant find the option n the prezzies are doing my head in
In Gameplay Options in the main menu, you cant disable it inside a loaded save, it has to be from the main menu, check the box to Disable Seasonal Events
First off, thank you for the clear tutorial. Second, if I can produce 2X the amount of power for the same coal, AND I can swap it out for Biofuel (From Refined Farming), then I can get power almost for free. WOW! I wish we could do something more with the used steam like cool it back into water like Captain of Industry.
iirc it is something you can do later, you have coolaing platforms and stuff so you can create fusion power and all that stuff, this is just super early on, this is the refined Power mods version of coal power
alright, this made me realize that my current drone setup is highly ineffective xD I just really struggle with deciding which vehicle to use for distances like 500 meters as I want to avoid pulling belts along between 2 or more factories
yea, but its ok, as long as you are having fun, and it works, go for it!
Swung by this video about three months after it was posted, made me happy to see that you now have 2.16k subs, when at the time that you posted you were shooting to pass 500.
Yea, its insane! every morning I wake up I have to double check that I haven't been in a coma dream for the last few months 😂
Also, love your name :P
@@jackblade281 Thanks man, not many people recognize anymore.
@@lewstherin1745 WoT will always be the GOAT fantasy book series to me :P
Great desgins mate. especially the last set of belt ones. I agree with what you said about using belts on the front of a factory to show what is in it, rather than just having a sign. The add bouns to doing this is that you can also easily check the factory is running properly without having to go in and check the machines ie if you see one of the belts outside is empty, you know there is an issue in that factory and if your organized about your layouts, you should also be able to tell where it is as well.
Exactly! The video coming out tonight is going to be a real doozy too :P
Those are genuinely good life lessons my friend! Appreciate it. It’s good to realize that games like this can be hard and that tot feeling not up to it is totally fine for that moment. You can come back at any time, whenever you want
Exactly! I don't get the rush and I don't get the feeling of obligation towards a hobby of any kind, it's not a job, you can change and change back whenever you want
Top tips 👍
Thank you!
Am I correct with my math? Drones can carry 18 Stacks of items. So for an item that stacks up to 100, it can carry 1800 items per flight. With minimum 2min flights, their throughput is 1800items/2min=900 items/min so i'll need 1.33 Droneports per MK6 Belt. And to be on the save side its best to use 1.5 droneports per belt.
yea, but thats with almost minimum flight time, if the round trip is 5 min instead the throughput speed of a drone port goes down to 1800/5=360 meaning you need 3.333 recurring drone ports for a MK6 belt
however, with my setup I can supplement the belt after the first 3 ports with a merger, bringing in more, so it is adaptable and expandable, it might be useful to be able to sitch off what you dont need though
@@jackblade281 Yeah that's what i thought. It's roughly how i calculate my train throughput. thank you.
@@amengar2407 no problem!
You are amazing! You definitely succeeded in inspiring me! Even the simple things like the power poles to organize various factory networks and stuff is so smart
hahaha! That means I have succeeded with the video
You’re a bot or desperate for attention
which one of us? XD
Mine lags like that, too, when I change colors.
DO you also have a world with around 90'000 foundations in it or is it a lot less? just checking because it might be the number of foundations XD
I didn't realize I needed to hear most of those, but I needed to hear most of those. Thank you for this!
Happy to help :P
I like the concept of moving peaces. I was intending to do something like that for my mane storage facility.
Nice! Yea it is always so cool in my opinion, when you have moving decorations
Careful with the decorating. I went overboard with my iron factory and hit the object limit.
Thats when you mod the engine so it can handle more 😈
@jackblade281 That's the next step but until then, I stripped my factories bare. I got through aluminum and decided it's time to really mass produce. I figure once I get to end game I'll go back and detail things out, or start all over with mk3 miners and mk6 belts.
@@mephInc nce! then you have a plan :P
You explain things very well. I hope the algorithm picks up your channel more often and attracts more people. Well done.
Thank you! Yea it happens now and then, even with the best made videos, thumbnails and titles there is an X-factor to the viral reach thing XD
yep im about to go build my own versions of these lmao these were great
Nice to hear! Good luck with the designing of your own blueprints!
Great content. Love your channel man
Thank you! and thanks for the support!
1️⃣
Haha, nice! you are on point as usual!
streamers are fake ppl, on the live stream all looks normal and then they make a yt film and they fligh on the console mode in the same save so fuck them do your stuff and don't care, give me 3 days and i play the game over and over from 0 to done, no console, no mods just smart work znd running to drop zoned, open the editor just to see where you need to be and done, not a hack just a helping tool to find your way around
i play vanila and no stress just build and rebuild when you make a mistake just plan good and extend, just don't go big from the start or you wil need to redo it all, start small and extend ;)
This is a great tip!
Man, I like your style. Good fortune with your channel. Subscribed!
Thank you and thanks for the support!
@@jackblade281 No man, Thank you! I'm currently post phase 2 and I'm really unsatisfied with my starter base, I was looking for inspirations to migrate to a central hub and I stumbled upon your channel, very nice inputs!
@@HalleyRios That's great tho, I hope it all helps ^^
-Nah i love going crazy over minor inneficiencie i cant find the cause for 😂, they can be such a pain tho -Also comparing yourself to the insane people that post giga big builds on reddit is a real mistake, i often make, taking inspiration and having an example of different builds is great, it isnt a competition. -I still kinda find it a bit hard to find a good use for bp's --i feel like you also can make the opposite mistake: instead of skipping /cheating game section you dont want to get into I sometimes try to do everything possible in the game wich is really impossible todo, because there are too many possibilitys to play it you cant cover all of them - definitly agree, currently having a big challenge of organising my factory stuff, but achiving progress and getting new ideas to make stuff work feels so great, its a great learning experience.
YEa, ultimately you should play in a way that you enjoy, and if you stop enjoying it, change how you play :P
This is actually a fun little event now since they have polished it. Really looking forward to this year!
Same! It's going to be so fun!
Definitely did not expect the direction this video would take but incredible insight nonetheless
❤I hope it helps a little with inspiration at least ^^
I didn't think to put presents on the ground, that's clever! I'm hoping to make a big snowflake and build the factory on top of that.
that's an awesome aidea ^^
unfortunately super bright/dark colors don't work for concrete walls, but they do for foundations and pillars
Just what I was looking for! Thank you Jack :)
happy to provide!
I burnout in 2020 because i wanted to do everything perfect and now. I came back with 1.0 and i said to myself: "no rush nor finished factories". And i actually doubled the amount of time of my previous save with little to no afk, because i simply enjoy it. I managed to do a 100+ MW turbofuel plant without plans. You can do wild things with patience and joy (My previous one was 200+ hours and as yesterday i have 500+ and no intentions to stop anytime soon)
sounds amazing :P great gaming there Pelaro!
Not sure, but I think the free form on the pillars is broken, I tried it last night and things were snapping to the pillar in 1 meter chunks... I've been using that trick for a while and I'm annoyed that I think they changed it.
Was just coming here to verify I was doing it right... and I'm noticing the same thing, I can't free form on pillars today... shame, it's the first time I wanted to try it
That is weird, gonna check quickly and get back to you here as a response
Yea, checked, 1m snapping segments
Love it! Have u seen the new dc 3 from dc wan method for curves? Got to check it out. Also pillars can help woth zed fighting and there is a mod that will offset all the foundations to remove zed fighting entirely
niiice, no I havent seen the latest DCwan method, I did know the pillars canhelp with z-fighting, and have not heard of the z.fighting fix mod ^^
thanks for the shout out dude, but I defiantly did not come up with that technique, think it may have been Relyen Gaming, at least that's where I first saw it. Sorry to say that thay have removed the pillar sliding trick from the game . I'm thinking of asking why on today's dev stream
I say definitely ask that :P we need pillar sliding for so many things, I recorded this video like 3 weeks ago and it worked then, what has happened between then and now I wonder?
@@jackblade281 yeah it sucks but dont worry I'm working on a new technique. i've figured out how to get free placement/off grid slide vertically but not horizontally yet. will make a video about it if I figure it out
@@fromscratchgaming oooh, definitely looking forward to that video then :P
