Banjo Bolt replacement for low idle oil pressure | Honda S2000
Просмотров 6 тыс.2 года назад
This is a common upgrade for early AP1 s2000's, for more oil flow to the oil jets. However a problem with the AP2 banjo bolts can contribute to low oil pressure at idle. In this video I replace the factory banjo bolts in my AP2 s2000 with new OEM bolts.

S2000 clutch interlock bypass
Просмотров 4,2 тыс.2 года назад
In this video I add a relay to my 2004 honda s2000 to bypass the clutch interlock switch when the parking brake is actuated. Higher clamping force clutches apply more load to the thrust bearings which can lead to engine failure. This mod eliminates this load during start up when the most wear will take place. Disclaimer: This video is for informational purposes only. Bypassing the clutch interl...

BMW f30 brake sensor replacement and brake light reset
So what happens to you Vtech? Explain plz. Im trying to bypass mine as well. I do have Hondata tuner. What do i do with the wiring. Finding info on this sucks. No one wants to share
I just tucked the wiring away inside the factory wiring loom. Im not sure if Hondata looks at the VTEC oil pressure switch or not. AEM Infinity doesnt so my VTEC functions just fine without the switch.
@@dpgarage4501 great. Ty for the response back bro!! I will check on my tuner to see.
Where did you get the 16ft-lb banjo bolt torque measurement from? Not finding it in the service manual. Thanks
The service manual calls for 12 ft lbs (16Nm). Its on page 8-9 of the PDF service manual I have.
@@dpgarage4501 I see it now on 8-9, for 12ft-lb, thanks.
looks great whats your wheel and tire specs?
How is it holding up?
So far so good!
Many thanks..this video was very helpful
sick S. what \are your wheel and tire specs on your RPF1s? love that setup
Thanks for the help sir!!

How did you manage to keep the grill? I trimmed the areas that you trimmed on yours, but it still seems to hit the inner cooler.
If you’re using the SoS TS max kit, I had to modify the IC brackets to scoot them back a little farther to be able to keep most of the front grill.
Just wanted to add for anybody searching for this: it could also be a curbed pin on the brake sensor connector. I replaced mine on a F31 along with brake pads and discs and it wouldn't reset in the dash. After checking the newly mounted connector, I saw one pin was not sitting straight. Straightend it carefuly, reconnected, reset worked (car on jacks, P brake tightend, brake pad service notification due for 300kms for info, you can read a lot on this reset not working because of brake on, etc).
Where did you tie in the vacuum line for the BOV? I ran mine yesterday based on the SOS instructions which was to add in a nylon T fitting to the FPR vacuum line, and run that down to a 1/4 adapter for the BOV line to attach to.
I ran mine to the front most port on the intake manifold where the PCV valve used to run to.
Legend thanks!
Hey man, did you have your valve cover lines made somewhere or is that a kit you bought? Looking to do the same.
I made them out of -10AN hose and -10AN fittings.
@@dpgarage4501Is that pretty DIY friendly? I would love to do the same. I’ll be installing my SOS Turbo kit within the next couple weeks.
@@srqFF yeah it’s pretty straight forward. There’s a bunch of DIY RUclips videos on it. I think Schmuck Built sells a -10AN hose kit for catch cans as well.
So 3 of the bolts were bad even though they looked ok through the holes on the side?
Just followed this guide to replace my Cam sensor connectors, mine also fell apart while I was de-pinning it. Glad to have brand new connectors in there now.
Did you ever end up getting a block off plate? I think I may do this too when I install my SOS kit next month.
Hello, How are you? Could you tell me if it is necessary to remove the spare wheel to install the b16 on the s2000? Thank you
Nice install, thanks for the video. I have this same kit, I went with the GTX3576R turbo though. Just waiting to get my SOS Hybrid 400 clutch installed before I tackle the turbo install. Looks pretty straightforward.
Thanks a lot bro. U r life saver 😊
Leave that beautiful car alone.
Where did you get that slim motor mount and shield? Looks like that gives more room for the turbo
It comes with the science of speed turbo kit.
@@dpgarage4501 ok thanks, going to see if they sell it separately.. i want to do a custom turbo set up using a cast manifold, so that mount will help with clearance.
Nice video, it’s pretty wild how much that manifold limits power. Or could he just the stock exhaust holding you back a tun. I made 433whp with a gt3076r on 12psi. Forward facing manifold with long straight runners, 3” dp and 3” exhaust REALLY helps with power. Either way. Beautiful car and 380hp is still enough to have fun. Hope you’re enjoying it.
Did you need anything else to install these or just what comes in the box?
They don’t come with top hats. You can reuse the OEM ones or buy new top hats.
Did brakes, new cross drilled rotors and ceramic pads with sensors, got the warning light(pissed me off), hit your tutorial no longer pissed off thanks for your excellent advice..🇺🇸
Cool
Great video, brotha. No wasted words. Just straight to the point and very informative. Friendly voice too lol. Thanks, man! P.S. Sweet ride!
Thankyou so much just bypassed my brake pad sensors but fault was still lit, never knew you had to reset the light in those settings many thanks bud
What turbo kit is this???
Science of speed TS max kit.
Did you have any trouble with oil drain back from the turbo tapping in the oil drain plug. Did it smoke because it was having a hard time draining back to oil pan ?
I didnt run it this way long enough to notice a difference. I eventually pulled the oil pan and had a bung welded onto the pan. It was a pain to change the oil with the turbo drain going where science of speed had it.
Does the oil pressure switch block off also work for the oil pressure sensor to block that?
I think the vtec oil switch and the engine block oil switch are different thread sizes so would need a plug specific to each switch.
I want my valve/ignition cover setup to look exactly like yours. Could you walk me through it?
I sent my valve cover and spark plug cover to AB powdercoating in Pinellas Park FL. Its the same company that LHT performance uses and they do great work. It did take a few weeks to get it back from them though.
Thought it made 389hp/309tq
Need this for my AP1
Super walk through, thanks a ton for this video. Had this exact issue
i really wanted the pss10 but i waited for 8month and finally vivid racing said bilistein wanted another six months lead time so i said fuck it and got the fortune auto super low and they are amazing.
Awesome video! Nice job!
Where is your oil feed for the turbo coming from?
The science of speed kit tees into the oil filter relocation adapter for the turbo oil feed.
Thanks mate for the video this was exactly the problem on my BMW
What are the torque specs for lower bolt on coilovers. And upper control arms front and rear.
Good video brother. Because that will be me shortly when I order all new top hats and brand new bilsteins. Thanks great video for reference.
I think you just have to unplug it and plug it back in.
Great video
Awesome vid man, really helps!
Im on the fence between the SoS supercharger and turbo. I want something predictable but fun, do you feel like this kit jumps up on those turbo hits fast?
This kit has been a blast. Its making full boost at ~4500rpm with the gt3582r. The SC will have a more linear power band that’s probably more predictable. But this turbo kit will make more power across basically the entire RPM range than a SC. Both are a great option though.
@@dpgarage4501 Thanks for the reply, Ill probably end up going with the turbo kit, I can always boost by gear and control it I suppose.
Seems like a tight fit with this specific tuebo manifold. Would you go with a forward mounted turbo manifold if you could ?
It’s definitely a tight fit, but it went in surprisingly easier than I was expecting it to. I’m kind of mixed about the forward facing manifolds. Part of me would like to switch to one for the obvious reasons (more power, they look awesome, could run an external wastegate), but there are some real cons to them as well (more likely to crack, heat wrapping everything in the engine bay, generally have to move more things to make it fit). If you think you’re going to want more than 450Hp I’d go with a forward facing manifold. If not, the SOS manifold is a great option.
Thank you for your input!
We’ll since it’s tuned, do you still need the emulator. I’m getting ready to turbo my s2000 and was told it could be turned off through the stand alone.
Yeah you don’t need the emulator if you have a stand-alone ECU. I think it can be turned off if you have kpro as well. Not sure about flash pro. I don’t have an emulator on mine since I have a stand-alone.
@DP Garage what wheel size are you running please?
17x9 +45 square. The tires I had in this video were 245/40 rear 215/40 front.
@@dpgarage4501 super cool stuff buddy, awesome s2k
whats the point?
Just cleans up the engine bay a bit.
What about evap delete :D?
I may end up doing that at some point as well. So far I havent had any issues with it on the current setup. Hoping it stays that way haha.
Go with Ohlins for a few hundreds dollars more. Everybody says they're worth it!
